In my opinion this the very best Mexican restaurant in Lawrence, Ks. The selection, authenticity and value are superior. The restaurant staff are wonderful and very helpful. Today we enjoyed the fish and shrimp tacos. What a great pleasure. I strongly recommend El Potro for great eating and fun!
Love the food! Complimentary spinach queso and one of the best salsas, plus delicious house margaritas! They do get busy so don't be surprised if you have a wait, but it's worth it! Service is nice and quick also, plus clean restrooms. 😊

Place is very detailed that at times the details get lost with everything that have going on. The people are great and very friendly. Didn't like that they had some TV's in top of the wall right where the table is at. Dust can drop down at anytime and land on on your food. Food was great. Colorful,
One of the best mexican food places in town. Portions are huge, drinks are strong. Service is good. They give you a free white cheese dipping sauce and chips when you dine in.

In our family this is the only real Mexican restaurant in Lawrence. I mean really who else gives you chips and salsa and no extra for the queso cheese when you sit down.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Love it that they not only give you chips and salsa but also give you queso dip as well, which is super yummy.
