Had a great breakfast here at the Black Bear Diner on Tropicana Ave. Our server Haleigh was fantastic and great recommendations on what to order. The 3-egg omelette with crisp bacon and melted cheddar cheese was fluffy and moist, not overcooked and creamy loaded grits on the side was a perfect compliment. Paired that with a new seasonal Cinnamon Vanilla Cold Brew. A very nice, surprisingly delicious iced coffee which you'll want a 2nd immediately!
The Cinnamon Roll French Toast combined 2 great breakfast dishes into one! All around table favorite!
Great breakfast place. Good staff and breakfasts are quality food and big portions. Biggest fresh biscuits I have ever seen.
Food was so darn good! I got the Joe omelette for breakfast and a crispy chicken club salad for dinner!
Oh my goodness, everything was sooooo good and the biscuit was the most fluffiest thing I’ve ever eaten!! Really good!! And the omelette was not greasy at all and they followed the directions perfectly. Great food! And the fruit bowl was fresh!
We had a great time here. The decor is cute, staff are top notch. Our server Jen was so sweet and attentive! Our food was out super fast and was really yummy. It is definitely family friendly and the menu has something for everyone.
Price: Average $13 per entree. The portions are gigantic so enjoy!
Food: Batter on the fish was pretty good. Could use a little more salt but wasn’t terrible. The grilled cheese looked UHHHMAZING. I don’t have an input on all the items but took some pictures so you can see.
Service: Thanks JANET! Janet was attentive and accommodating. A couple “demands” came from my table and Janet assisted with grace (better than me lol).
Environment: Family restaurant and looks as such. It’s very cozy lol.
NTT [[Next Time Try]]: I’ve had it before but you should try their cold brew. Mocha or vanilla. Also, I had the chowder here a while ago and it was bomb too. Enjoy!
Thank me later ;) Smile, eat, hydrate, and make good choices! Hope to see you out there! xo

Black Bear Diner is one of my favorite spots when it comes to breakfast/brunch (my favorite meal of the day!). Each time I go, service is QUICK and with a smile. The food is delicious!!! This is one of my many recommendations for my out of town guests! No matter which of their locations I go to, I always leave satisfied (& with a full belly, too) 😉
Hey everyone, if you don’t know, now, you know, blackbear diner is spreading fast , and they have good portions, good service, and the atmosphere is very “bearable “. Hi judging restaurant on how many regulars they have and it seems that every server has a connection or seems to know 50% of the dining room. I know I am a return customer and going since I was out of high school and I will continue to go there and bring us there, no question see you next time blackbear
It has been years since I've been here and decided to give it another try . I have to say this time it was pretty good and filling . I got the Big Foot Chicken Fried Steak and Gravy with Grits , 3 Scrambled Eggs , and 2 Pancakes . My server was very nice and I was seated and served right away . The place was over half full which was expected since it was a Sunday afternoon . I also had coffee and a water . The Chicken Fried Steak was pretty big , they do sell a smaller one half the size . I was pretty hungry though , so I got the larger one .
It was pretty good . The last time I came here was about 5 years ago and the Chicken Fried Steak was greasy and just plain gross . That is why I never came back . I had heard from others that it was much better now , so I came back . I really like the decor too which is like a wooden cabin in Lake Tahoe or somewhere like that . They have a large menu and a big display with lots of pies to choose from . Of course I didn't finish all my meal , but I came close . I love Grits and I have to say these were just okay . I have been to only a few places here in Nevada that do grits and most are just okay except for 2 places and the best one is in Laughlin .
The pancakes were big and pretty with powdered sugar on top and two containers of syrup . I thought I might have to ask for another , but they were plenty . They were good also . The scrambled eggs were fluffy and even the coffee was pretty good . I will come back again to try other things like maybe lunch sometime . I'm so glad it has gotten better and gives me another choice to eat at close to home .
I found this place on my way back to LA and stopped by for a breakfast.
I got Classic French Toast and coffee.
French toast was served with plenty of syrup and fruits, and it tasted great.
Also our server was very pleasant, and we could spend a good time.
I hope they will open a restaurant in my country, Japan too!
So...last week a friend introduced me to this place ...and I was surprised at how good it was
....I had the fried fish and shrimp combo this time ..and it was the best fried fish I have had since moving to lovely Las Vegas
