Family and friends flew in to celebrate my 50th birthday. The service was impeccable, but other things were not. Three of the gentlemen ordered Old Fashions and none of them enjoyed them to the point that they didn't even finish them. The prosciutto covered prawns were extremely salty and I couldn't finish them. My husband asked if they could do a blue cheese crusted steak. They said they could, but what he received was a creamy blob of blue cheese. The wine was a delicious one and that was served beautifully. Over-all, it was an okay experience, and one I won't need to do again.
Celebrating our 17th anniversary at Hugo's was a decision that made our special day even more memorable. The attentiveness of the staff was not only professional but filled with genuine kindness. They worked as a unified team, ensuring our evening was nothing short of perfect.
My seafood trio was a culinary delight, each component cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor. My husband's steak was equally impressive, tender and cooked exactly to his liking. The unexpected anniversary cake was a touch of elegance that showcased Hugo's attention to the finer details.
From the ambiance to the exquisite food, Hugo's provided us with an experience that we'll treasure for years to come. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a fine dining experience. They have an excellent team! Thank you for making the experience wonderful and unforgettable!!!
Went to this restaurant for the first time for my birthday. Was presented with a rose upon entering. Food was delicious but pricey. Salad was prepared at table. Excellent service. Found restaurant to be a little chilly. Overall very nice dinner.
Been coming to Las Vegas for over 20 years for the AAPEX/SEMA show and have only heard that places like this on Fremont Street, in "old Vegas", put this town on the map. Outstanding service from experienced staff that are here because they want to be, not "have to be". Professional, warm, friendly, and most importantly made the world feel like a normal place again (did I mention we were in Vegas!). Every dish was excellent, prime rib tender and succulent. Ribeye was juicy with great beefy, deep-umami flavor. Salad, included with entree, was prepared table side. Time capsule experience made us want to drive away in a '66 Continental convertible with the Ratpack. Looking forward to coming back again next year. Long live Hugo's Cellar...!
Hugo’s was recommended by a friend. I am very glad he did. It’s right on Fremont St. which was perfect as we wanted to experience that as well. The food was spectacular and the atmosphere was very unique. Definitely try it if looking for a great steak and a great time.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Gene was a fabulous waiter who was the right amount of attentiveness and entertainment without being overbearing. The food was wonderful. Recommend the Bananas foster for a beautiful tableside presentation.
Spent about 3-4 hours here on a Friday evening. The service was good, but it seemed like everything entree came out 20- 25 min. The food was great, I think the only complaint was that the shrimp was lacking major flavor. Drinks were good as well, expect to spend close to $100 per person.
We're locals and we celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary at Hugo's - our first-time dining experience was not disappointing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting...a really old school high-end Vegas feel. It's a very intimate and romantic environment. And the long-stemmed rose given to every woman is a nice touch.
We arrived a bit early and had a drink at the bar. Dean, the bartender, was very friendly and helpful and he mad us a couple of incredible drinks: a raspberry lemondrop martini and a "new" old fashioned. I'd say they were some of the best cocktails we've had in Vegas.
At the table, Caesar (the server's helper) was very attentive and helpful in answering questions. His demeanor was upbeat without being annoying, and we had some fun joking back and forth with him about a few things. our main waiter (who I won't name & shame) was a bit of a dud. He only came by to mix and serve the salad and one other time, and he had a sourpuss expression and demeanor every time we saw him.
The wine steward was helpful and had a pleasant, if somewhat dry demeanor. No real complaints, though...he hooked me up with a great wine pairing for the meal.
Speaking of the meal, everything we ordered was excellent. The stuffed mushrooms, lobster bisque appetizers were great. I typically prefer lumps of lobster meat in bisque, but they put a couple of lumps on a small piece of bread floating in the bowl. Not my preference, but it was good. The salad came with lots of options on toppings, and both the ranch and vinaigrette dressings were tasty.
On to the entrees: We had the beef wellington and rack of lamb, both with garlic mashed potatoes, a baby carrot, and broccolini (I think). The beef wellington was prepared perfectly with a flaky and crispy outer pastry. The lamb was very tender and flavorful, with a sauce on the side that was excellent and a perfect complement to the lamb.
We didn't order desert because we were already packing food to take home with us, but they sent us an anniversary desert of chocolate lava cake which was very good.
The bill for dinner and drinks came out to $300, which is a good bit more than we typically spend on dinner...even a nice one. But I can say that the experience and the food were both worth the expense. Plus, we ended up with dinner left over for another night, so it was more like $100-$125 per meal excluding drinks.
Great and unique experience! Their little touch with roses is very unexpected but cute! The brick walls, painting on the walls, a rose-shaped butter. salad bar adds to the unique experience! The gentleman singling happy birthday with us was too rushed, like if he wanted us out of there asap. Overall a little slow service. Another hiccup was when they forgot about my iced tea. Otherwise, a great experience and we defiantly will be back! Highly recommend!!
Probably the best dining experience I’ve ever had! This review may be long so let me start by saying, the best part of the experience was Jeffery, thank you for you impeccable service and professionalism. You sir made our night!
We entered Hugos cellar and upon entering I received a rose (every woman does) then they took us to our seats. The atmosphere was mostly red with brick walls, and all of the employees were immaculately dressed. We then proceeded to order, to our surprise we received not only the most tasty bread basket but a fresh salad that was made right in front us, we chose the ingredients and Jeffery proceeded to make the most delicious salad, as you can imagine by this time we’re full! The entrees came out shortly after, but not before the “intermezzo” to cleanse our palates, lemon sorbet, which felt like a subtle desert before the main. We received our entrees and I have to speak on the warmth of the food because that’s something that always disappoints me but it was definitely the right temperature which I must commend. The flavour of the food was also exquisite but of course we couldn’t eat it all (I would suspect that to-go bags are quite popular there). They proceeded to pack our plates on a table in front of us and wrapped my rose In preparation for us to go. The bill came to $214 but we would have easily been ok with paying more for that experience. Thank you again Jeffrey for your expert level professionalism and your great customer care. Overall 5 stars, not a bad thing to say about Hugo’s Cellar! We will be back!
