I have passed this place on SEVERAL occasions, so finally the Mr and I decided to try them out. Before we entered the restaurant we stopped two young ladies and asked them how the food was. They raved about how good it was and even showed us the scrumptious salmon with yellow rice and cheese steak they purchased. The Mr ordered the cheese steak combo and I had the fish sandwich combo. I knew he was satisfied because he didn't talk much, lol. My fish was very well seasoned, the roasted bun was moist, the lettuce and tomato was fresh and flavorful, and the seasoned fries were delish. Both meals were super-filling. I have now been back practically every weekend with the goal of trying a new item each time. Oh, and by the way, although the place is small, we dined on and the customer service was superb. Will be back....weekly, lol.
I was referred to this place by a property manager in that area. Don't let the name fool you, Yes, that chef is skinny but he knows what he's doing. I went hungry and left satisfied. I ordered the chicken platter with yellow rice and added cheese. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the rice had some special sauce in it.
I had a awesoooome meal at The Skinny Chef Cafe today. It was my first time eating there, not only was the food affordable it was also very flavorful. I would highly recommend it was lunch or dinner.
I moved from the Lithonia area many years ago but have the occasion to go there from time to time for various reasons. While there today, I found this quaint little cafe tucked into the old buildings of downtown Lithonia. Although everything on the menu looked delicious, I decided to try the fish and shrimp combo. It was amazing! Everything was seasoned to perfection and it was hot and fresh.
This black owned business has consistently hot and fresh food from wings to burgers to fish to salads to pasta. Definitely worth a visit...Plus the chef is literally skinny. Lol
I ordered the shrimp platter and it was absolutely amazing! Well seasoned. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I'll be back soon.
Our food was superb, and the customer service was top notch! If you ever think of going to Red Lobster, go to the Skinny Chef Café instead! You will get better food and you won't feel like you wasted your money.
After moving to Lithonia and getting out meeting people I found this spot.The food here is Awesome! Love the wings and the slaw dogs!! I'm hooked
Loved the food. I got the daily lunch special, inexpensive(cheap)😂. But the food was excellent. It is a great deal. I will be back.
The food is definitely worth the hype and was pleasing to everyone in my party. Every dish was seasoned so well and the food was piping hot. The only downside was the wait time because the gentleman was working the counter and also cooking so it took at least 30 minutes. Overall, I will definitely return and have to mention the portions are HUGE and enough to last for two days.
I love my food every time. Portion sizes, freshness, phenomenal work. It's definitely worth the wait. Every order is made to order so it's always fresh. I only hate that there's a wait out having to hope he's open but can't rush perfection from the one man show. He does everything himself and he does an excellent job by himself. Timing is only thing would change if I could but I'm patient so I'll wait. Great job Mr skinny.
The wait is sooo worth it! Go buy some ice cream near by or go for a wall, cuz the food is seasoned to perfection *chefs kiss!

The Chef unfortunately works alone, so it takes time to get your food, and at this time due to a staff shortage, you MUST walk in and order ONLY. I'm not lowering his ratings because he can't find people who actually want to work. I'm a Corporate Recruiter and deal with that issue every day! The pandemic has created a lazy workforce, so businesses are doing the best they can! The food is cooked fresh to order and therefore piping hot. Everything is fresh, well seasoned, and he provides LARGE portions, not stingy at all! The Skinny Chef has great positive energy and CLEARLY cooks with LOVE! I have been craving skinny Chef’s meals for the longest, it’s been so hard to catch him on a good day where he’s actually open. Which i completely understand because he does an AMAZING job. My whiting sandwich was absolutely wonderful , crunchy, seasoned , i loved it so much. You can definitely have my business anytime we can catch you open. For the people complaining about the owners “attitude” need more grace with small business owners. This man does it all by himself so even if it might take some time he’s giving you QUALITY food. DELICIOUS. Direct and to the point does not equal rude. Be focused so he can get you in and out and be on to the next!
