We checked out the Surfing Crab because we were looking for possible AYCE crabs. This place did not disappoint. The crabs were hot, fresh and were a really good size. Some of the best crab we’ve had in a while. The waiter was hard working friendly and engaging. We will definitely be back when we are in that area.
Omg this is the ONLY place to go for crabs. Absolutely the best crab cakes as well and a shout-out to our waiter Cody who was top notch!
Service, food great. Noise level very high. Communal tables in front , 4 tops in back. Small bar. $$$ for sheet pans of crabs by the dozen. Lots of locals.
A nice hole in the wall spot for good crabs. I would recommend calling ahead to reserve crabs if that's what you plan on getting, they run out quickly. The crabs are quite large depending on the size and location they came from, however larger crabs will inevitably cost more. Although this is a quaint place, the prices are not. Plan to spend money if you're eating here. The dining area is picnic tables, with little room between them. There is outside seating available, but the highway runs adjacent to the seating, not ideal for a hot summer day.
Our service was friendly and attentive, Tyler was fantastic and very timely with drinks/appetizers/crabs.
We probably will not be regulars due to the price, but we will be returning.
A friend recommended this place to us and it's definitely become one of our regular stops when we visit the area. Highly recommend getting the crab soup. We also tried the freshly steamed, extra large half dozen crabs, which I think is definitely worth it. I'm not personally a fan of blue crab only because of the amount of work for the amount of meat (prefer Dungeness myself), but the extra large makes it more tolerable :)
Amazing service and the food was great! We literally searched the entire day for AYCE and we found this beautiful gem! The crabs were hot and the shrimp was delicious! We had to tell them to stop bringing more crabs lol! DEFINITE must visit again. Ask for Sonia!
My family dined at the Surfing Crab last evening. I have been there multiple times and it has always been delicious. Last night exceeded my expectations. Even though they were very busy, the food was nothing less than amazing. The waiters and waitresses were hustling….many trays of the best crabs you’ve ever tasted were being delivered to tables. The crab imperial dip is out of this world. This is a special place and my pick for the number one restaurant in the Lewes/Rehoboth area.
We ate there last night, and they were the biggest crabs I have ever gotten for AYCE in my 51 years. My lady friend ordered the pound of steamed shrimp that were huge and delicious. The young male host was over the top helpful. I thought he was part owner how helpful and hard working he was that night. The place was busy and our server was great and you can tell they have a great team of servers and support staff. They were all young and hustling. The Surfing Crab definitely knows how to hire and put a great team of young people together!
Was coming back from Ocean City & wife wanted crab cakes. Picked here at random but sure glad I did. Server was great ( I should have gotten her name!) & the crab cakes my wife said were phenomenal! That's high praise from her because she is super picky about them having filling. She says they were outstanding! Didn't save me any to try from two orders! Would recommend & will be back!!
My wife and I were there for lunch today and we really liked the food that we got. We both got a bowl of the cream of crab soup(delicious)! I got a 1/2lb of spiced shrimp and the fish and chips. My wife got the grilled shrimp entree. My only complaint would be that the soup could have been a little hotter. Other than that it was great! Also
