4 stars overall: 4.5 for food quality, 5 for friendly service, 3 for efficiency. Expect to wait some even when place is not full (small staff), but the Thai is as good as you're likely to get it the suburbs.

Best Thai!. This is the place to come for Thai! Homemade rice noodles, fabulous desserts, and the pad thai is hands down the best I've ever had. A little pricier than others, but well worth it as the portions as larger than normal. Not as busy as one would expect for such quality, but the food is what you go and return for.
Great Food. They only accept cash, even years after opening. They really care about the food so much, they don't really offer a take-out menu. If you eat in, you will see many, many people showing up wanting to order take-out and they actually discourage this. They don't even like to give out the menu in fear that a competitor will try to copy their recipes. Having said that, the food is great. It is rather expensive, you'll spend at least $30 for 2 people, the menu is all A La Carte. They will come to the table with each selection and explain how to put together the components. They also want you to like it, so they are very careful about making it too spicy-hot. I had to explain to them that we like hot and spicy. I am allergic to peanuts and they went through the whole menu with me showing me what I could have and what items could be prepared without peanut ingredients. Call ahead, sometimes they are closed for private parties.

Authentic Labor of Love. Super sweet family that loves to cook and loves to eat. What other Thai restaurant has a special menu area with dishes that require you to order a day in advance because the preparation is so elaborate?
Cash only! Also, AMAZING. The food is fresh and authentic with homemade noodles. The servers are extremely kind and polite and know their menu very well. We had a great experience. There was an older gentleman who served us and even served the food out onto each of our plates individually. The woman server explained everything to us and was very funny and kind. I could go on and on but this is truly the best Thai I've ever had.
Best Thai food in the area. Adorable dining area and wonderful service. Be prepared to wait, it is pretty popular with few people working. They offer pick-up but find the menu as they take orders based on the item number.
First the food. Everything tastes great I recommend the best tasting appetizer of chicken satay I have ever eaten. The main dishes do not taste how you would expect those dishes to taste in a more fast-food like Thai place. They taste different and better in most ways. I love how many of the dishes will only be prepared with advanced notice. It shows a care for the dish being made.
Next the location. They could have picked a better spot for their upscale restaurant I hope they do well despite that. The decor,flatware/serving-ware ,style is very pleasant and is a perfect place to bring a date.
Now for the service. If you are no used to a different culture's hospitality style, this place may make you a bit uncomfortable. It can best be described as overly helpful. This style of hospitality does not make me uncomfortable so I do enjoy myself. I hope they do well despite this.
I've been there several times and look forward to going back. (trying a new dish each time)
Thai food made with love. This family owned restaurant is Thai food at its best. I travel weekly and seek out Thai restaurants. I can't say I have ever had better Green Curry than Thai Gourmet offers. It was superb!

I was hesitant to try Thai for the first time and LOVED IT! Plus, they were so polite and respectful throughout the meal. The waitress explained everything and took the time to help prepare some of our food :) It is family owned and operated.
There is a secret Thai restaurant in Libertyville that people need to know about. It is a hidden gem; a true family Thai restaurant. Imagine home made noodles, what about home made fish sauce and even home made coconut milk. Before the restaurant is open, the chef is prepping all of her home made products.

I can not rave enough about the food. Yes, it is cash only but well worth it. I never thought that my favorite Thai restaurant in the US is in Libertyville, IL.

Spicy Pad Talay...best ever. One cook and cash only, but worth the wait. Contribute to this restaurant, they are the authentic Thai people and food.
Each dish is fully homemade (noodles and all) and incredibly delicious. That also means it takes a long time to make everything, so don't expect to stop in for 45 minutes. If you've got the time it's well worth it!

Little inconvenient they don't accept credit cards but food is so good it is worth it. One of my favorite dishes needs to be ordered the day before and I don't always plan that far ahead but when I do it is worth it!
