Do make reservations prior to your arrival. Food is delicious and service is great. Be ready for shouts and fire since a lot of regulars will order Saganaki. not sure how i miss that out from menu 😔

We went for a birthday dinner and tried a bit of everything. Everyone loved the saganaki and said it was the best they’ve ever had. I love Greek restaurants and my family enjoyed this experience and had a nice time. The staff was extremely accommodating with the reservations and the service. They made a special salad for my daughter since she is a picky eater. It was just a nice friendly vibe and the food was great. We enjoyed it, so thanks for making the night memorable.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chrissoulas, a Greek restaurant that left me with mixed feelings about my experience. As soon as we walked in, we were promptly seated, which was a positive start to the evening. The overall ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a delightful meal. Let's start with the food. The watermelon ceviche was a standout dish that we thoroughly enjoyed. The combination of fresh watermelon and tangy flavors created a refreshing and unique taste. However, we were disappointed by the portion of shrimp in the ceviche, as it was quite skimpy. While the dish itself was delicious, the lack of shrimp left us wanting more. We also tried the Saganaki, which is essentially a slab of deep fried cheese that comes to the table flaming… It was a pretty cool experience, and the cheese had a really good crispy crust, but it was fried cheese at the end of the day. ☺️ On the other hand, the antipasto at Chrissoulas was simply phenomenal. It exceeded my expectations and can easily be ranked as one of the best antipastos I have ever had. The variety of flavors, textures, and high-quality ingredients made it a true delight for the taste buds. Moving on to the drinks, we were pleased with the selection and found them to be delicious. The restaurant did not disappoint in this department, offering a range of refreshing and flavorful beverages that complemented our meal perfectly. We finished our meal with the bread pudding, which we were surprised at the presentation, it was a great one, but not your traditional bread pudding they deep fry a slab of bread pudding, and top it with ice cream. It was delicious but a little awkward to eat Unfortunately, the service fell short of our expectations. While our waiter was competent in his duties, he lacked a welcoming demeanor. As one of the last groups in the restaurant, it seemed as though the staff forgot we were there towards the end of the evening. We experienced prolonged waiting times of around 10 to 15 minutes between check-ins at our table. Additionally, the loud music and playful behavior from the kitchen became disruptive and somewhat intrusive to our dining experience, especially towards the end of the night. Despite these shortcomings, our overall visit to Chrissoulas was a good one, primarily due to the great food. The waiter, although not very welcoming, was pleasant enough. However, the lack of attention towards the end of the evening and the noisy atmosphere from the kitchen did detract from our overall enjoyment. If you're seeking a Greek restaurant with a welcoming ambiance and impressive antipasto, Chrissoulas may be worth a visit.

W-O-W. Being from Iowa, we don’t have a lot of great Mediterranean or Greek options so I was really excited to try this spot after several people recommended it to me while visiting family back home. I cannot say enough good things. This place absolutely delivered. Impossible for a foodie to decide what to get with all the incredible options, but luckily we tried many things! Have to give a shout out to our waitress who was very familiar with their menu and ingredients in the dishes. Love the vegetarian options. 100% will come back and try to eat my way through their menu. Note: limited parking and reservations are absolutely necessary, especially on the weekend. Favorite dishes: Moussaka, Watermelon Cucumber Salad, and Shrimp Ceviche (appetizer special that night)

The Branzino was excellent. The skin was crispy while the meat was moist and flaky. We enjoyed the patio on a nice summer evening.

The food here is excellent and very special. Starting with the grilled octopus or avgolemono (egg lemon soup) is always a treat. We recently had the sea bass and seafood stew - both were very well prepared and truly enjoyable.

This was a great spot. It was a word of mouth recommendation, and it totally delivered. The menu Mediterranean with an emphasis on Greek. I ordered the Lamb Lollipops and the Gyro Plate with a Jack and Diet Coke. Nothing to complain about. Simply delicious. The staff was very friendly and the owner came by to ask what I thought of the meal. Looking for something to complain about...maybe parking 🤷‍♂️ But honestly even that wasn't bad. I walked a block to get there. Would for sure recommend this spot, and when people come visit this is where I'm going to take them.

Four of us went for the 1st time and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service while we dined outside. Great to patronize a local restaurant. We had a drink with the saganaki, hummus plate, stuffed pepper with lamb, watermelon salad, chicken kabobs, Greek chicken and the seafood Stew. Everything was fresh, well prepared and very tasty. Rachel was a wonderful waitress. Would definitely recommend and will be back to try more of their menu.

Hosted a baby shower at this wonderful, cozy venue and couldn't be more pleased! Nick and his staff were incredibly accommodating, helpful and professional! We were able to decorate, and the food was delicious! (When women go back for seconds, that's a good sign! LOL) The relaxed setting made it difficult for guests to leave when the time was up! Thank you for making the memory even more special than it already was!

We liked this place for our date night. We had the ceviche that was a special, the grilled octopus and pastitsio..but the best was the bread pudding dessert. That was superb! Our waiter was also very lively and friendly, we really liked him.

STELLAR FOOD! I have never known if I would or would not like Greek food. Well, now I do; the food here is authentic and delicious. I got a not very Greek food but performed in a Greek style, a delicious burger. The burger had a creamy sauce on top leaving my mouth watering for more. The burger was juicy and tender, while still being well cooked to my liking. The service was excellent, we will be ordering again soon!

The food was good for the price. We had the the Sea Bream, Octopus appetizer, Fisherman Stew, and Greek Salad. The service was exceptional! The waiter was awesome and the food was prepared relatively quickly. Now why 4 not 5 star? The indoor atmosphere was VERY LOUD. We asked to be seated outdoors which was much more quiet and tolerable.

As a local Libertyville resident, I always wonder about this restaurant every time I passed by downtown Libertyville. Finally got to visit it on last Thursday night. The place was almost full on regular weekday around 7pm, and that’s a good sign of a good restaurant. Although the place is classy but the ambience is very relaxing and friendly. We ordered saganaki and house spread as appetizer, surf and turf and shrimp kabob plate as our main and baklava for dessert. All the meals are very delicious and enjoyed by everybody on our table. Our server is very nice and explain the menu well to us which is greatly appreciated. Overall we would visit this place again, and so glad to have Chrissoulas on our MainStreet Libertyville.

If you're craving for seafood for a weeknight dine out, you don't need to go far. Libertyville downtown has Chrissoulas. The roasted branzino, lobster rolls and Greek potatoes are amazingly delicious! The service is prompt and friendly in a relaxed atmosphere.

On a sunny Sunday morning, we decided to give Chrissoulas a try. We only ate once here before and it was dinner carry out. This restaurant features outdoor seating along the side of the restaurant as well as in the back. We were sat by friendly staff but had to wait a little bit longer than expected for someone to initially come by. We ordered drinks to begin with while we were looking at menu and waited over 10 minutes for them. That was the only negative. We decided on the gyros and the lamb bacon burger. Gyros was nothing spectacular, but the burger was 10/10! It exceeded our expectations. Definitely recommend the burger and will for sure be stopping by for it in the future.
