I devoured a pumpkin pie at a Friendsgiving. The texture was perfect. Airy, creamy with tons of flavor but not overly sweet. The crust was also just right (not hard or too thick). Definitely worth the hype.

These are the best desserts and pastries I’ve had in the U.S. Everything here is insanely good. Can’t go wrong. I wish I lived closer but since I’m pretty far away my family and I will buy a lot of food if we go.

Quaint and eclectic little bakery that is open only in Wednesdays and Saturday mornings. Tasty treats, pastries, sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. This place specializes in everything croissants! They utilize their perfected croissant dough into muffins (they call cruffins), knots, and of course many varieties of croissants. I loved my sausage and egg biscuit sandwich. My daughter said, "This is the best egg mcmuffin I've ever had!" A bit pricey, but is delicious.

Great atmosphere and service. LOVE the pastries. Only open a couple days a week, but I'm so glad we were able to fit a visit here into our trip. Lots of seating too

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. I’ve loved Born & Bread since they were just selling from a table on a Saturday morning downtown. The cruffins are a food experience that I road trip to Lakeland for. I have tried numerous other options and I have loved every single thing from savory to sweet. Jen, the owner, is also one of the most wonderful and down-to-earth people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I’ve immensely enjoyed this most recent visit and their fun Halloween options. Pictured: Boo Berry Cruffin, Matcha Cream Cruffin and a Sausage, Asiago, Onion Croissant (forgive me if the names aren’t 100% correct).

My remote coworker who lives near Born & Bread always talks about how amazing this place was! Always. So, she came into the office Wednesday afternoon (after picking up a Wednesday order) and was kind enough to bring some goodies with her. So after trying it and nearly crying from the out of body experience, I am ready to drive up to Lakeland from Boca to eat this most amazing pastry. I have never experienced this degree of pastry skill in my life. The sourdough bread is also absolutely amazing and worth the $! Thank you for this and please don't ever stop!

During our visit, this place was bustling with activity. The sight of the bakers hard at work was captivating. We couldn't resist indulging ourselves and ended up ordering a delightful array of pastries, totaling $70. Every bite was an explosion of flavor, leaving us thoroughly satisfied.

It was so hard to choose so we got a variety! All of our baked goods were DELICIOUS!!! They have really mastered the craft of croissants, biscuits, breads, glazes…all of it! Loved the atmosphere and the display of items available! We’ll definitely be back!

Born & Bread Bakehouse is a local bakery located in Lakeland, FL and is infamously a very popular bakery. The decor inside is very good. It’s very rustic, and is appealing to the eye. The service was good, although some were a bit slow. The food here is very good. The biscuits and gravy are very good; and has a buttery biscuit, and flavorful gravy. The sweets here are good as well. They are mostly softer in the inside. Overall, would recommend going here for breakfast. You’ll enjoy this.

This is such amazing bakery! I went here all the time when I lived in Lakeland. Everything on the menu is SO good. They graciously made 110 chocolate chips cookies for my wedding on a Sunday, and baked all of them fresh on Saturday morning during one of their busiest times. The staff were all so nice and the cookies were SO tasty. Our guests loved them!

I drive 1.5 hrs multiple times a year to get their baked goods. Just took a friend from France with us today, and she was more than impressed. We have never had anything disappointing. The only thing to say is, AWESOME!!!

I forgot to take pictures of all the food before the kids (and myself) tore into it. We visited with our family - my husband, myself and our two girls and his sister, her husband and two boys and his mom. So we had 9 people. We sat at one of the long tables and waited for our food. Unfortunately we got there later and forgot to order online so the options were limited. I thought they were open for dinner but they switched the Wednesday lunch. I was disappointed that my favorite stuff was gone already. The girls tried the peanut butter and jelly toast and didn’t like it. The sourdough was cut too thick for them and they didn’t like the crunchy peanut butter. They prefer smooth/creamy. Overall the food was still good, but we will definitely check before we go and order online before! I didn’t know we would be in the area since my husband kept saying he might have to go to work (we live in TN and were just visiting family) and drive back that day so that’s why I didn’t order any. Next time I will just order some of our favorite things anyway ha!

One bakery to rule them all! I finally as a Lakeland native had a chance to stop by born and bread. I’m a big fan of NYC bakeries and have visited more than I would like to admit. That being said I would put this place on par with the best of them. Very industrial yet southern interior with super friendly staff. The only downside to this place is it is always busy! But once you try their desserts you will understand why. I suggest pre-ordering for the day you know you want to visit. Or else you run the risk of not getting the treats you want because they do sell out through the day. I can’t recommend this place enough. This bakery could hold its own in any major city so the fact that we get to enjoy it in Lakeland is a huge bonus. 5 stars isn’t enough. Try this place immediately!

Photos and an enticing description to match on their website makes this place seem coveted, I appreciate that the pastries are light and not as dense as they appear. The base for most of their menu is made from croissants. The cruffins are their most popular offerings for a reason. They held up, at least for me. I'd say if you aren't from the area place an order once and don't wait around because the menu changes and if there's something specific to the season and it's gone the next week the allure of it goes away.
