We had a large group and ate outside under the canopy with a gas heater running as the weather was cool and misting. There are also picnic tables outside of the canopy and indoor seating as well.
The fried clams were excellent and the surprise corn bread was great!
The oysters were big and delicious.
The baked haddock was delicious and served in the dish that it was baked in.
The view is fantastic! The pleasant staff checked in with us, making sure that the food met our expectations. Great views of the ocean water.
View was nice, and seafood was fresh. A bit expensive for the size, but this is standard for seafood. Terrace outside with water view was great. We tried some beers and they were also great.
If you are looking for a quaint little place with inside and outdoor seating and view of the bay, where the locals go to eat then this is the place. It came recommended by our dear old friend who lives nearby and it did not disappoint. Yes, there’s glass fishing balls hanging from the ceiling and old lobster fishing memorabilia on t tree he walls. So if you want more upscale seating with upscale prices and lower quality food, then head to the pub next door. Everyone was having the fresh lobster and my wife had the lobster stew which was so rich with big chunks of lobster flesh that she could hardly finish the bowl. Check out this place if you want a true taste of Maine.
We have been on a Lobster Roll weekend and so far these have been the best! Tasty and a great portion. We also enjoyed clams and onion rings! Worth a stop!
The fried clams and scallops are amazing. My wife commented that the clams were the best she had ever eaten. There is seating inside and out. The outside area is in front of the beach and has a great vier of the bay.
Excellent food with a super view. Outside dining. Takes a while to get your food.
Oh, my gosh...the 'Lobster Roll' at McLaughlin's Lobster Shack was delish. At the time of buying, my roll was $28.00-and you got quite a lot of lobster meat. If you wanted a Lobster Roll Basket, you pay only $5.00 more and get fries and coleslaw. I opted for an order of onion rings with my lobster roll, they were yummy and it was a large serving for just $5.50, so one could share. My hubby bought the steamers with hot drawn butter for $29.00, and said they are fresh, tasty, and worth every penny.
"We ALWAYS stop at McLaughlin's when we are in Maine, as it is our favorite place to get steamers and lobster."
Fried clam and scallop baskets, Ice cold pale ale, on the water! Perfect summer meal.
Great waterfront location. Good lobster roll as expected in this part of the country. Avoid the shrimp stuffed with crab flavored breadcrumbs. Family restaurant and the staff are very nice and friendly. I’d go back and try some of their other offerings. Maine lobster is expensive no matter where you go.
We ordered the lobster dinner which was fresh, sweet and came pre cut so no need for cracking tools. It came with fries slaw and cornbread which were all good. Good view for outdoor dining and small indoor dining area as well.
Sitting outside and being called by number is not ideal but we’ll worth it! The lobster roll was all about the flavor of lobster. Not an over powering added anything. The clam chowder was fresh but not the best I’ve had but an A for effort. Would definitely be back. Also the $ should be $$$ not $$. Not complaining but like to know ahead. 98 for soup lobster roll and beer.
We've been eating seafood all over New England and this is the BEST! I had the charbroiled scallop basket with grilled vegetables. What a relief after only seeing fried stuff everywhere. The scallops were delectable!
The lobster rolls are deliciously scrumptious. The onion rings were mediocre. The lady working the register was a delight to talk to. Overall, it was a great visit and we would definitely come back here. ^◡^
Best lobster roll ever! This little Shack is very casual with outdoor seating. My favorite, was checking out the live lobster tanks and selecting the lobsters to be cooked. So much fun!
As always my scallops were delicious. The view is great too. We go out of our way to stop here a few times each summer.
This is a regular stop for dinner for myself, my family and the 18 households that rent camps from us in the summer. Favorites are the crab rolls, haddock sandwiches and the Ceasars salad with scallops. Plus you can amplify your meal with things from home.
A decent amount of lobster on this Maine lobster roll. It was very nice to sit outside, listen to the waves, and eat good food that was pulled out of the ocean not long before.
