I heard a lot about this place from my work and had to check it out myself. (I work at a nearby hotel.) I was hoping for a relaxed place to bring friends (and for the casual traveler). This is NOT that kind of place. It's more of a place to spend money to impress your partner. I give it 5/5 for the place as it is. But, I am now much more cautious on referring people to that location.
My guy was very uncomfortable and felt out of place. I spent over $95 on just two dinners, two side salads and two drinks
We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints. From perfectly cooked seafood to very friendly staff this place just gets what high end restaurant should be. Thank you for a wonderful Anniversary dinner, we will be back soon.
The food is amazing (really, it's the freshest seafood in town), Chef Dan Uche is brilliant, and the staff is pretty cool too!
I highly recommend this place to anyone that asks!
I have loved this place for many years! Went there for 10 cent oyster so long ago when it was on the Plaza. I'm so happy they moved to Overland Park and even at $1 the oysters are great. Only $1 during happy hour!
I went to Happy Hour with two friends. Our waiter, Danny, was very attentive. The three appetizers we ordered were excellent and we shared a bottle of wine that was offered at half price.
After having brunch here, you will quickly realize that there is no other place to have brunch.
Had dinner here yesterday to celebrate my birthday. The staff were great and the food was very good. We had not visited since the Plaza . We will definitely be back!
The entire atmosphere was great. The wait staff was very professional. We enjoyed our food and drinks very much. We even took my 7 year old son and the kids menu was great for him. We will definitely return!
They have wonderful food, a great menu and the waiters and waitresses are so friendly and helpful. We all had a great meal and a wonderful evening with hem.
Have never had a bad waiter at this restaurant, always a wonderful experience.

Excellent. Everything.
Crab cakes are my fav!!
Love this place!!
Great service from Keith!!
Fabulous Margarita.
Happy Hour Buck Shuck is the Bomb. Great patio for having a dozen on the half shell and the beverage of your choice.
The Seafood Mixed grill was worth the price. Everything was cooked as one would expect in a top line seafood restaurant. The service was quick and attentive. The atmosphere was very nice with stone fireplaces and wood finish. I will come back when I am in Leawood, Kansas.
Other bouiabaisse was outstanding. My wife had the copper river salmon which was delicious as well. We couldn't finish the meal and leftovers made another great meal. Our server was Todd who is the very best. He came over frequently to see if we needed anything. The biscuits the serve are scrumptious but they too much of them and you don't have room for the rest of the meal
We were at the Bristol to celebrate my husband's recent birthday. Not only was the the food delicious but the service was superior, and nothing beats the warm drop batter biscuits!
As always, for my wife's birthday, we enjoyed a truly fabulous strawberry salad. Then a seafood combo mixed grill and a swordfish dinner for me. We topped off the dinner of the best carrot cake in North America. We look forward to dinning at the Bristol and each time we do; the experience is memorable enough to savor for a long time.

We were very pleased with the food -- the service provided by Todd was delightful. Initially, we were not too pleased with the table assignment. Although we made a reservation, the hostess directed the woman seating us to take us to the back room to a table set for 6. There were only two of us celebrating a birthday. The table had side leaves so could have been reduced to a table for 2 or 4 and the extra table settings could have been removed. So obviously, this was not prepared for two people. We asked the woman if we could have a smaller table. She agreed and took us back to the hostess who grudgingly re-assigned us to a table only big enough for 2 or 4. After the initial experience with the hostess, we had a lovely evening.
I would highly recommend Bristol's to celebrate your Birthday! The table had Happy Birthday sprinkles and a nice welcome card! Food outstanding and service excellent! Food fabulous and drinks perfect! Whole night was just plain Fabulous! Thank you Bristol's you make people feel special! Julie Fase
Best Seafood In Kansas!. We moved to Kansas from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and, while we came to really enjoy the great BBQ and steaks that the Midwest has to offer, we were quite disappointed in most of the restaurants that serve seafood dishes...until we discovered Bristol. They have the best crab cakes I've ever eaten anywhere. Happy hour specials make it affordable to eat there at least once or twice a month, and it's such a treat to receive their birthday gift of a free entrée up to $25. I plan to use mine this week toward their lobster, which is amazing!
Amazing Birthday meal. I had an amazing birthday dinner. The service was perfect, my fish flavorful and cooked just right. I definitely recommend coming to Bristol for seafood.
Love, love, love Bristo!. Always incredible food, service- great happy hour. Love sitting at the bar for oysters, appetizers and their specialty cocktails. Excellent service, always!
Birthday Dinner at the Bristol. Sign up online with the Bristol and get a coupon for a free entree with the purchase of an entree ($25 savings). The catfish I had was excellent and we got a free piece of carrot cake to take home! Can't get this deal anywhere else!
Perfection.. We dined at Bristol for the first thime this past wknd for my husband's birthday. We made dinner reservations, they sat us at a booth. The decor is beautiful. We splurged on dinner with the shrimp scampi appetizer and the lobster bisque soup. (Hands down the BEST soup I've ever had in my life) A MUST TRY. My husband ordered the crab legs, which he loved...AND they took the meat out for him so he didn't have to get messy! I ordered the seafood sample platter with salmon, crab cakes, shrimp, and scallops. Everything was amazing. Our server was wonderful. We finished dinner off with desserts and two coffees. I had the fresh berries and cream, while my husband enjoyed the key lime pie. It was a beautiful evening, and we left stuffed to the max. I highly recommend!
Staple. If you are a fresh seafood fan, Bristol is a great option. Food and service are always good! New outdoor patio with fireplace is great for a crisp fall night.
Lovely. Contemporary, nice ambience. Everything we ordered was exceptional (except the lobster mac- 3/5 stars). I had the cress/beet/Gorgonzola salad which was finely presented on a thin, long plate with four mounds of salad bites that actually was quite filling. The crab cakes were amazing and the wine selection was plentiful with something for all palates. Our server was so helpful and attentive. Would recommend and return.
Favorite Restaurant in KC. I have seriously never had a bad experience at The Bristol. It has the best food in town. I know it sounds strange for a seafood place, but try the shrimp enchiladas there sometime. They are to die for. Love everything I've had, but those are my favorite.
First visit. This was excellent fresth seafood. The choices were spendid and all the food came out to perfection. The atmosphere and staff were great. You can eat inside or on the patio. We will be back.
I live their lobster bisque. If you have had better I am very happy for you. never been to Maine but lived in Miami for 25 yrs so I truly appreciate having the Bristol so near by.

Nice, special occasion place. My husband and I had a very nice dinner here for our 15th anniversary. Very good swordfish and halibut with delicious sides, salad, and a wine flight for each of us. Too expensive for it to be a regular place, but very nice for a special occasion. Nice atmosphere and the server was very good. I'll definitely be back.
GREAT SEAFOOD!!. I LOVE SEAFOOD!! I can't say that enough. My wife knows my passion for it and when I can get fresh (as fresh as living in the Midwest allows) then I will get it. I entertained some out of town guests there and glad we went. Excellent atmosphere, elegant dining, EXCELLENT SERVICE, and the quality of the food was superb. Besides getting a never ending plate of awesome biscuits, I went with a cup of the Maine Lobster Bisque (LOVE bisque) and was very satisfied with that choice. I was torn between that and the NE Clam Chowder and I'm pretty sure that I would have been happy either way. For my main meal (lunch menu) I went with the Chipotle Grilled Shrimp Enchiladas. EXCELLENT! The presentation was great which included a corn black-bean relish and jicama -lime salad. The shrimp was very tasty and had such flavor that you didn't realize you were eating it in the form of an enchilada! My guests all had different items as well. The Lobster Cobb Salad was enormous for the lunch menu, the Seared Scallops were excellent in presentation with a matching taste, the Lobster Mac N' Cheese sounds not so good but was very tasty. The only thing that it could have been was a bit more cheesy and not so dry. Overall though, everything was great from the minute you walk in the door, sit down eat your fist biscuit to the service and beyond.
A favorite. I love The Bristol and am always excited to have a special occasion as an excuse to dine here as it is a little too pricey for a regular night out. We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary here and booked through Open Table, leaving a comment that it was our anniversary. They saw this and decorated our table for us and gave us a free dessert. Absolutely loved the biscuits hot from the oven, the crab cake appetizer, and our entrees of halibut and scallops. We had a fruit dessert as we wanted something light and it was divine, but the chocolate and carrot cakes were tempting. I have also been to Bristol for a happy hour and it was great. We had our own private room and all of the appetizers we sampled were delicious and well portioned. Plus the endless biscuits were great! Made me want to linger! I can't wait to go back and hope to try the brunch soon.
Delightful!. Have eaten here twice & yet to be disappointed. Both service & food have been perfect. The mixed grill is fabulous & gives you a sample of crab cakes, salmon, shrimp & scallops. Love how the crab cakes aren't all breading like a lot of restaurants. Highly recommend! If you're not too full get the carrot cake for dessert...this is no ordinary carrot cake. It is to die for!!!!! I'll get it to go next time if I'm too full =)
A treat. Great happy hour deals, fabulous bar. the bartenders are either great or terrible...food is yum!
Great atmosphere. I had the swordfish and the yukon mashed potatoes. Both were delightful!
Simply fabulous. This has been one of my favorite haunts since The Bristol was on the Plaza. I have dined at The Bristol for lunch and dinner too many times to count and have enjoyed their fabulous Sunday brunch as well.
The service is always solid and often excellent. The food never disappoints. There are often astoundingly tasty seafood specials.
I have also enjoyed Happy Hour there when their appetizers are on sale. Don't miss the tuna appetizer served on a bed of cool vinegary cucumbers--delish!
I've been looking at the reviews from people who seem to dislike The Bristol, which is baffling to me, but they seem to be from people who are going there for "surf and turf" which is why you go to an uninspired place like Red Lobster. Perhaps if they ventured outside their comfort zone and tried some of the wonderful creative selections on the menu, they might be pleasantly surprised.
And for those on a budget, this place is not cheap, but you can sign up online at their website and they'll email you some pretty decent coupons and even send you a $25 off card on your birthday.
My husband loves $.75 oyster happy hour!
Sunday brunch is a real treat. The Bristol recruits and motivates great waitstaff - they are always personable and entertaining
Good Seafood. This is my favorite place in KC for seafood. It's always delicious and the restaurant is very pretty and clean. Lots of good wines too!
Perfect restaurant. Staff, food & atmosphere great!
I ordered the cioppino. The dish was solid, with a lovely sauce, and healthy portions of several kinds of fish, mussels, clams, and perfectly cooked scallops
I've known about this fixture since it moved from The Plaza to its current place on Leawood border. I've always know that they were known for seafood and more expensive fare including beef and more. The reason we had not been before is because of the latt
A special occasion kind of place. We reserved a private room and our server was fantastic. Drinks kept coming, and food was timely and delicious. The maple bacon old fashioned warmed us up as soon as we sat down. I also recommend the lemon shrimp pasta. The citrus broth made the dish feel light while filing. A few of us shared a bite of carrot cake at the end. It's rich so a bite is enough.
OMG! Who knew that a city girl would love me some oysters!!! These are so delicious from Bristol - Rappahannock Bristol Beauties. So good I ordered them twice! Seafood Mixed Grill - Salmon is not the star of the plate, but equally delicious. Crab cakes are sweet, meaty and you never have enough. Buttery potatoes, well-seasoned asparagus (that gets tastier every time I have it). Even made reservations...just for myself and I LOVED IT!
Nice semi upscale restaurant. Food was delivered hot and was good tasting overall. Fried shrimp were generous in size and taste leaned more to good than great. My waiter Coleman was outstanding in both service and friendliness. A definite credit to the restaurant. It's definitely worth a visit. I'll be coming back. Update. Another good dining experience today. I had the grilled seafood platter and it was delicious. Carrot cake was amazing.
It was nice to enjoy the late lunch on their patio. I wish there was no customer next to the entrance smoking tho. But the food and service were great.
Atmosphere was great. We didn't care for our server but the food was wonderful as always. Not a very big brunch menu since covid 🙁.
Awesome experience. I page menu, I page drink menu. Full bar. Delicious biscuits. Seafood galore. Nice atmosphere. Great servers. Kids menu a plus. Will return.
Delicious and surprising entrees. A fully doable cocktail and wine list. Solid service and a very beautiful atmosphere. Very snug and cozy, but somehow still also warmly bustling.

Waiter Staff is amazing and will go above and beyond for you. Not sure if the meals are worth the higher charge. Decent tasting but not something that's begging us to come back
