Good for bike riders. John Cutter is my favorite spot for a cold beer after a long cycling day in the red rock canyon. It has a nice patio and a good selection of beer and appetizers.
Great wings great filets great service. A must dine.
Great Neighborhood Bar. The food at John Cutter is really good but over the years either the chefs or the ingredients seem to change every few months. At one point in 2009 I ate there twice in one week ate the same food and it was prepared completely different both times! The staff at John Cutter seems to be exclusively thin women in their twenties, which gives it a bit of a Hooters vibe but I always see families with small children eating in the out door section. The Brunch menu, which is only served on the weekends is amazing, especially the Corn Flake encrusted French Toast ! The great thing about Jon Cutter though is that they always send coupons in the mail for $10 off your meal, which really helps as their prices are a little high but are proportionate to their massive portion sizes. I would recommend any menu item that has a half portion option, that you just order the half portion. Their mixed drinks are top notch and like the food very big but also have a big price tag.
Great Food, Ok Service, A Little Pricey. Read this review all the way through. My experience at John Cutters was both good and bad.
I've lived right around the corner from this Tavern for about a year and decided to visit it for the first time recently. It was busy when I dined here, possibly because there was an NFL playoff game on. We were greeted and seated immediately by the hostess and our drinks came fairly quickly. After that, we waited a little longer than I would have liked to to place our order. When we finally did, I was told that the dish I wanted was either sold out or it wasn't available anymore...the waitress wasn't really clear. Either way, I had to browse the menu for something different. I asked for just another minute and I was given about ten (or maybe more). By the time she came back to see what I had decided on, our drinks were both empty. From there, I finally ordered my entree and we got our drinks refilled. This was the worst part of my experience. The service was not awful (I've had worse) it just took a little longer...again, possibly because they were busy for the game.
As far as the food, it was great! I had the salmon dish and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza and we both agreed it was the best (yes, BEST) BBQ Chicken Pizza we've ever had (and we've both had this dish at quite a few restaurants). The sauce was great and the flatbread it was served on was excellent. I do think the dishes were a little pricey. The pizza was $13 and the salmon was $17. The place is a little more upscale than, let's say, a PT's pub.
I will probably visit John Cutters again, most likely to have the BBQ pizza. I may visit them during one of the specials that they advertised…$1 for either a Pabst Blue Ribbon, Hamm's, or Olympia beer, $1 for sliders, and $1 for fries. The special is offered Mon-Fri from 4-6pm and 12-2am. Not sure if/when that promotion will end but it sounds good to me. They also had half off steaks on Sundays, I think.

Nice Place, Outrageous Prices. Went to watch the game... nice place, pretty good service but the prices are outrageous. $7.50 for 24 Oz Bud Lights out of a can is pricey for Las Vegas.
Pluses -- clean, smoke free, nice big screen TV's great for watching games and the food is good. (Once again though... very pricey.)
Anybody looking to open up a bar should check this place out and how busy it is.... certain proof that the Summerlin Market is very under served when a strip mall bar can get away with those prices... and still fill the seats.
I'll go back... but only because it is so close to home. I certainly would not drive out of my way to get there when there are better values.
I would recommend to everyone!. I just recently visited John Cutter a few weeks ago. My husband and I happened to go there on a Sunday. Their steaks were half price! And I am not exaggerating, it was the best steak I ever had. Although it was busy with everyone coming in for the great deal the service was excellent. I have been back there a few times and everything I have tried on the menu has been superb. This has definitly become the spot for my family and I to enjoy great food and great service.
Best bar in summerlin. What a great bar!!! the food at john cutters is great, try the steaks.. the girls r hot n the one guy is pretty cool. theres no place in town like it. very unique!!!
John Cutter. Wnt in the new tavern and loved everything!!!!
A little pricey but generally good. I agree wit the comments about Cutter being priced on the high side, but discounts are often available...they regularly send out coupons for ten bucks off food, free cocktails, and discount dining certificates are regularly available on restaurant.com for the venue. They also regularly run "two for one" entree and drink specials.
The last time I was there, the waitress gave me a handful of scratch and win tickets that netted me more free food and drinks.
The food, is generally solid... good burgers, huge salads, and excellent thick cut fries. Try the baked mac and cheese with onions side...we're talking real comfort food.
This is the same Owner of Vintners Grill Restaurant. A more casual affair. Located at Charleston Blvd and Desert Foothills.
After taking a long walk near Red rock, we decided to get quick bite.
We shared Buffalo Chicken Wings with fries. The Wings were prepared well and the Mild Sauce had a tiny kick. The Fries were done great slight crunch on the outside and cream center like steak fries.
Or server was friendly but swamped as we never received the Salt and Ketchup we requested.
Food here is not bad at all.
Amazing food, friendly staff and great atmosphere! They have a surf and turf special on Wednesday and Saturday’s for $ 19.99 and on Sundays they have steak specials which I believe are 50% off after 6 pm! On our first visit we had the Cesar salad, salmon stacks and the surf and turf special which all were delicious! For dessert we took the carrot cake home which was equally delicious and moist!! They do not take reservations and can get busy so there may be a wait however we did not as there was one table open when we arrived! They also have limited outdoor seating too! Definitely recommend this place for amazing food at a reasonable price!!
Great restaurant located in the Summerlin area of the Las Vegas valley. My favorite thing about this restaurant is their daily specials. With them, you'll find some amazing values. Amazing for both dining in and takeaway, this is one you won't want to miss.
Cesar salad was tasty, but the steak wasn't anything special. Tried it with the chili oil but it wasn't my favorite. Brussel sprouts were good as well as the nachos.
My family and I came last night for my 50th and my older sister wedding. Last night 7 of us came to eat, talk, laugh at John Cutter. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful. We ate outside pushed two tables together and had a ball. The waitress was on top of her game. Very polite, always checked in to see if we were okay. I definitely recommend this place or even return the next time I am in Vegas.
I enjoy going to JC often for lunch! Maria is always taking care of us and she is awesome with us and all of the clients in genera. She welcomes you from wherever she is at … she can be at the bar, the kitchen counter or grabbing water and she makes sure to acknowledge whoever walks in with a hello and a smile! She gives great customer service! She is on it 🥰 Maria’s personality is so bubbly, fun, with a sense of humor (great positive energy). Maria will make sure to check up on the tables often and she is so helpful to bag your food to go which most restaurants won’t do! The place is nice, clean, good vibe, nice music. People can play the machines at the bar also and enjoy a meal and drinks! I love their food and the prices are reasonable. My favorite day is coming on Wednesdays for the surf and turf deal for $19 all day! I also get the mac & cheese side (regular price) and I add bacon! It comes very hot in a skillet and it’s very delicious! I really enjoy coming to eat to JC and be a regular customer. I always feel welcomed :) Jordan the hostess is very nice, helpful and makes sure the tables are ready for the next customers. She is also on it!Thank you JC and also the ones in the back cooking great meals and making sure they plates look presentable 😉 Great work!!
I took my wife for lunch. We ate the Favorite steak and lobster. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal. The steak was very good. The server was always there to ask if everything was alright.
3.75⭐️ First time here, Wednesday is a surf and turf for $19.99. (Steak &lobster tail) doesn’t come with any sides.
Steaks were cooked correctly but it surely needs some seasonings. Overall it’s a nice experience.
We really like this bar, very cozy inside, service always good, but I wanted to try the weds steak and lobster special for $19. Ok so the saying goes you get what you pay for, the tail maybe was 3 oz? And that is pushing it, the sirloin about 5-6oz , doesn't come with anything else, so if you want a salad or sides those will be extra , the steak was cooked right but it was a little tough.
Husband had ranch chicken sandwich, that was really good. Overall we for sure will eat there again, just no steak special
If you are going out specifically for the Steak and Lobster deal on Saturday night...I suggest going at 5 pm. My group walked right in and sat down, then the restaurant quickly filled. Wait staff isn't very attentive, nor, do they move with a sense of urgency; therefore, don't go with any time constraints. Steak was decent, for me but not a lot of flavor, and the lovster tail was delicious. The plate was worth the $19. If you are going to get sides...each item is plentiful enough to share.
The parking lot is a good size for the bar/ restaurant. The restaurant is of a decent size. The decor might seem dark. The food is pretty good. I love the rib eye. It is delicious. The Philly Cheese Steak is pretty good and a good size. Maria was excellent server
We came for the Saturday $40 Steak and Lobster and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We were lucky and were sat immediately. After we put in our food order the salad and apps came out extremely quick. The pretzels were hot, fresh and oh so divine. For sides we shared (sharable sides) the mac and cheese and cheesy mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese was delicious but too many bread crumbs for my taste. (next time I will ask for light bread crumbs.) The mashed potatoes were what you hope to make when you cook at home but they never turn out right! Fluffy, light and so much flavor. The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium. Our server was oh so sweet and always checking on us even during the rush. One comment I will make though is their water tasted gross. Maybe the ice or their water line but it tasted like pool water or tap water from a fountain. I HIGHLY recommend this place!
Place was super busy and the atmosphere was great. Service was good. Food came out pretty fast as well. Salmon was jist a little over cook but still good. Lobster and steak for 19.99 everyday.
First time. Only complaint was chicken tenders came out wrong flavoring. Taquitos were bomb. Good fries. Cute little spot with a nice bar and some TVs. Good neighborhood joint. Server was friendly and attentive.
Great table service and delicious food. 50% off steaks on Sunday. Mac n cheese is the bomb. Salads are huge enough to share.
The omelettes are really good. I had the JC omelette w no cheese. Marble rye toast. W 3 other people all happy w their breakfast. Service really good too. They have high tables too. Gaming at bar. No smoking too. Next to baby stacks. They also give you plenty of avocado too. Been there two times. 2/2/22 Wednesday Steak and Lobster Tail 3-4oz 19.99 5-6oz steak drinks sperate. Ate about 5x now, never disappointed, cook the way I prefer, service excellent as usual. It's busy Wednesday. Taylor was our server tonight. Thank you. 4/6/22 really good service again on a busy day. Food really good as well.6/11/22- Always excellent service from Maria. Thank you. Ate the Philly cheese steak in a wrap mushrooms and extra onion. Really tasty. Nice High Tables.
Great food and massive portions. They have a nice outside terrace with shadow where you can enjoy your food.
We came here for the steak & lobster special ; we upgraded two meals to porterhouse WOW it was cooked to perfection and felt like a champagne dinner on a beer budget! Thank you Chef and kitchen staff! Every time we come to Vegas we will be back to John Cutter's at least once! Everyone seemed happy to work there! LOVE IT!
