I've really been liking this place. The beer selection isn't big, but all the options are solid. The fried cheese is my go-to starter, you can't go wrong with the cannelloni and the ossobucco is always super tender
I tried Lombards through a multi-restaurant delivery service. I had the cannaloni, garlic bread, spinach salad and rum cake. Everything was excellent. My only dissapointment was the cost-to-portion ratio. For the amount of food you get, especially dessert, you pay a hefty price.

Basic, unpretentious but delicious Italian food. Rock music, however, could be replaced with Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, etc. Great staff
Fantastic traditional Italian in Lancaster. A recent business trip took me through Lancaster, PA. While Lancaster is not exactly known as an Italian food destination, the mood for pasta struck so I decided to look for a local non-chain establishment. I was fortunate to find Lombardo's on my Google Maps application. This restaurant was exactly what I was looking for, almost a Billy Joel moment, if you will.
I arrived alone during the beginning of their Saturday dinner rush, but was lucky enough to be seated promptly. I did peruse the full and diverse menu of pasta, seafood, and meat dishes, but I had settled on pasta in my mind before I walked through the door. My meal began with their house red wine which was quite good,. It was a medium-body, off-dry blend of two or three wines, though I regret that I do not remember the exact combination. Next up was the fresh baked Italian bread and salad. The salad was not much, but contained fresh greens, tomatoes, and real Italian pepperoni (this stuff was not Hormel, I can assure you). Be forewarned that there are olives aplenty on the salad, so if you are not a green olive eater, you may want to look before taking a bite.
When going to an Italian restaurant for the first time, I like to establish a baseline quality expectation, so I tend to order either ravioli, gnocci, or Alfredo of some sort. On this trip, I settled on the gnocci. You can often tell by the texture alone whether or not pasta is made fresh. In this case, it clearly was. Lombardo's topped the fresh made pasta with a robust traditional tomato sauce that contained the perfect balance of garlic, basil, oregano and just enough red pepper to give a little kick without overpowering the other flavors. This dish took me back to when my full-blooded Italian grandmother used to make them when I was a child. Moreover, the meatballs were tender with a slightly firm bite. They were mildly spicy with a full flavor and good clean texture that shouts "homemade." The dish may not be complex flavor-wise, but the mark of an Italian restaurant is its pasta, and Lombardo's definitely hit a home run with this.
I needed to get on the road, but when the cannoli on the dessert tray made their way past me, I was compelled to stick around. The shells on these delectable gems were flaky and crispy with a rich but not too sweet ricotta cheese filling. The only good thing about living four hours away from Lombardo's is that I won't put on nearly as much weight as I would if I lived closer. I can promise you that I will visit Lombardo's again on my next visit to Amish country.
Great family place. Went with my future in-laws. Good family atmosphere and great food. The meatballs were very good. The sauce was flavorful and complimented the dish very well. I will be coming back when I come to visit.
Great Italian food! I had the ravioli, some of them were meat some were cheese. The meat ones were good, the cheese were amazing. Homemade pasta made it extra special. The sauce looked like it was going to need seasoning, but to my surprise, it was perfect. Overall my wife and I had a great time there. Oh yeah, the tiramisu is out of this world, it's enough to make me come back. My only criticism is the American stuff, stick to Italian. It is done very well. We have enough olive gardens in Lancaster, Italian restaurants shouldn't strive for that. I feel like the more italian lombardos is, the better! Keep up the good food!
The Italian restaurant around the best sauce homemade everyday by Paul family owned great service
Lombardo's has some of the best Italian food in Lancaster. They're meatballs are phenominal. I've been eating there since I was a baby. Definitely worth my money.
Just so happened to be right around the corner from here at the clipper magazine stadium. Came over for dinner with some friends. Everything we tried was very delicious. I would definitely come back again to try some of the other things on the menu. Also our waitress was very friendly and helpful.
Haven't been to Lombardo's in 15+years. The renovation was outstanding. More importantly, the bartenders, service, and food were amazing. If you like Italian this is absolutely the place to go in Lancaster.
We went here for our Valentine's Day dinner, and it was decent overall, but not as good as the first time we visited.
The drinks were great. And then we got a fried risotto appetizer, and it was wonderful and unique.
For the entrees, I got the Bolognese, and it was very good. My husband got the lobster and shrimp ravioli - while it was very tasty, the dish was very small!! There were only 3 raviolis with some shrimp and lobster on top. It seemed more of an appetizer than a main course, and he left feeling not quite satisfied.
And finally, the waiter was fine but wasn't too great.
Overall, we had a decent experience but the first time was better. We went about 2 years ago and really enjoyed it. So I'm just giving this a 4 out of 5 because we did love it prior to today.
Divine, you must go! The live music and the atmosphere makes you forget about everything else going on and only focus on the company you keep. Please go you will not regret it.
I had a solid experience here but I wouldn’t consider it one of the best spots in the area.
I understand it’s considered a more upscale Italian restaurant, but I think the menu is a bit overpriced for the portions of food that you receive. The lasagna was decent but for $20 the portion is extremely small. I liked that the bread was served with an accompaniment of oil, peppers and cheese.
You won’t have a bad experience here, but if you’re willing to spend some money for Italian, I would recommend LUCA or Ciro’s.
This restaurant was a very nice place and I had a great time. They had someone playing the piano the whole night and it was lovely. They had a nice wine selection. They made an accommodation for me to have a vegan option. It was a delicious mushroom pasta. Also their bread is vegan and they gave me olive oil to dip it in. As well as, they gave me Lombardos salad without the pepperoni. I will gladly return again.
Eccellente!!! Lombardo’s more than exceeded our expectations. We made reservations a few weeks prior, and were glad as the wait was said to be about an hour on the Wednesday night we dined. Our waitress was great to ensure our drinks stayed full and we enjoyed our meals. The menu had many styles of Italian dishes, all of which sounded amazing. Everyone in my group loved their meals, from appetizers to entrees to desserts. We’ll definitely be back to have another outstanding Italian meal sometime in the near future!
We had a wonderful experience and delicious food at Lombardo's November 2023. The stagf was courteous and very attentive to all diner's needs. Food was served fresh and hot. I highly recommend this Lancaster Pa landmark.
An incredible Italian restaurant in Lancaster and we can’t believe we didn’t come here sooner! The ambience of Lombardo’s absolutely cannot be beat - especially if you can snag a seat in the front of the restaurant by the live pianist. Their selection of wine is fantastic and the food is incredible - the calamari was some of the best I have ever had and their bolognese was great! The desserts were also very good, especially the cannolis (of course)! From the service to the atmosphere and food, you will have an unforgettable experience at Lombardos.
It's so hard to book a table at a good restaurant in Lancaster on a Saturday afternoon, but I was lucky enough to have a table at Lombardo's Restaurant. Black sea bass and delicious sauce mixed with cherry tomatoes, leafy greens and a dash of rice. Perfect for my taste, healthy and delicious. veal parmesan very delicious. The coffee is amazing, we added Sambuca……Professional and friendly service, come again next time.
We were a group of six. We were seated promptly and the service was exceptional. I had a fantastic calamari and a great lobster risotto. The bread dish was very good. Overall this was a great Italian restaurant and this is coming from an Italian from New York. Well done!!
First time dining here in 20 years or so. Happy to say it was much better than the first time around. Scamorza burger 🍔 and the prosciutto mussels were on point. Hope to get back soon.
Went for my wife’s birthday with some friends. The appetizers were excellent, entrees were good as well. Very impressed with their cocktail menu and the service was great. We will definitely return.
Great service. The piano player was a pleasant touch. Wonderful food for the most part. The crab bisque really needed some sherry. Truffle fries excellent. Lasagna excellent. Reservations strongly recommended.
Exceptional from start to finish.
Our server Grace was attentive and on point. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't skip a beat. We had the Four Roses cocktail on their menu called "Chai a Little Tenderness" and it was full of seasonal flavor and well balanced. We also enjoyed a lovely four roses old fashioned. Compliments to Katie May behind the bar. Bread service was accompanied with fresh parmesan, herbed olive oil and roasted red peppers. The caesar salad, linguine and clams and baked ziti were all outstanding (and I don't like clams). Portions were appropriate and well priced for the quality.
Our experience speaks volumes to the longevity of this establishment in Lancaster and the newly remodeled feel makes for a cozy and inviting setting with a touch of elegance. Thank you to Meredith and her staff! I am looking forward to visiting again soon!
One of the better Italian restaurants I've been to. Can't beat their hand made pasta, pizza was more flavourful than the others, appetizers were also great. On top of awesome food, awesome service to make it an unforgettable experience.
