I recently dined at Abuelo's with my mom and had a fantastic experience there! We were given great service from Kim who suggested great flavored margaritas.
The menu has a wide variety of fantastic options to satisfy any palate! I enjoyed a Chile Relleno and my mom enjoyed tacos with house-made tortillas. There is a great selection for gluten sensitive people and vegetarians alike.
Another standout feature of Abuelo's is their spacious event space, perfect for accommodating large groups and parties. It's a great place for celebrations with friends and family or work events.
I highly recommend Abuelo's for a memorable dining experience, thanks to the dedicated staff and fantastic leadership. Thank you for a great time.
As soon as you enter your met with stunning aesthetics. Ample seating for large groups and private room available. Fantastic selection at the bar the El Jefe was tasty and smooth. The grande plate had a huge assortment of entrees on one plate. Somewhere tastier than others but most of them were similar in flavor. The tres leches was awesome and a great finish to the meal.
This place is not your standard texmex. They have many elevated menu items and unique dishes. Prices are a higher than your standard Mexican restaurant but the food is more Mexico city style. The chips and salsa comes with 4 salsa varieties to try. I mixed the pineapple with the haberero and that was a great combo. The bacon wrapped shrimp are delicious and really a good size shrimp. We had a minor issue but the waiter was very quick to address. Great break from the norm when it comes to Mexican food. Definitely worth a try. We will go back and you should too.

I had a great time in this restaurant. The place is amazing! I read some of the negative reviews about "being over pricey " but honestly you pay for a great environment. I also want to mention the music was well chosen, Latin no just Mexican music. I went about 2pm on a Saturday and I didn't have to wait for a tablet. The service was great!
Abuelos is located in League City, TX on the I-45 feeder road between Hwy 96 League City Pkwy and Hwy 646. Plenty of parking. Our server was a very nice young man who managed to keep 12 women happy always refilling glasses and getting orders correct. Our food arrived piping hot and the servings were generous. This was my second visit and I would go again. It was very good.
So amazing this place if a Def recommendation, love the food especially the grande burrito 🌯 it was soooooo good!!!
I recently made my way to an Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant and decided on the one in League City, Texas. I was going from Galveston to Hobby Airport and stopped for lunch. It was intentional because someone suggested it. I travel quite a bit for pleasure and with that comes eating out. I am a bit on the picky side though.
When I entered at lunch time, I was greeted at the door and seated in less than five minutes. The server was at my table immediately with chips, a variety of salsas, water and a menu. The menu was pretty extensive but I opted for a lunch-sized option as I was about to board a flight.
I ordered beef enchiladas. It came with a side of refried beans and rice, all covered with the appropriate amount of chile con carne sauce and just the right amount of cheese. I make a point of this because you could actually taste the beef and its seasonings. You could actually taste the refried beans and the rice, all of which was very good.
I liked the decor of the restaurant, that also has a nice bar. The restaurant was well-lit and clean, including the restroom. My server was friendly, efficient and attentive. She made sure that I did not want or need anything else without being overbearing. I thought that things were reasonably priced too.
I would easily go to an Abuelo's again and when I am in the Houston/Galveston area, I will make my way to the League City Abuelo's again. I am always fair when I rate places and I DO NOT GIVE OUT a lot of five-star reviews, they must be earned. The facility earns 4 1/2 stars, the food 4 stars and the waitstaff earns 5 stars. Overall I give this Abuelo's 4 1/2 stars.
My wife and I visited this new restaurant the day after they opened. Even though it appeared quite busy, there was only about a 10 minute wait.
Once guided through the expansive and beautifully decorated restaurant, we were seated at a booth for two and quickly met our server who took our drink order. The drinks arrived very promptly and were accompanied by chips and salsa (including a trio of flavored salsas).
We ordered an appetizer of queso and our entrees. Everything came out promptly and exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the portions quite generous, and the price on par for similar restaurants.
The manager visited our table during dinner and we had a very nice discussion with him.
I highly recommend this new restaurant if you’re looking for a new Tex-mex place near League City.
First time here. The variety of sauces was different, but a welcome one with very unique flavors. We ordered fajita combo with chicken and shrimp. Fajitas were ok. The chicken was tasty, but the shrimp was by far the best and very delicious. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and explained everything in detail. We finished it off with a delicious cheesecake for dessert. Will be back to try other dishes.
I really enjoy this restaurant. The food quality is top-notch. The management team is always attentive to the guests and the direction of the floor. The service staff is knowledgeable. The building is great. They have a beautiful private party room for functions. Recently, they started $6.99 enchiladas on Tuesday. That....is a hell of a deal. In my opinion, this place is worth a shot.
Good service by Dianne (even offered me a Tide stick for this messy Bessie)
Highly recommend the Grande entree. Nice plating and very tasty. Fajita combo (Shrimp, beef, with rice and beans with terrific condiment plate). The beans were perfection. Not overly salty and tender. There’s something for everyone with the four salsas offerings: tropicale, roasted, habanero, and regular mild.Great chips are light, good corn and flour tortillas. Topped dinner off with the Best flan ever! Will definitely go back.
Abuelos is surprisingly large and spacious on the inside.
The servers are polite and quickly provided us with chips and salsa that were very tasty. My Durango burrito was cooked very well and the steak was particularly delicious. I recommend the margaritas whenever possible
The wife and I stopped in today and was very impressed. Has a really nice atmosphere and very clean. The staff was extremely pleasant and prompt. The chips and salsa were very nice with the 4 different types and tasty. Our server was extremely nice and really took care of us well. I had the Laredo and my Wife had cheese enchiladas. I ordered a frozen margarita. Everything was very good and fresh. We were both very impressed with the service, food, and experience. Definitely will be back. Good job Abuelo’s
Beautiful restaurant! Food was very good and I loved the different varieties of salsa! Service was a bit on the slow side with drink and chip refill. Waitress was very nice and might have had tables scattered because I didn’t see many other servers that day. She was very nice. I will definitely go back if and when I am in the area again!
