A Taste of The South: Creole Burger Bar & Southern Kitchen, Lansing In the landscape of Lansing, Michigan, sits the Creole Burger Bar & Southern Kitchen, presenting a firm nod to Southern and specifically, New Orleans culinary arts. The ambiance? Aesthetically coherent. The service? On point without being too much. You step inside, and there’s an agreeable charm that doesn’t try too hard but accomplishes a lot. There’s a respectable variety in the food offerings, a Southern touch, not trying to re-invent the wheel but rolling it quite well. A night out with friends here became not about extravagance but a straightforward, good time. The interior - it works. Not overdone, but speaking to the theme without seeming like a caricature. We dove into several dishes, but those portabella fries with feta stood out. Not a conventional choice by any means, but an appetizer that you find yourself involuntarily nodding at with each bite. Everything that followed held its ground, though a note to the chefs – don’t shy away from embracing the boldness of Creole and Cajun on those fries. For those finding themselves in Lansing and inclined towards a culinary journey with a Southern touch, the Creole Burger Bar & Southern Kitchen warrants a visit. It doesn’t scream for your attention but confidently waits, knowing those who step inside will likely find a reason to return.

First time with little knowledge and I am impressed! 👍🏻 30th Birthday Brunch for my daughter. Arrived and greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter did a phenomenal job, great recommendations and taking care of what we needed. The party of 8 all enjoyed each of their meals! We had blood Mary's and table mimosas! The finale were the beignets were🤌 see photos for dinners, appetizers etc. Definitely will Recommend and will go back!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My wife and I had an excellent dining experience here! The atmosphere--like everything else--truly captures an authentic Creole feel, as if you were truly in NOLA. The staff is friendly, colorful, professional, and the service is prompt. As this was my first time here, I of course had to have the jambalaya. It was simply fantastic! A hearty blend of savor and spice. Without exaggeration, it tasted so good I found it difficult to put my fork down! Well worth the price! We will be coming here again, and more often! You will not regret choosing to eat here

This place is amazing and I was so torn between a burger and some Cajun favorites. I went with the Jumbalaya and it was amazing. It would take several trips to make it through the variety the menu has to offer. While you’re there, check out the great decor of the restaurant. It’s really cool.

Our serve was awesome. The food was phenomenal, definitely turned a not so great day into the best day of the week. Shrimp and grits were good but needed more cheese, the smoked wings were delish but I'd love a hint of sazon, fish and chips was the best I've had in lansing so far... pimento Mac and cheese was beyond words. Just order the entree size, TRUST ME. The beignets are delectable and add the rotating sauce... you won't be sorry. Thr cornbread was good but needs to be a bit more moist... that sounds bad. Maybe a honey glaze?Local gem and I need to return soon. Usually the shrimp etouffee wins the meal but today it was all about the beignets!

Took the twins here for birthday lunch. Absolutely amazing service. The food... everyone's food, was incredible. The shrimp burger was the best I've had. Great dinks and atmosphere. A dining must.

This place is amazing! I needed to plan a bachelorette dinner in Lansing, having never been there myself. The manager, Dakota, was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She made my long-distance planning a breeze, was incredibly hospitable when we actually arrived, and she and her team went out of their way to provide top notch service. She even came up with a custom cocktail for our event, which the bride-to-be loved. The food and cocktails were fantastic, and the restaurant is super charming inside. Also, this is in an incredibly charming neighborhood with cute shops all around. Cannot recommend this place enough! Thanks, Dakota and team!

Brunch on Sunday.. Breakfast Omelettes were good, but shrimp etoufee was watery and shrimp not well cleaned--no gravy at all. Cornbread served cold and dry.

Small place but had a great atmosphere. Nice drink menu. Deviled Eggs were A-mazing!!! My friend had the Jambalaya and she said it was very good. I had the Fried Chicken and biscuit. Chicken had a great flavor but I'm not sure they put the right gravy on it. We would definitely go back.

Absolutely love the ambiance. The food was good, could've been a little bit more flavorful with the jerk chicken but the cornbread definitely made up for it. The fries were also fairly bland.

First, the neighborhood was really quiet and peaceful. We noticed as soon as we got out of the car. The atmosphere inside looked old and dated, but kinda cozy at the same time. We were looking for the burgers we've been hearing so much about. We got the Nawlins and the Boudreaux, they were both really good. The mixture of flavors we well put together and hit just right off each other. Nice low-key burger joint!

Absolutely delicious! Started with the Cornbread Basket with honey butter, shrimp étouffée(added andouille sausage), and then our server Kayla(who was also the bartender) made me a "Trust Me" cocktail. I told her what I usually drank and she made one up on the fly. She nailed it! So good I ordered 2 of them and they were only $10 each. What a gem here in the Old Town section of Lansing. I feel like this is New Orleans in Michigan. YUM!

My son chose this place for his birthday lunch and he, my daughter and I were quite happy here. The shrimp and grits was positively addictive! The kids' burgers were pretty good even though they didn't offer a choice of how well done. Fries were excellent.

Nice place, nice food, nice people! I really enjoyed my Shrimp & Grits. They also have absinthe, you don't see that often. Jasmine made me feel at home and is easy on the eyes🥰Oh, yeah, so they're not Michelin stars, get over it😋
