Fantastic little restaurant. Their appetizers are good enough on their own. I highly recommend bringing friends who don't mind sharing and just getting a bunch of appetizers. I personally love the alligator bites, pulled pork nachos, and mac n cheese. There are some really inventive dishes that I doubt you'll find the like of elsewhere in the city. And their peanut butter chocolate pie is hands-down the best peanut butter dessert I've ever had. Oh, and a very long beer selection including many locals on tap.
Don't sleep on this place! I've never been disappointed.
Great food and spectacular service. The food is the absolute best Little Rock has to offer. Grilled oysters, smoking spicy redfish with garlic grits are the best. If you're still hungry save room for dessert and enjoy the PB pie or bread pudding. The wait staff is the best and nicest people ready to welcome you and give great suggestions. This is a place you must eat st if you're in Little Rock
Never had anything on this menu that wasn't delicious. Brought out of towners who have been before and now request Maddie's when the come down from Illinois. The chef and owner, the staff and the food all top notch. Thanks Brian.
Ordered the buttermilk fried chicken, Mac and cheese and the greens. Huge portion size! Chicken was quality and hard to find the buttermilk batter on any menu. Mac and cheese was special - it backed up that yard bird nicely. The greens paired so nicely with the crunch of the yard bird and creamy Mac and cheese. I was impressed and more than satisfied! Slow clap.

I ordered the shrimp and grits. I'm super picky with seafood and food in general. Our food was superb!!! I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. It's been a little while since I've eaten there. My other half and I will definitely be back. My compliments especially to the chef! 💯
Had dinner there last night for Fat Tuesday and they were packed! Young lady behind the bar was swamped and needed help, but she did a great job considering. My medium rare ribeye was cut a little thinner than I like. I was afraid it would be overdone, but was cooked perfectly and smothered with shoestring cut truffle fries. Very tasty!. My kids mac and cheese was hands-down the best I've had in town! I don't normally get dessert, but can never pass it up when bread pudding is on the menu. I was not disappointed. It was fantastic! Bonus points for handing out Mardi Gras beads at the hostess check-in! Laissez les bon temps roulez!
Been eating here since they opened and it’s always excellent. I can not recommend the Redfish or the Fried Chicken enough!
After hearing good things about Maddie’s, I chose to have my birthday dinner there last night. It was all amazing! No wait even though the room was full. Great service. Everything we ordered was delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Been going here since they opened, never had a bad bite of anything. Gumbo & bread pudding is the best to be found anywhere.
I googled for good eating around the Riverdale 10 area since we were catxhing a movie later. Came upon your spot and I was immediately interested because that's my mom's name. Loved the Louisiana/Cajun atmosphere and the food was really good, a little pricey l, but good. We definitely will be back!!
Fast service, delicious fresh food, kind staff, welcoming environment! Keep it up Maddie's!!!!
Great food and a great place to have seafood in Little Rock.
I wouldn't know where to start. This place is amazing. Get the meat pies or parmesan truffle fries on the appetizer menu. The gumbo there is absolutely amazing. So is the peanut butter cheesecake. I can't wait to go back!
An absolutely terrific ribeye! Great flavor amd the fries are to die for!
Best restaurant in Little Rock
Very lovely little ‘hole in the wall’, with cozy, down home feel. Lots to variety on the menu.
Husband and I split the salmon dinner, which was really awesome! The only down side is the cost is a tad high, so be prepared.
Maddie’s is my favorite go to restaurant in Little Rock. Spicy chicken po boy is killer. Seasonal special grilled oysters are the best ever. They are inventive and fresh. Plus the staff is excellent.
We've been thrice, and each time the food was exquisite, no matter the order. Each time, we start with the deliciously breaded fried green tomatoes topped w/lump crab, green onions, and a remoulade sauce. The dish is just too good to pass up. We are getting the meat pie app next time though! Last night, I ordered the fried oyster salad (go ahead and get the whole), and it was divine. The hubs ordered the special - Ribeye topped with frites served with grilled oysters- and it made me the tiniest bit envious. We believe sharing is caring so at least there's that. My only regret was not ordering the chocolate peanut butter pie with caramel sauce. I came home instead and ate the ice cream in our freezer.
This is a casual, A+ restaurant, that gives great attention to their food. They get really busy and close at 9pm on the weekends so come early and hungry. You will not leave disappointed, unless maybe you decide to forego dessert. I hear they have a delicious bread pudding
Service was great, food was really, really good. Atmosphere was perfect. I travel extensively for work and I will add Maddie's place into my Little Rock rotation for sure.
Went to Maddies this week for my second visit. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back with a definite New Orleans feel. The menu is varied with a good selection. We started with the salmon dip as a starter. It was good but could have used more of a salmon taste and a little less cream cheese. I had the salmon with grits and fries. The fries are unique and very good. I don't usually like grits but these were very good. The salmon was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I finished dinner with the bread pudding and it is a great dessert. My wife had the 24 ounce rib eye and it was cooked and seasoned very good. Service was excellent! We will definitely return.
Favorite Restaurant in Little Rock. Maddie's is by far my favorite restaurant in Little Rock. They have a great drink selection and service never disappoints. The grilled oysters are our go-to appetizer and they are amazing. Their ribeye special is one of the best in town and the truffle fries complement it perfectly. My wife always gets the fried chicken and absolutely loves it.
Great food, large portions, menu variety, service on point.
Can't get there often enuf! Buttermilk fried chic, macncheese & greens is killer. Big portions. Best smoked salmon salad on the planet? May be! We always get friendly service too. Only complaint is they WILL NOT substitute anything on the menu, which is a trifle much. But we forgive and go back.
Great food. I've honestly only had their po boys and they are delicious.
Great food. Casual atmosphere. Diverse beer selection. Fav menu items: grilled oysters, Macncheese, shrp and grits; fried green tomatoes.
Great Lunch Specials. Great combo lunch specials- for $10 (which includes tax) you get to pick a half po boy and small salad, soup or red beans and rice. The salmon salad with candied walnuts is one of my favorite things to pair with a po boy. Very delicious!!
Not a better NOLA experience in Little Rock! You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu!
Favorite. My favorite restaurant in little rock. Whether you go in for lunch or dinner it never disappoints. The shrimp and grits are the best. I also enjoy going in early afternoon and just sit at the bar and chat it up with the bartenders who are very nice.
This is the second time I've been here. The first was lunch and has the roast chicken salad and smoked salmon spread that was great! I visited here for dinner and it puts lunch to shame! We started with the truffle Fries (best in little rock I think) then I had the braised chicken thighs with bacon goat cheese risotto! It was fabulous! The chicken was so tender and the risotto was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent and and the atmosphere is so very cozy and quaint! I can't wait to go back!
Excellent food, great, friendly & helpful staff (thanks, Amy!) and awesome lunch specials. Fried shrimp po boy was spot on. Will be back soon.
Good but.... Had the gumbo and small portion of shrimp and grits entree. Gumbo was good - different, but not as good as Faded Rose next door. Shrimp & grits were very good, and sizable portion for being a half. The menu has a lot of interesting items and I will be back to try them. However... what grossed me out was where they placed the tray for dirty plates and glasses - about an inch below the window/shelf where they set the food out for completed orders. Yuck! I watched my waitress dump a couple of dirty plates in the tray and then immediately pick up my entree plate with the same hand and bring it to me. I took a big swig of my beer and tried to forget about it. Others might not be so forgiving.
Delicious if you find a parking place. Some friends invited us to meet them at Maddies on a Friday night. We had never been there but were familiar with the limited parking for restaurants in that area. Sure enough, we drove their tiny parking place three times before someone pulled out and we could park. We were seated immediately though. My husband got the shrimp and smoked cheese grits. I tasted his dish and it was delicious. I got the fried chicken plate which came with mac and cheese and collard greens. All good except for too much vinegar in the greens. The vinegar taste overpowered the greens and bacon. I also take exception to any Southern cooking place not serving rolls or biscuits. If you want french bread, that's extra. We then split a bread pudding and that was superb! I would go back to get a half order of the shrimp and grits and some more of that bread pudding. Hubby wants to try one of their Poboys at lunch. We thought it was too expensive though. My chicken plate was $15.50 and hubby's full order of shrimp and grits was $19.50.
Go Here... Often. In my humble opinion, the best food in LR and I'd dare to say the state. If you like Cajun influenced food. You can't, not, like this spot.
I would recommend:
Appetizers: Fried Green tomatoes or Chargilled oysters (both deadly)
Entree: Shrimp & Grits or Fried Chicken
Desert: Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie... no doubt.
Drink an Abita too, get the whole experience
Overall rating (A+) just the best possible. Last meal before execution type place
One of my top for LR. I first fell for this place over its shrimp and grits. it is a rich, creamy, smokey delicious dish. i like to bring people from out of town here bc it has been consistent great food.
Our first visit to Maddie's Place was great. We started with truffle Parma fries. Had never tasted truffles and first bit was really different. One of those things you can't stop eating One dinner had crawfish stuffed catfish and the other shrimp and grits. I never ever eat grits but these were delicious! Creaming and tasty with the reduction sause so flavorful, the shrimp large and tender. Everyone was very happy and full. We will go back when in Little Rock. Hats off to you Chef. Service good too.

Yummm. Salads are very good! Po Boys are great!
A new favorite for us. My fiance was craving Gumbo and wanting to try a new restaurant a few months ago. I found Maddie's while doing a google search for local cajun cuisine. So glad I did! We have now visited (as a couple and with my 3 younger sons) several times and we always walk away happy. Great service and wonderful food. My fiance always orders Gumbo. Sad to discover on our last trip that Baked Oysters were no longer being served (our favorite appetizer). Kids love the fried alligator, poboys, shrimp and grits. We've ordered lots of different entrees and appetizers and never been disappointed. Best warm bread pudding I've ever had and their pecan pie is out of this world.
Only negative is, comparatively, their prices are a bit high.
Amazing!. The food at this place is amazing. A little overpriced and the portions are on the small side but it's really good.
So far I've liked everything I have tried, the shrimp and grits are my favorite.
Some good, some less than... We are fans of Maddie's Place but our latest visit had some disappointments.
The server, Jennifer, was fantastic. We could not ask for better. Our table of four shared fried artichokes, gumbo, grilled oysters, oyster po boys and bread pudding.
Artichokes, gumbo and grill oysters were great! I guess the po boys were assembled before everything else was ready because that wonderful, crusty Leidenheimer bread had gotten soggy cold. Even the hot tasty oysters could not save it. We all agreed the bread pudding was good but would have been so much better had it been warmer.
Overall, it was a fun night with friends at a fun place. We will go back.
Madelicious!. I love Maddie's salads. I gave up meat for Lent and ordered a salad with salmon or grilled shrimp almost every day. It wasn't until the day before Easter that I met and fell in love with the baked oysters. They also have a well-stocked, full bar with a wonderful Bartender!
Decent Cajun Fare.. It's not New Orleans, but it'll do. Cool atmosphere inside, even though the exterior reminds me of Joseph's coat of many colors (or a 64-count box of Crayola crayons) maybe a bit too much. The location, situated beside LR restaurant landmark, The Faded Rose, has gone through several unsuccessful incarnations (Maddie's was immediately preceded by a bad Mexican place), but I believe Maddie's Place will be the one that finally sticks. My initial visit was for lunch.
I started with some chicken andouille sausage gumbo, which was nicely done. Tasty roux with sufficient spice. From there, I moved on to a shrimp po-boy sandwich, which was dressed with lettuce and tomato, remoulade sauce (substitute mayonnaise, if you prefer), all tucked inside two pieces of Leidenheimer French bread. Remoulade sauce was very good, as were the shrimp. Maddie's also offers catfish, crawfish, and oyster po-boys, as well. I am excited to try all of them. A glass of their sweet tea hit the spot.
Maddie's Place also serves up standard Cajun entrees like shrimp and grits, seafood and sausage jambalaya, creole seafood stew, and red beans and rice, to name a few. The menu contains appetizers like crab cakes, fried alligator bites, and boudin sausage balls. I am eager to return for dinner, so I can begin to sample some of this fare that sounds so appealing, and will also try the bread pudding for dessert. Try Maddie's for yourself.
I wasn't brave enough for the crawfish. The catfish, greens, and black eyed peas were delicious. There was a tiny bit of heat to it. Enjoyed with a sweat tea.
I had a shrimp poboy, and it was absolutely perfect! I work in the neighborhood, and I needed something before my shift. My boss suggested I do take-out from Maddies. My food was prepared exceptionally and in a timely manner. I WILL be back!
EXCEPTIONAL!. Excellent food and service. We started with the fried green tomatoes with crabmeat. Great start to the meal. We dined on pulled pork nachos (was told it was the best nachos they had ever had), seafood pasta with artichoke cream sauce (I tasted a bite and it was exceptional!). I ordered the shrimp and grits, and I must say it was top of my best ever eaten. We finished with an order of the bread pudding, which was a perfect end to a great meal. Hands down, my new favorite restaurant.
First of all I wouldn't put Maddies in the American food category-Cajun is more like it. I was just upset that I couldn't order one of everything! I can't believe their neighbor, Faded Rose is still in business!! Great food and great service!
I love this place!. The soups are sublime! I always try a cup of the daily special. The salads are generous, fresh and delicious. The salad dressings are creative and made from scratch. I wish I went more often.
Shrimp Po Boy. I'm normally generous with my food, but not when it comes to this. It's too good to share.
Great place with a great atmosphere!
Wow. This place is the real deal. Family from NOLA , so we know good cajun. The soft shell crab is perfect. food consistently solid good. Only negative is that they are closed on Sun. Love it.
May be the best.... I eat at Maddie's at least once a week. It is simple, fresh food executed perfectly. Well done Chef Brian and well done Maddies. Little Rock is truly lucky to have you here.

The white bean and ham soup is a must order.
A NEW FAVORITE. The meal I had at Maddie's (shrimp po-boy, parmesan soup, creme brulee) was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Our waitress was pretty on top of things, too. I'll be back soon.
Great food. My wife says she likes every single entrée on the menu.
The food was superb: Grilled Shrimp Salad: 1/2 order Cornmeal Crusted Chicken Tenders w/Shoestring Fries (yes, 1/2 orders are available for a lot of the selections); Crawfish Po-Boy; Crawfish/Shrimp Po-Boy.
