Gerard’s is a longstanding French restaurant in Lahaina. It’s at 174 Lahainalua Road, a block and a half off of Front Street.  Phone 808-661-8939. Gerard Reversade, the chef and owner, is from France, but has lived on Maui for over 30 years, and that combination shows in all of his wonderful food creations.  The restaurant has won many awards, including Mobil Travel Guide 4 stars, “one of Maui’s best” from Zagat, and “best chef on Maui” from Maui News readers poll.  The restaurant is small, with several inside tables in an elegant room, plus more outside tables on the beautiful front porch.  Very expensive.  The Plantation Inn B&B is in the same building.  See below for some specific Gerard’s menu items and photos.

We went here on a whim for dinner one very rainy day (the only one while we were there) and had a fabulous meal. I wish I could remember the waiters name as he took very good care of us.The food was fabulous and even though my girlfriend is a Celiac they were still able to offer a gluten free version of just about everything on the menu. Topped off with an excellent bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape made for a wonderful evening in a very quaint area of Maui.

Good times. The service, food, and ambiance were amazing. Our server was patient which made for a nice ordering experience. The porch section made for a nice comfortable meal.

A Terrific Experience. We were excited about dining at Gerard's before arriving, and our expectations were more than met. The staff was engaged and professional; three of them attended to our table without being intrusive or leaving us wanting. The wine list is nicely balanced. All of us shared the Ahi tartare with house made taro chips -- don't miss it. The special was Hawaiian snapper that was only out of the water for a few hours. It sat on artichoke and fennel and was covered in a citrus butter. It is exactly what you hope for in a destination such as Maui.

We stopped going to this restaurant years ago , not because it was bad, because new places kept opening up, and Gerard's dropped out of my memory bank. Just as good as before, I had Opakapaka that absolutely fresh. Staff is impeccable and very knowledgable. They do an excellent job with honoring reservations. My entire meal was fantastic, no misses on anything.

Perfect. Best fine dining experience thus far on Maui. Third time at this fabulous restaurant, and it could not have been better. On past occasions, we had complained of burning incense outside (for mosquitos?), but not an issue this time. Ahi Tartare & Fois Gras appetizers great, followed by awesome Duck and Pink Snapper entrees. Both food and service were impeccable!

Nothing short of perfect!. The food is probably the best food in Lahaina. When you go, make sure you are going to wine and dine and you will have a fabulous experience.

Quite possibly the best meal I have ever eaten. You enter Girards through a lovely garden. It feels like you have entered a French country bed and breakfast. The service is exquisitely attentive. The food is so good that I started daydreaming about returning to Maui just to eat here again. I had the seared foie gras as an appetizer. It came served over creamy French toast with a sprinkling of sea salt. Main course was the local snapper. I don't usually like warm water fish, but this was magnifique! Dessert was bananas au gratin (unread of cheese, they use melted macaroons). Each course came with a perfect wine suggestion from the wait staff who treated us like royalty. And .., to top it off, when the bill came, all I could say was "that's all?". If you are in Maui, you owe it to yourself to try this wonderful place.

A Great Meal. Dinner at Gerard's was easily one of the best meals I have ever eaten.
The food was brilliant and the service impeccable. The setting is wonderful and very tropical as one expects to find in the Hawaiian islands.

All together a memorable evening

Fantastic food. Chef Gerard is unique with his blend of French and Hawaiian flavor. This is a visit my husband and I make everytime we go to Maui. Spendy, but well worth your money with the 5 star service and food.

Romantic, elegant, classical fine French dining. In the Plantation Inn, off the Lahaina beaten path. Much more formal than most Maui restaurants. Gerrard's focuses on using fresh, locally sourced foods. From Surfing Goat Dairy cheese to local fishermen br

Amazing service and food. We wanted to seat outside and it was lovely. Food was so flavorful. I tried the Papio and to be honest I'm not a fish person but this dish was amazing! Son many different flavors, fish was mild and just delicious. Everyone was exceptional and so cordial. A great experience. Quiet and chill place too so perfect for couples that are trying to stay away from loud crowds. Fantastique!

Can't stop thinking about all the great food we had. It was one of our favorites from our week long stay in Maui. The Escargot, Catch of the Day, and the Dusty Road Dessert was some of the best food we ever had. Have to make a reservation and is very limited so reserve in advance!

Perfect place to enjoy Thanksgiving. E was a little bummed that they had a special menu because she was looking forward to having Escargot, but she kinda got over it with her meal. We started with the chilled cucumber soup with goat cheese and frozen tomato puree which was something we enjoyed but probably wouldn't think to order. It definitely cooled us down. E got the duck with cannellini beans with ham which she ate to the bone, grandpa had the pink snapper, which he said was a bland fish, however he liked how the capers added such beautiful flavor with the spinach and the rest of his dish, and I had the beef filet which was more medium then medium rare, but was good because of how it was sauced and the sweet potato mash was a winner, so much so that E ate half of it and then asked is this sweet potato? Normally she avoids sweet potatoes at home. And dessert... Creme Caramel and Gateau Chocolate (sp?) were perfect. I loved that the chocolate cake had macadamia nuts in it with the coconut ice cream and raspberry puree. E loved the meringue shavings on her creme Caramel. Patio was nice too...

Incredibly delicious. I appreciated everything about this restaurant. We wanted to eat quality food vs scenery. Still, this was a romantic setting with the most exquisite food. We had the mushroom pastry, French onion soup, fresh catch, and chicken cordon bleu, dessert and wine. We will be going back even though we are on a short trip, yes it was that good!

Set in the romantic Plantation Inn in Lahaina that gives a classic colonial atmosphere to your evening meal. The balcony is a perfect place to watch the sun set with that special person in your life. Gerard’s offers up an exquisite selection of fresh seafood dishes such as classic like escargot. You’ll be tempted to dip the fresh bread in all the rich sauces. All of the dishes are easy to wash down with a beautiful rose wine from Provence. No French meal is complete without trying their amazing desserts such as the profiteroles!

Amazing food here. They're booked out for months but we were able to grab a table due to a last minute cancellation. Can't believe how lucky we were!

Fantastic, authentic French food right on the shore in Lahaina. About a block off of Front Street. The cuisine is very good, service was impeccable and the setting beautiful. One of the highlights of my meal was the French Onion Soup.

A couple nice bottles of wine and an excellent demonstration of french cuisine on Maui. Everything was very good. Service was incredible and chef even took care of adjusting a little to support one our party's allergies. Would return.

Lovely lovely setting , the restaurant is set back from the main ocean road which is nice as it’s a lot quieter. We went here on our last night in Maui for our honeymoon .. and the food and service was fantastic. Really great place .

Ah, Gerard's! Our favorite restaurant on Maui. We enjoyed the tasting menu that was 8 courses, each more delicious than the last. Gerard stopped at our table and we asked about the sauce on our lamb, the seventh course. It was sauce Paloise, delicious and perfect with the lamb. Don't miss a chance to eat at Gerard's in Lahaina.

My husband & I both had the catch of the day. I can't remember the name of the fish, but it was absolutely delicious! A perfect meal for us and room to have dessert. We both had the pineapple carmelized tart, which tasted amazing! I'm so sad I didn't take a picture of everything! Such a nice atmosphere sitting on the porch looking out to a beautiful garden! It was the Best dinner I've had in a long time. Really enjoyed Gerard's, would love to come back before we leave.

Gerard's is pure excellence! Every dish we had was absolutely delicious. Everything is expertly prepared and presented. The ingredients are local and top quality. On top of the amazing French cuisine, the entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, warm, and welcoming. The setting is just perfect and unquestionably romantic. It was the best restaurant we ate at on Maui and cannot wait until we can dine there again!

Gerard's is situated in an 9ld plantation style house with a large porch. The food was fresh, well seasoned and cooked. My wife had scallops which were easy to cut with a spoon and were cooked so they were tender and not dry at all. I had the fish of the day with a cream sauce, capers, and mashed potatoes infused with carrot that was piped onto the plate. The server was nice and efficient. The desserts were delicious and probably our favorite part. We were full without being stuffed and hating ourselves with our main entree and 1 dessert to share. My only negative was the bread. It was dry and looked like it came from a super market and the butter was cold and hard to spread. It was free so not a huge deal. I would just say at the caliber of Gerard's either do it well or don't do it at all. Overall, solid meal that we enjoyed the taste of, the service, and the atmosphere.

We had looked at our options before going on our anniversary trip to Maui and the recommendations and reviews were good. Unfortunately I cannot give more than 5 stars! The experience started with a very warm island greeting that felt like you had just walked into their home. The meal setting was outside on the veranda and was wonderful. Ambience was outstanding even though you were only 20 feet away from the street. The staff were amazingly attentive without seeming to hover. Wine selection is comprehensive as is the scotch selection. The food choices are varied with not to many to confuse. The food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The lamb was the best I have tasted and I was raised in the UK eating a lot of lamb and mutton. My wife ordered the pork and it too was amazing (I snuck a small piece). We both cannot say enough good things about Gerards, Lahaina. Go there you will not be disappointed! Robert & Henri Dando Edmonton
