Went here for my first time today! They have a Sunday breakfast all day, which was very good. They come out with fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls. Fruit was ripe, and the cinnamon rolls were perfect! Just the right amount of spice, not too much frosting. I also got an iced chai, which was strong and creamy and everything you could want in a chai tea. Then they bring out a platter of all sorts of good stuff fresh fluffy scrambled eggs, thick slices of ham, wild rice sausages (which I was dubious about, but enjoyed thoroughly) and cheesy potato hotdish, which was very good. They have a little shop in the entrance way, with tons of tea, and tea pots and other odds and ends. Its a very cozy atmosphere, without being too crowded. I also managed to get a coconut creme brûlée, even though it wasnt on the normal menu for breakfast, the cook was kind enough to let me try it. It was awesome. Comes with two pieces of pineapple, with coconut shavings and whipped cream. It was also not too big, which is good because a little is all you need. Even though its an hour drive from my house, I plan on visiting more! It was a wonderful way to spend a sunday morning!
This is my favorite place to eat! All the staff is super nice. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is very homey and comfortable. And do not forget to pick up a new tea pot or a loaf of cranberry wild rice bread. Chick-a-dee has some fun gifts and teas for sale. Even if you are not hungry, just stop in and check out the front room, or walk by and look at the beautiful gardens. There is certainly something or someone there to make you smile.
Don't miss high tea! It's worth the time...lots of delicious little surprises along with tasty tea. Truly enjoyed all the sandwiches, the quiche, the lavender infused lemonade AND the Meyer lemon cake with lavender buttercream. Also had a lovely conversation with the new owners...very passionate about their craft. We will be back before the season ends to experience and enjoy more culinary surprises!
A quaint little gift shop/restaurant. Great food and the people who work there were very fun! The little gifts/crafts were so cool that I bought a bird and Karen bought a chickadee mug. Tables are out on a 3 season porch so it feels very homey - like you are visiting friends. Would definitely stop there again!
This place was excellent and adorable. Possibly the best bisquit I have ever had. The gift shop has some cute stuff and a lot of teas.
We have been here several times and the food is very good and reasonably priced. The fruit garnish with a breakfast meal is fantastic. Congratulations to the new owners on a great first year! We can not wait till next year to bring more people to this wonderful restaurant in beautiful Lake City!

Have not been to cafe itself, but just made "Pecan Squash" side dish for Christmas, found the recipe in Fresh from the Farmers Market Cookbook. We had a bounty of butternut squash this year, and I thought I'd try your recipe. It is easy to make and tastes excellent.
