What a great little Italian restaurant in Lakewood! We had friends over and decided to check this place out for dinner. We called ahead just to see if it was busy and they said we can sit in the bar area. Upon arriving, staff was nice, attentive, and the ambience of the Christmas music playing was nice. We ordered drinks and apps, with everything coming out in a timely manner. Calamari was superb and so was the mozzarella sticks. Our table decided to split a margarita pizza and Roman pizza. Both were incredible, especially the Roman one! Overall, great place for a nice dinner, staff was amazing, food was amazing. We’ll be back for sure!

Lovely dinner experience at Pepper’s. Staff was so friendly. We sat by the window near the door. We ordered two pizzas, lasagna, mozzarella sticks, and fried calamari. Oh yeah, we had leftovers! Their cannolis were also delicious. We got some to-go before we left.

Peppers from start to finish was amazing. Upon my arrival, part of our group of 7 was still waiting to get there. In the meantime, the incredibly courteous and personable staff and bartenders talked with us when allowing to pass the time and made sure we got to our reservations in a timely manner. During this time, the owner joined us in waiting and made for great conversation as well as recommendations for us to try on our first visit. His recommendations were superb. We were salivating at the large portions and were not disappointed by the authentic Italian taste and food in the least. From the owner and his employees, to the service, to the food, everything was top notch. Being from out of town, I will certainly make a point of returning and indulging when I return to where I used to live here in Lakewood.

My wife and I returned to Peppers Italian restaurant in Lakewood after nearly 20 years. We used to live on that side of town and this was a favorite place to dine when we started dating. It was recommended by my then-barber, Tom Puliafico of TD and Son on Madison Ave. The restaurant expanded its footprint in recent years and now features a separate dining room in one half of the space and a cozy wine bar in the other. Sidewalk alfresco seating is also available, weather permitting. The restaurant’s expansion was done, skillfully, and although the overall space is bigger, it still maintains the intimate family atmosphere for which Peppers was known. The wine bar on the Detroit Ave side is where you actually enter the restaurant these days and it’s a welcoming space. If you don’t have dinner reservations, you might want to hang out a while before eating, either sipping a glass of Prosecco or enjoying a draft Peroni. The dinner menu is smaller than I remember but not the portion sizes. No one will go hungry! In addition to the menu, there are several specials listed on the board in the corner of the dining room. We decided to each order the Shrimp, Scallop and Fettuccine w/seafood (Prosecco) cream sauce special for $20 and added a house side salad w/a choice of dressing for $2. A small basket of fresh, lightly seasoned focaccia bread was complimentary. Some very reasonably priced drinks and a bottle of wine rounded out the main meal. Arriving at our table; the salad was very generous, fresh and crispy. I only wish it came in a bowl instead of on a plate, to help corral its wandering contents. The main dishes, once ordered, arrived quickly and piping hot. The portions were equally generous, arriving in a sizable pasta bowl for each of us! The fettuccine tasted freshly made, smothered in a sauce that was creamy but not too thick. The scallops and shrimp were done to tender perfection, a feat not easily accomplished, especially for the scallops. Afterward, we split an order of tiramisu for dessert…the best we’ve had in recent memory! Our hostess was attentive throughout the evening and anticipated our needs (such as bringing containers for the leftover pasta she knew we’d have). Dinner for two, dessert, drinks and a bottle of wine was about $100. Not bad at all for freshly prepared food in a classy, neighborhood setting that’s closer than Murray Hill and WAY better than a chain restaurant! Despite changing owners a few times since we first went there; the Peppers name remains the same and the food remains outstanding!! It’s one of Lakewood’s culinary gems! We’ll be going back, soon!

Not the same place as last time. Staff was off putting rude and cared more about phone orders then the people who walked in. One of the chicken parms we ordered had no cheese and the wrong pasta. The order was also missing the $8 garlic bread. So $75 plus tip and more ore less recieved 1 correct barley warm dinner and 1 correct salad. Being busy was the excuse when I called and was offered nothing for the mistake and major inconvenience. From one of my staples and favorites to the bottom of the list.

Kitchen/server was able to handle dairy allergy without hassle at all. Rare for a restaurant that isn’t much more expensive than this one to be able to deal with that so easily. I’ll be happy to come back!

So glad to have found this place. I had a great dinner experience with my friend. We ordered a few apps, salad and dinner. Apps were very good-would have been great is calamari and cheese sticks were a little hotter, but the peppers were awesome. Chicken parm was awesome and loved the homemade poppyseed dressing on my salad. Definitely will be back!

There is no better authentic Italian food experience than Peppers. I wanted to try some of everything on my first visit. Do yourself a favor and don't pass by without stopping in.

I've been to Peppers several times and I like the place very much but this time it wasn't up to my normal expectation of this restaurant . Chicken is one of the easiest meats to cook with so there should be no complaints about the preparation of marsala or picatta and mine could have been much better. Hopefully this was just a one off poor prep situation.

I of course couldn't finish my meal so I had to take the rest home for the next day and omg still amazing! This place is awesome! It's a shame it's only open from 5-10. THe staff is very kind! Our server was very nice and gave us prompt service. I can't remember his name but he was wearing glasses n had brown hair. I deff recommend you to try it if you haven't! It's deff worth the try and u won't be disappointed!

My wife and I were traveling in the Cleveland area we googled Italian Restaurants and Peppers came up. Old Italian atmosphere. The spaghetti & Lasagna were outstanding! That slight sweet marinara sauce was spot on!
I think I am spoiled now. Now I will have to drive all the way from Sandusky to get a perfecto Italian meal!

Great ambiance with string lights and photos of Frank Sinatra while he plays in the background. Nice little place with best Italian food in town! Family owned and run, and always eager to please and help out with suggestions. One of my favorite places!

I'd been hearing about this place, but it was always too long of a wait for us to try it. Finally, we got in, and I can definitely see what all the fuss is about! I like a sweet sauce, and this is some of the best I've tasted!

We sat on the patio and the service was poor. We felt forgotten about and watched a couple that sat down after us get their salads and bread 10 minutes before we did. One of the bread rolls tasted like the smell of mold. The veal Parmesan was chewy and the red sauce was sweet. Overall a pretty disappointing first time experience. Doubt we will come back.

Great food! Good service and the best damn Grape pie I've ever had! (OK the only grape pie I've ever had..but it's amazing!)

Probably the best Italian I've had in Ohio. I'm a NJ/NY native of Italian descent and this place reminds me of home and Mom's cooking. A true highlight of Lakewood.

Phenomenal. Literally is all I can say. Food took a little longer to come out, but it was some of the best food I've ever had. You can tell the time and quality is put into every single dish.
