This was a really nice experience. The conveyor belt sushi was fun, and the sushi was really yummy. I recommend the French Kiss Roll. Also, the server was really nice and made sure we got everything we needed. We will be back 😊

Update May 2023: many things have changed here at Sumo since their renovation, but the quality of the sushi remains. A new, exciting feature is the addition of a conveyor belt that wraps around the sushi bar, allowing you to select rolls as they pass, and pay based on the color of the plate. They have also added an unlimited sushi lunch option for $19.99, which is very impressive and delicious! We will definitely be back many times!
Ok I had good time.
The sushi were great tasting. I do recommend the avocado bomb they had the night I was there. It may be a seasonal or limited time item but please ask them if they can make one for you. All the sushi you see in my pics are great tasting. And the salmon we had with my dear friend and cousin. So, go next weekend to weekdays whenever you want. And have yourselves a great time guys.
Staff were nice and friendly. They seem to have enough knowledge about menu items. Their Avocado bomb with salmon is highly recommended. They also have that in Tuna as well. Only reason I am giving 4 star because we had to ask for spicy mayo several times to waitresses and finally I had to walk up to the counter and ask for it. Overall not bad. Food is little bit expensive for its surroundings.
Best sushi around! We gladly drive past Brandon and Tampa sushi places to come here. The General and his staff are so friendly and the food is amazing! I love the electronic ordering menu as you can see what you are ordering. Or you can grab a sample from the conveyor belt. This place turned me into a sushi eater. I’ve tried others but they just don’t compare.

My family wishes we had visited this place sooner! My mother loves Hwe Dup Bap, a Korean rice dish with sushi and vegetables which includes sesame oil and Cho gochujang to mixed together. She loved it! I ordered donkatsu and rolls, as well as trying some of the rolls that went around the belt. The price is reasonable, the staff is friendly, and the interior is nicely done. This place would be my go to place for sushi!
It was a nice sushi place we even had before. Today our family trying to get the conveyor belt sushi at lunch, we really want to try, but when we came the door was closed. We was there at 12:15pm today is Wednesday. We checked the business hours at google. We was wondering to know, is this restaurant already closed? If so, that was so sad!
Family of vegetarians here and we love this place! Staff is always friendly and chill, veggies in the sushi are never brown, and let's not forget the Japanese beer and Sake!
Girls' night out. Very fresh sushi and personable service. General was welcoming and funny. All staff clearly care about the customers. The conveyer belt was fun and invites you to try new things. Can't wait to return with my family.
This is Lakeland's only conveyor belt sushi spot. They recently started serving an all you can eat sushi option three days a week. The day I went it featured all of their signature rolls. I loved this place prior to it adding all the tech because it felt approachable and featured great sushi. The tech makes it unique and it still has great sushi.

Loved this place so much, I would go usually every other week with friends and family, I drove there today with a friend to find that it was empty and gutted out, I thought this place got good business, so sad to see it gone it was definitely one of my favorite places to eat
If you haven't been to this sushi place you have to. This place did not disappoint and was very surprised by the sweet technology this place had, waitresses and staff were wonderfully friendly.
Aside from great sushi at reasonable prices, it's the only place in Lakeland that I know of that has a conveyor running small sushi plates around to all the tables. It's a little small inside, but it's great quality.
Best sushi place I've found in Lakeland. Easily comparable to great restaurants in Tampa and Orlando for the quality and presentation of the food. Try to go two or three times a month at least.
Sumo always delivers. Best sushi in town, I widely broadcast. The General is the chef and he's friendly and welcoming always. Anything you order is a winner! Five stars a day every day.
