We stayed at the Century House hotel on a Saturday night about a week ago, and I reserved us a table for dinner weeks ahead at their restaurant. It was very delicious, and I bet it is the best restaurant in the area by far. They have an appealing menu and wine list with plenty of options. And while this is fine dining, it is not fussy or over the top. The inside of the dining room has a warm and welcoming, soothing feeling as a result of being a pretty decent decor recreation of a Colonial American public area…fireplaces, lots of wood paneling and warm textures and colors, soft lighting. My prime rib was fabulous, and my husband’s NY strip was excellent. My daughter really liked her lobster mac and cheese. My other daughter thought her mushroom pasta was fine. They enjoyed the calamari and were delighted by the very good bread and butter. We had a bit of a rough night with sleeping in the hotel because a large and very boisterous wedding party occupied the other rooms and they were rowdy until very late, but oh well. I would stay there again anyway because that was just the luck of the draw. The restaurant and the hotel are both good value for the money, and are a touch of the unique but comforting and special in an area full of strip malls and generic chain establishments.

While visiting Albany for the weekend we had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant. The restaurant is lovely and the atmosphere is very nice and The bartender was on point. Our waitress was Liz. She is one of the best servers we have ever had. She was a jewel! After chatting for a few minutes she made us feel like old friends. We ordered the "date night" special. We thought we would share a meal , but no, we each received a full meal. We started with a fresh salad and rolls. Then we had the best prime rib I have ever eaten, shrimp, veg, mashed potatoes and pop overs. We also each received a beverage, hubby had the beer and I had the house wine. We were too stuffed for dessert but Liz wrapped them to go. The chocolate mousse and the lemon cake were both incredible. As a plus, the to go silverware and napkins were very nice quality. If you are ever in the area stop in, you will be glad that you did!

Greeted by the best smile and a wonderful staff. Food was amazing. Not rushed, nor did we wait long for the food. Wedge Salad was perfect, I could have that every day. Special I had was the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese. Ate 90% of it the next day because the salad was filling. No issues whatsoever.

Always a great experience. We got married there 5 years ago in the restaurant in front of the fireplace and it was the perfect setting. Food is delicious and the staff are always very friendly. We had the prime rib and it was great, cooked perfectly and came out fresh and hot.

My wife and I came on Valentines weekend. We enjoyed a memorable evening. Our hostess, Mary was really very nice. She explained the specials and never made us feel rushed. I had the prime rib and my wife had the shrimp special. Both were prepared to perfection. We did have appetizers and dessert which were just as delicious. The ambiance made for a comfortable/relaxing atmosphere. Loved the fireplace! We will definitely return soon. Thank you for a great night.

Always great service and great tasting meals. Love the atmosphere, beautifully decorated. Service was 110% and dinner and appetizers came out without delay. This restaurant has many happy memories for the capital district residents.....weddings, holiday buffets, family celebrations. A very classy place.

We had a baby shower on Sunday, Feb 6 in the East Room. Our hostesses, Penny, Rachel, and Myla, went above and beyond the entire time. They helped me bring things in, set up, even moved a piece of furniture in. They complimented me on the decor many times, and were so accommodating to our every need. Everything was perfect. And they were a big part of that! I would highly recommend having an event here. ❤

Absolutely perfect! We really enjoyed our stay and whole experience as the staff were all super friendly and easy going! We made some really awesome new friends and will be back again! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay as far as the hotel goes and the food at the restaurant and the atmosphere at the bar area was superb! The bartender and his wife were some of the best we have ever seen, serving multiple tables and full bar all with a smile on their faces and they actually took the time to get to know everyone and share stories and laughs! Awesome job to all of the staff at the Century House!! The location is super close to Saratoga/ SPAC without the high end Saratoga pricing, but trust me the grounds, pool area, inside and outside of hotel were spotless and everything was super clean. The full breakfast was the icing on the cake and the weddings were abundant, filling the air with love and happiness throughout the whole building, couldn’t say more good things about our stay!
