Considered top of heap in it's class--as in, fancy and expensive Chinese food. The staff is quite professional but accommodating as well. My issue has only to do with the food and the price/value equation in the respect. It doesn't impress, thought pricing raises eyebrows. I have eaten there regularly for years but in the last year they have begun to take themselves entirely too seriously and stuffiness does not a good dining experience make. Personal opinion, clearly labeled.
The service, quality and presentation are impeccable. It is a fine restaurant. One word if caution - stay away from the tasting men. I don't like them as a practice, and here it was good, but there was one swing/ miss and that is unfortunate. Stick with the a la carte.
Excellent food but short of the fine dining extravaganza you hope for. A last minute decision, adding Wing Lei to our Vegas dining choices was a good call, if perhaps slightly underwhelming.
The space flows perfectly from the rest of the Wynn. The 100-year old pomegranate trees add the ostentatious to a very, very Asian dining room which is much larger than it first appears. Service is solid but not exceptional and adds to the very "workmanlike" feel of the place.
The 5-course tasting menu was no nonsense. A chilled prawn started things off and was the poorest of the bunch. A tremendous truffle dumpling followed, along with a perfect sea bass and wagyu short ribs for the main course. The sea bass was some of the best I have ever had anywhere. each course was certainly interesting and added something different to the experience.
All in all, it's hard to complain about WIng Lei. The food was cooked perfectly, was both interesting and unique and was beautifully presented. But the lack of extras and the automaton service left me feeling like the place was a little too workmanlike.
Still, the reduced price point reflected the lack of extras and I thought there was excellent value for money here (at least on the tasting course). Will definitely return and highly recommend. 4/5.
Great food and service - loved it!. My husband and I ate dinner at Wing Lei in mid-March 2012. Our meal and dining experience was spectacular. We had the dumplings as an appetizer, grilled sea bass, lemon chicken and ja jiang noodles. My husband was skeptical ordering fish in Las Vegas, especially since we live on the ocean and eat fresh fish all the time. He said it was the best sea bass he's ever had. All the food was fantastic, and the service was top notch as well. A friend joined us at the end of our dinner and the staff set up a whole place setting just so she could sample a couple of bites at the end of our meal. We will definitely return to Wing Lei the next time we are in Las Vegas!
Try the Dim Sum Buffet!. Went to try the Dim Sum Buffet on Saturday and was very pleasantly surprised. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese, but the diversity of the offerings was fantastic. We started off with the some of the typical Dim Sum offerings, shu mai, dumplings, etc. The best part of the meal was the expansive buffet which included sushi, lobster, Asian chicken salad, and a number of other hot dishes included some fantastic prawns in black bean sauce. This apparently only occurs durint the Asian holiday so you should check it out while you can!
Great Food and Great Service!. My family went to Wing Lei in July 2009 for the first time. We have a big family with my parents and my children. The food was really prepared nicely and tastes just right. Very creative and well portioned. The service staff is very knowledgable and professional. I give the service staff 5 stars!! Will always come back to Wing Lei whenever we are in Las Vegas for sure!
Pleasantly Surprised!. Friends were staying at the Wynn and picked out Wing Lei to try. I hadn't read many great reviews so I went in with low expectations.
I ended up having a very pleasant evening! From the braised pork belly steamed buns to the walnut crispy shrimp in a honey-peach sauce to the duck so fork tender it was like pot roast... I really enjoyed our meal here!
Wing Lei is a fascinating place. It's the only Chinese restaurant in North America that has received a Michelin star. The restaurant's decor is gorgeous. It is decorated in gold and green, plates are plated in gold and the servers wear white gloves.
This is the Best Chinese restaurant in North America and one of the Best restaurants i have ever tried. I travel often for Business and leisure to many countries so i have tried so many overrated Michelin Guide/Star restaurants but this one is legit. Everything is great from the food, ambience, decor, service. They even give you a really Amazing pineapple cake to bring Home after dinner. A must try if you were in Vegas.
Everything is gold in this restaurant... from the walls to the cutlery. Even the dessert had gold leaf. We had the prawn toast to start followed by the peking duck (carved table side) with steamed bun. The meal was excellent. The service was impeccable. Everything was perfect. This restaurant really deserves its Michelin star.
Wow! This restaurant excels in every category. The decor is beautiful, the drinks were insanely good, the food was delicate and delicious, and the service was the best I’ve ever experienced. We ordered the Chefs Ming tasting menu and enjoyed every bite, though because we did add on the Peking Duck, it did leave us a little stuffed early on. However, they were kind enough to box up our left overs and we were able to enjoy it the next day. Trust me, you haven’t had leftover Chinese takeout until you’ve had Wing Lei’s. Overall, it was a top tier, Michelin star-deserving restaurant that I will cherish 4eva.
Had dinner here for our last night in Vegas and it didn’t disappoint.
The service was incredible. As soon as my mother sat down they brought over a small stool for her to put her purse on for the evening. The waitstaff took time to explain the menu. Service was helpful and attentive without being intrusive.
The atmosphere is simply stunning. It’s gorgeous with golds and greens which creates a very soothing and elegant ambiance. Everywhere you look there is something interesting to look at.
The food is worth the trip. Everything was so fresh and had wonderful flavor. Some highlights: sea bass was the best I’ve ever had, the crab salad was awesome and the cherry dessert was a work of art - we just stared at it for a while before eating and it tasted even better than it looked.
Overall it was an incredible meal and an experience I won’t soon forget. I highly recommend it and would definitely visit again.
Peking Duck: 9/10
Spicy Pickled Fish: 8.5/10
🌟 Experiencing Michelin Excellence at the First Chinese Michelin Star Restaurant in North America! 🌟
From the moment you step into this remarkable establishment, you're transported into a world where every detail embodies the true essence of Michelin service. 🍽️✨
Expect nothing less than meticulousness at its finest—starting with a thoughtful touch: they provide a chair for your bags and even a jacket to ensure your comfort. It's the little things that make the difference!
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the Peking Duck! 🦆🌟 While it might not be the absolute best I've ever had, the experience is truly worth it. The server skillfully carves it right in front of you, ensuring not a single part goes to waste. The meat is subtly marinated, giving it that extra touch of sweetness. Each duck meat roll? Pure delectable perfection!
We also tried the Spicy Pickled Fish, which was delightful, but I couldn't quite discern anything extraordinary about it. As for the fried rice and sautéed fresh veggies, they were good but didn't quite hit the mark of 'extraordinary.'
To wrap up this memorable meal, they surprised us with complimentary dessert and cake to take home. 🍰🎁 It was a thoughtful touch, and the cake was simply divine!
With an average price of $120 per person, I'd say it's absolutely worth trying for the unique experience. While the dishes themselves didn't entirely surprise me, this is undeniably a fantastic spot for a special date night, nestled within one of Las Vegas's finest casinos, the Wynn. 🎰🌆
Don't miss your chance to dine in Michelin style right here in North America!
We went to celebrate dad’s birthday. Elegant restaurant with excellent customer service. We ordered several drinks which were delicious and fresh. We had fried rice, lo mein, sweet and sour pork with shrimp toast. Everything was on point. They even brought my dad a complimentary dessert plate. We will definitely be back!
This is the fanciest Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. Service was immaculate. They gave us a couple of amuse bouches. We got the Wing Lei sampler (king crab salad, bbq spare ribs, shrimp toast), braised pork belly, and lychee sphere. Everything was 5/5 across the board. The braised pork belly was of high quality. They also gave us complimentary desserts. Definitely wear something nice when coming here.
Very well done interior decoration with a great fusion of styles.
Overall the taste is great but a little bit tough to order for one person who is not that much hungry.
Will definitely come back with a crowd and enjoy the variety of dishes.
Desserts and cocktails worth a try!
My first dining experience at Wing Lei and was very impressed. First the service was top notch, best I have received in Vegas at any restaurant. Everyone had a smile on their face and most impressively the staff could actually pronounce my last name which is tough to get outside the state of Minnesota! By the time I got to my appetizer the waiter already came by with a complimentary spot of tea and mango/avocado roll. For my actual appetizer I had shrimp toast which was really good. Large shrimp overlayed on top of deep fried toast. Had a wonderful sweet dipping sauce that made it even taste better. For my entree I had crispy sweet and sour pork. The taste was a perfect blend of pineapple and peppers and had a bowl of jasmine rice on the side. The only negative thing about my stay was the pork wasn't as crispy as advertised. Only one or two pieces of pork had some crunch to it. So when you promote crispy it should be crispy and crunchy on the outside. Finally once I told them a dessert wouldn't be necessary they came with a complimentary mini dessert tower which was way too much. Had the orange and cherry mini bites as I call them and both were delicious. Then, to top things off accompanying my bill was a piece of cake. Are you kidding?? Guess this will be for breakfast tomorrow. OMG. Bar cocktail was also very good. Highly recommend Wing Lei for any social gathering, date night or even corporate gathering. Save your appetite because you will be inundated with food from start to finish!!
Different tasting experience to our normal.
We chose the duck menu and it didn't disappoint. Interesting to see how it was used throughout the courses.
Each obviously had duck. But each completely different flavour wise.
Staff were excellent throughout. Recognised us as a non fussy couple just wanting a good meal. Very friendly.
Recommended.
Beautiful restaurant. The food was amazing and dessert was nice. I’m confused with the fine dining policy. I got refused entry at Mizumis for my shoes since both that restaurant and Wing Lei require elegant dressing. At Wing Lei I saw at least five different people wearing jeans, hoodies and sneakers. I don’t get it. Anyway it was a nice restaurant.
Wing Lei’s accolades are well deserved. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The staff are beyond reproach hospitable. The drinks were a well, balanced symphony of mellow flavours. And the food was lovely. We recommend the table side duck, and wish there was a Wing Lei where we live. Additionally, we had to catch a show so they provided us very prompt service while maintaining a high-level of quality. And, we were gifted little cakes, wrapped perfectly to go:)
Rates in the top 3 best meals of my life. So dang amazing!! Amazing service, and they even have a chair for your purse.
Beautiful space, attentive service, and a classy atmosphere. The Peking duck is not to be missed. The desserts were heavenly.
A girlfriend and I were on a girls trip and decided to have dinner here. The dining room was beautiful and the service was elegant and prompt. I ordered the fried rice and it was delicious. We received these cute little dessert treats at the end of the meal and they were perfect.
Arrived a day early, so came to Wing Lei for dinner for 1. Tried the chefs tasting menu and was happy I did. Plenty of food and maybe even overkill on the desserts. The food, service and atmosphere are top notch here is a great spot not only at the Wynn but on the strip for Chinese Cuisine. Restaurant was pretty busy so reservations are recommended.
Everything about our dining experience was extraordinary! The service was top-notch, the drinks (cocktails and teas) were unique and tasty, and the food (apps, entrees, and desserts) were delicious! We will definitely be recommending Wing Lei to any friends who visit Las Vegas!
