Liked the streamlined ordering and food service. Great taste as is their reputation. Shakes are still next level. Love the new straws for the shakes.

Had never been to one of these places before. But decided to try it out. Food was actually surprisingly good. Meat was tasty and i always love trying out a grilled cheese type burger. Worth giving it a try if you see one on your travels.
Their AC wasn't up to par. They had to use fans to keep temperature acceptable inside dining. Otherwise was awesome!!
Always love their food, their burgers are great and of course if you get any kind of shake, you can't go wrong. The only reason I give it four stars on the service is nothing to do with the people that are working there. They are awesome. Friendly and helpful. But they're like everybody else, short-handed. So they use the kiosk check-in. There were only three and there were quite a few people waiting, plus sometimes people have a hard time navigating through them so it takes longer than just having somebody take your order personally. Just a minor complaint, but I guess we have to get used to it because it seems like everyone is going to it. Still love these guys
So, no longer have waitresses. You buy your food from a kiosk. At the end of the tra naction you are asked for a tip for the employees ...cook, manager. Now you place your order, pick up your order, and clean up your table. Not the steak and shake I remember!
It has been a few years since we've been to a Steak 'n Shake. Our past experience is that the food was usually okay, but the servers tended to provide terrible service.
Upon our visit today, we found that the food is still okay, but the service is non-existent.
You are now required to place your order & make payment at a kiosk. Then you wait for your number to be called, so you can pick up your food, in the pick-up area.
So, now instead of just getting bad service, from a server, you don't get any service at all.
To top that off, when you pay, at the kiosk, it gives you suggested amounts to tip. I think to myself, tip who & for what?

OMG first my gift card wouldn't work on the order kiosk said see counter staff. They had only 2 of the 4 kiosks working on a Sunday at about 1:00. We stood for over 10 min waiting for someone to help us all the time there was a line for the 2 working kiosks.
Finally a man came out to the counter and put a roll of tape into one of the nonworking machines. I asked if he could help me and he did the same thing I did and got the same notice. He took my gift card to the back to the manager and about 10 min later she came out and used the register behind the counter and rang our order. She stated it was the gift card that was old and being recalled? I got the card for Christmas from my grandson who bought it the week before?
Now the wait for the food was over 30 minutes
We love Stake and Shake but being there for over an hour is unacceptable. I know they were short staffed and they put a note on the door we saw when we left that said drive-in only.
We saw a lack of organization that was making it harder and longer to do the job.
I do want to commend the young man for cooking the burgers. He never left his station the whole time we were there but you could tell her was stressed I wouldn't blame him if he quit.

What you would expect. Food was great. Shakes were delicious. We went in the slowest drive through lane but we had no choice. The fast lane was down that day.
Always nice to go here Steak 'n Shake on memorial Blvd in Lakeland the staff is always nice the manager is always on point, one time my gift card didn't work and he gave me both orders I was trying to purchase with my gift card for free because the system was down, now can you say great customer service... I can.. I go there twice a week sometimes more
Nice and easy ordering on the screen so you could add or take off what you wanted. Fast friendly service and the burgers and shakes as good as we remember.
just left steak n shake . Very nice . pretty clean for a fast food place .we ar from Pa and we were here last year on vacation and did not have a good experience . This year were were here about 4 times . Two time we had a waitress named Ava Davis . She was great very nice and knows what she is doing . if you go ask for here lol . Thank you Ava for a better experience this year !
