Mid-afternoon & they were very busy. Host explained it may take a bit for our server to come. She was attentive, but it was quite a wait for the food. When it came it was fresh & hot! Shrimp was very good & a first for me peas & peanuts .... Yes Please!!! My friends enjoyed the fried smelt & white fish.
Stopped here for dinner. Sat on the bar side but there is a more formal dinning area located here as well. Had the fish sandwich which was very good. Thin but crunchy batter. Also had the potato skins which were bomb! Highly reccomend those. Joel was our server and he was great, appreciated his insight on the menu options.
Took them a very long time for the food and my grilled white fish was overcooked a little. Chicken wings and pizza were great and staffs were nice and you can tell they definitely care about their employees and costumers.
This is a great place to eat! It can be a little pricey, that's great food, great staff, and great service! They also have a Louie the 14th, cognac whiskey, for $200 a shot! It must be good... :-) :-) now how's that for such a fine tasting cognac whiskey?? If you take the last shot, you get the bottle. The etched, especially word glass, Crystal and beveled glass, make this bottle worth anywhere between $250 then $1,500!
We came from Lake Leelanau by boat and like that we can dock at the library and come in for dinner. Loved seeing everyone's pup's enjoying the evening too. I had the french dip, it was excellent!
Sunday of the 4th of July holiday weekend around 6pm. We were seated immediately, server was wonderful. My husband had a deluxe pizza, our daughter a cheeseburger and fries, and I their half pound whitefish w/a side salad. We were more than happy w/everything, just delicious!
Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and good food to boot!
Food was great. A little understaffed but everyone is now but they handled it well. Hats off to the kitchen staff for pumping out such great food and little help they seem to have. Waitress said they only had two in the kitchen but the portions and presentation of the food was just as good as the taste.
We had a reunion dinner between family, and old friends we've known over 50 years at dinner. My brother secured the room for a private party for 24 people in July. Everyone had a great time! I did not hear of any complaints of service or food. The wait staff served us without disturbing our good time.
We've been coming to the Bluebird since the 1960's. It's been a family favorite all this time! We'll keep coming back into our 80's!
Had a great lunch out on the patio! I ordered the ‘Impossible Burger’, which was OUTSTANDING!!! Definitely returning just for this burger. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have a vegan bun option, but my server (Noelle) made up for it! She was great! So attentive, and what a cutie! Next time I’m in Leland, I’ll be back!
Cutest little tavern in the cutest little town! Great service and food was really good. I got the grilled cheese with tomato, a side salad, and shared some cheese curds. I'm a vegetarian and they didn't have a ton but I read in one review that they will make something if there is nothing on the menu at the time that is vegetarian which is amazing. I'll have to ask next time! Overall, great place and I'd love to come back in the summer.
The Bluebird was a wonderful spot to have dinner at on a beautiful Friday evening in June! Being able to sit river side on the outdoor patio, while enjoying some delicious fish and chips was just what the doctor ordered after a day of exploring in the area. I enjoyed the half pound of battered cod being cooked in smaller portions instead of one or two large pieces - much more manageable to eat.
Best fried Perch in the state so far. Very fairly priced, oversized portions and the best texture in town. Outdoor seating is abundant and spacious. Service and beer selection is above average. It may be a bit of a drive for some Perch, but do it... just do it, it's worth it.
Food is as good as it has been in the past. Always a a nice warm place to meet friends, have good food and conversation.
I had the fried smelt basket. Outstanding! Lightly dusted in cornmeal and gently fried. I also had the plain potato skins which were very different than expected and quite delicious! Literally fried potato peels served with sour cream. Yum and Yum. We sat at the bar and the service was fast and friendly. I gave only 4 stars because the menu I downloaded from the web was not current so the prices were higher than listed. Easy enough to update the menu.
