Really like this place. For seating, there is a good mixture of booths or tables. Server was courteous and prompt.
The food is outstanding. I had the flounder dinner, and just loved it. Portion size was huge. All you can eat options are a great value for just a few cents more than the regular dinner plate. Will definitely return!
I drove from my home near Fort Lauderdale to this restaurant in Leesburg 🚗. I used to eat at the original Cedar River location and the other Jacksonville locations. I came back many times after I moved from Jax. I did find their location in Middleburg and enjoyed that as well. Luckily this place is closer to my house. As expected, I enjoyed my meal of 3-dozen fried shrimp 🍤 along with collard greens and green beans. The included hushpuppies were tasty as well. I washed it all down with three huge glasses of tea. The service was excellent and I bought a t-shirt.
It's your typical fried seafood place. That's not bad, the food is very good. It's mostly a fried menu so know that when you go there. The waitress was nice and the food came quick. There's really not much more to say about it.

We've gone to Cedar River Seafood several times in the last month or so. Our last visit was Friday evening, three days ago. We arrived around 6pm and it was pretty busy, but we were able to get a booth almost immediately. Each time has been similar, a little crowded but not a long wait for a table. The service has been consistently friendly and attentive, even when it's busy. We are surprised by the amount and quality of the food for the price. On this occasion I ordered a SEAFARER’S COMBO for $16.50. It comes with two choices of main menu items. On this plate were deviled crab and fried calamari, with sides of lima beans and cole slaw. All of the dinners have hush puppies too. Almost every seafood item can be ordered fried, broiled, or blackened. It's a lot of food for the price, and quite tasty. It was all worth ordering again. The lima beans are wonderful. The time before this I had blackened grouper, perfectly cooked and more than you can eat. Definitely worth trying if you're a seafood lover.
Unbelievable portions, excellent food, friendly staff. If your in Leesburg you need to eat here. Very close to hotels. Tried it on a whim, place was packed and now I know why. If we're back this way it'll be a must stop place!

Ate here with my mom on a Saturday (8/29) at 3pm. Ashley was our waitress and let me just say she made us feel like VIPs. She was so attentive to our needs we thought we were the only people in the restaurant (it was slammed). The food was amazing (as usual). The portions were gigantic but what really made the experience so perfect was the service Ashley provided. She was fast, kind and treated us like family even though we were strangers. I will definitely be coming back.
Decent portions and prices to match. Food was delicious and served hot! Ordered the shrimp dinner & had enough to bring 12 shrimp home! Server kept an eye out for refills on drinks, didn't have to ask. First visit & will definitely go back!!
This was our 3rd visit and it won't be our last. One is always looking for a very nice seafood restaurant and we've found it. It isn't very fancy but we like the decorations on the walls. The food is always very good & hot. The quantity of food is much greater than equivalent chain restaurants Wait staff is always friendly, it responsive & helpful. The only thing that concerns me was the two previous times we were there the waitresses wore masks. Right now I think it's too early for them to stop wearing them to protect them & clientele.
I had the crab stuffed grouper, and it was delicious. Fresh, cooked and seasoned just right. Sides of lima beans and garlic mashed potatoes were also tasty. A little salty for me since low sodium, but still very good. Waitress was very attentive to everyone. Will definitely go again and try the gator
Cedar River is fantastic! It really caters to anyone and has very affordable prices. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and you provide excellent service. The food is great and is presented very well. There's nothing bad to say really. I would encourage anyone to give this place a try.
