Expensive, but delicious gem in downtown Lake Worth. The Pelican Restaurant is a dichotomy of sorts -- it's got a diner atmosphere with delicious food, but at gourmet prices. Service is generally good, but can be spotty when they're in the weeds. Be aware that it's a cash only operation, but there is an ATM inside if you're in a jam. At peak times (Sunday a.m. between 10 and 12), there are lines out the door and you may have to sit at the counter or outside if you can't wait. They serve standard American breakfast fare including Eggs Benedict, omelets, grits, home fries and probably the best pancakes I've ever tasted, which are bigger than a bread plate. (Consider sharing an order with your table mates if you're ordering other things.) The coffee is outstanding and beats Dunkin' Donuts by a mile. However, off of the printed menu is a hand-written white board with all sorts of Indian breakfast specials, which are spicy and delicious. The sign says, "Open daily for Breakfast" from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., closing at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. However, on Friday nights (5 p.m. - 9 p.m.), they serve a special Indian Dinner with lots of delicious meat and vegetarian entrees, but the dinners are as over-priced as the breakfast entrees. I don't know about you, but I find $35 for two for breakfast and $65 for two for dinner (including a shared appetizer, mango lassis, but no alcohol) seems a bit much for having a meal at a hole-in-the-wall-diner. The Indian dinner is supposed to include drink and dessert, but be advised that if they run out of nan or desert (which they have on more than one occasion), you don't get a break on the bill, which is unfortunate. Maybe the era of cheap eats is over, but you might find it worth the hassle of trying to find parking downtown, the noise of the diner atmosphere (people constantly going in and out the door), and the price for the privilege of tasting some truly inspired and delicious Ameri-Indian fare.
Friday is Indian food night. Terrific home-style Indian food. Dishes for vegetarians as well as chicken, meat or shrimp eaters. Large portions served with rice and naan.
The food tastes like home cooking.
Cute place. I’ve been a Lake Worth resident for years and just now decided to try this place. I was not disappointed. The location is convenient, the food was good, and the staff was super nice. The only drawback is it’s cash only but I knew that before going in and it’s not really that big of a deal. I will definitely be returning.
Staff is very nice and I got the shrimp and grits. Great choice. It’s a small and cozy place to get a bite / meeting…
Curry Chicken was authentic

We went as a party of 6 and had a delicious breakfast. Some ordered typical American breakfasts and 2 of us had Indian breakfasts. Everything was nice portions and tasty. I loved my my Indian style breakfast, just outstanding. Everyone at the table had a taste and all agreed it was excellent. Owners are lovely people and the service was great. One party member liked mine so well she took some of the sauce for the dish to go to use at home. Will definitely return when in town.
It was my first time in this restaurant and i love every moment of it the workers are super friendly and the owner makes you feel right at home and there food was extremely good
Went here not knowing they also served Indian fare. Absolutely delicious chicken curry omelet with home fries! Best homemade Naan bread I've ever had too. Amazing service in a family owned local gem. Can't wait to come back.
Every time I go to Pelican I try to order something other than Eggs Nissa but I’ve never been able to do that. Instead, I talk one of my companions into ordering something I want to try. The Eggs Nissa, na’an, riata are all amazing, I can’t bring myself to miss out but everything I’ve tried is delicious! French toast, eggs, everything. I just committed to get their Eggs Benny but I got Eggs Nissa for later. It’s so good!!! Everything is wonderful. The service is amazing, you’ll feel like family. We always take out of town guests. My extended family loves it. Pelican is a great option for a morning after but also perfect for a workday morning or early lunch. Pelican is truly the best breakfast I’ve ever had.
I ordered the spinach lamb Indian style omelet and it was fantastic. The omelet is stuffed with a lamb curry mix that has a delicious flavor. At first I was skeptical about having Indian spices with eggs because I never tried that before but TRUST ME when I say it tastes amazing. You should definitely try an Indian style option if you visit here. The nan that comes with the omelet is super fresh. 10/10 going back.
Service is super friendly we had a super nice waitress and owner came specifically to check if we liked the food.
The owner or manager is very friendly and welcoming. I loved looking out the window at downtown and I'd like to try the Indian cuisine they offer sometime. The person's who came in after me received their coffees first. I had to ask and Didn't get it until my food came. Other than that, it was a very nice place and I'd come again. The place is small but packed and Is worth checking out.
