Very good food and service. We got lucky with a quiet restaurant during weekend dinner. We tried kebabs on server recommendations. Kofte was amazing And Chicken shish was well marinated and cooked. Definitely would eat again
They have their own unique take on Mediterranean food all of it is delicious and priced right. The lamb is tender and melts in your mouth. Fast and friendly service.
Best place to get Mediterranean food around! Love the dolmas, cigar pastries, falafel, and the lentil soup. The pita bread is fresh! I mean, really, it's so soft and delicious. Service is good. The place is kind of small, so it's not the best for big groups. But a good place to go for lunch or a date.
Perhaps my favorite restaurant in Little Rock. Food and wait staff are top notch. The Babaghanoush is a must try. You'll receive a hardy meal at a most reasonable price.

Food was okay. Odd strip mall atmosphere. Seems strange in this day and age when you can't see the kitchen or have any idea where or how your food is prepared. But overall the food way good.
Delicious Lunch Stop. Glad that I discovered Istanbul while out shopping for groceries! Tried a kofta sandwich and an order of dolmas.
The dolmas appeared to be housemade, and were very tasty. The tinge of lemon made them very refreshing as an appetizer.
The kofte sandwich (in pita) was very flavorful and well prepared. The cacik is tasty, and a little more on the sandwich would be perfect to compliment the spices in/on the kofte.
With a single waitress to handle the entire restaurant, she never stopped moving. Service was prompt, friendly, and professional.
I'll gladly return and will recommend this place to friends.

The food was authentic and absolutely delectable. The service was great too, and you are served an enormous amount of food for a low price. It's a bargain. Plus, it's local and not a chain, which is another reason to dine there.

When you order sandwiches to go, check that everything is on them. Once or twice I've had nothing on them but meat or bread.
Great food! Great service!. Ate here the other day for the first time! By far the best Mediterranean food in town. My waitress guided me through the menu since I had never tried the food before, and her advice was perfect. For an appetizer I shared the cigar pasty with my friends, so addicting! I had the beef and lamb doner sandwich and it was perfection! I was sat right away when walking into the small, quaint, and friendly restaurant. My waitress was extremely friendly and got everything I ordered in a timely manner and kept my drinks full. I also had the lentil soup and the mediterranean salad! WOW! After dinner, I tried the rice pudding which was served cold with walnuts and cinnamon... definitely the best dessert I've had in awhile. I cannot wait to come back as soon as possible to try whatever else they have!
Tonight I got to enjoy this wonderful place for the first time. I had never been to a place such as this one. The food was outstanding! My waitress was really helpful by explaining what her favorite dish was. I got to try the red roasted pepper hummus which was just outstanding!! I also got to try the iskander which was just something that my taste bugs never experience before. The waitress there took care of me so well. My glass was always full and she got me everything I had asked for. This restraunt has to be my most favorite places I have been too. I will back to see the istanbul crew very soon! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to give their taste bug a little treat!!
Great Place. A friend brought me here for lunch sayng how much he liked it. The place was quite busy but i understand why. The food was really good i had the kofte sandwhich and loved it. The staff was very friendly and quick on service. The waitress made sure that we were completely satisfied with our meal and always made sure our drinks never got low. I will definitely be coming back.
I've never been so satisfied after a meal than I was at Istanbul. I had the doner kabobs which were amazing! Besides the awesome food, the staff was super friendly. Our waitress (Kiki i think?) was as cute and sweet as could be. Definitely going back to Istanbul soon. Try this place if you never have
Delicious food!. Great restaurant. Nice environment. The service is terrific! Every time I eat there the food is fresh and very tasty!! One of my favorites is the Turkish pizza. Also like the Ephesus cheeseburger (one of the BEST tasting cheeseburgers in the LR)

Delicious Dining Experience!. I recently dined at Istanbul Mediterranean Restaurant with a few friends last week and absolutely fell in love with the place. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and all of the staff are highly knowledgeable about the food, and so enthusiastic to share with you what they would recommend. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with authentic Turkish ornaments and beautiful pictures of the country as well. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. And the plating was done so lavishly. Each entree comes with a side of rice, french fries (for the less daring!), or vegetables, as well as a soup (my favorite is the full flavored red tomato) and the choice of three salads as well! Believe me I was stuffed, and had enough to take home for later as well! I was somehow convinced to find room for a little dessert (I chose the profitorole) and was extremely glad I did. Little flaky buttery puffs filled with a cold creamy filling and drowned in chocolate with a sprinkling of coconut flakes? HEAVEN! Overall, my experience at Istanbul was extremely inviting and I will definitely be heading back!

A Local Favorite. About a month ago, a friend told me to check this place out so I came in for a taste - and left addicted! Such a clean, quaint, and authentic dining experience unlike any other I've found in Little Rock. The prices are super reasonable and you definitely get your money's worth because the quality of food does not even compare to Taziki's or Layla's. Unlike FoodieCuisine's review, I find the pictures of food in the menu to be very helpful. Don't you hate it when the meal you ordered comes out in a smaller or larger portion than what you thought it might be? When it's served as something you didn't quite expect? To critique the pictures is just silly. It is only helpful, especially to those who are new to the Turkish cuisine. The service is fantastic and obliging... If you have allergies or a diet you are watching out for, the menu and servers will assist you in ways like holding off the pita bread and putting fresh cucumbers and tomatoes to go with that delicious hummus instead. Needless to say, I go by regularly to get my fix of their one-of-a-kind white jasmine buttery rice with a Beef/Lamb Doner sandwich. Now I'm telling my friends, family, almost everyone about this place because I find it to be an underrated establishment.
Nice to have around.... It's not bad, but the baba ghanoujj was cheaper and better at Layla's. The food was well-prepared with excellent service and the environment was nice and incredibly clean.

Outstanding!. I've lived in Little Rock for 3 years and I can't believe I just found out about this place, especially since we shop regularly at Fresh Market in the same plaza. This is the best Mediterranean food I've had in Arkansas. The chicken shish kabob was so tender moist and flavorful, that my girlfriend thought it was a scallop when she tried a bite off my plate. The baba ganoush and pita were excellent as were both different kinds of salad. Turkish coffee was a little on the mild side, but good. The only complaint we had was that the doner was rather greasy. We also loved the ambiance. It was elegantly decorated and very clean, yet has a cozy feel, which is amazing for a small storefront restaurant. Waitstaff very attentive and helpful. We will be eating here again soon!

Excellent food!. My mother is Greek, so I know all about traditional Mediteranian food. I LOVE coming to Istanbul! I haven't had anything bad off their menu. Their humus is EXCELLENT and I am not usually a fan of humus. I highly recommend a visit to Istanbul.

Fresh food and great service. I dine here at least once a month. They have a variety of Mediterranean dishes. I believe I've tried all of them, and I have enjoyed everything I've tried.
I recommend the Iskender kabob and the hummus the most, but you can't go wrong with anything.

Nice lunch alternative. I just tried Istanbul for the first time. Based on their website menu, I chose the doner wrap and fries for lunch take out. The sandwich was very similar to a gyro, but milder. Don't expect the punch of gyro-spiced meat; you will actually get more of the beefiness flavor.
The doner meat is wrapped in a hot pita with sliced tomato and sautéed onions. The cool, cacik sauce, on the side, seemed milder than Greek tzatziki sauce. Delicious.
The fries were normal restaurant fries, and they tossed in condiments automatically. Everything was still hot when I got to my destination. Expect friendly wait staff. The sandwich and fries were a little over nine dollars, which makes it a nice lunch alternative.
Love the Soup. I suspect those that don't like this place don't really like Mediterranean food. It's not my favorite food either, but the food is fresh and prepared well.

What is Turkish for Yummy. Okay this is good. yesterday lunch was the 2nd time and both have be real good. Try the Red Pepper Hummus. We had the Doner Kebab, falafel and soup. I was sorry that I was full ...I really wanted to eat another.
Hands down the most flavorful meal I've had in Little Rock that did not rely on a sauce to complete the flavor. I started my lunch with the roasted red pepper hummus which came with light and fluffy fresh pita bread. The kind server recommended the Adana Kabob that did not disappoint. Perfectly seansoned meat, bright cacik sauce and more of the wonderful pita bread. For lunch it came with soup which I substituted for the Shepards salad. It was healthy with outstanding flavor and perfect for this 100 degree day. Winner winner-not so chicken dinner!
Awesome Hummus. Most notable for theif hummus and pita bread! Although they do not serve alcohol, we enjoy the small, quaint restaurant and staff is pleasant.
Generous portions and inexpensive. Our food was wonderful and I took plenty home to make another 2 meals. Try the Lentil Soup it is great. They don't serve alcohol however so for a special date night we will go somewhere else.

Great hummus appetizer with toasted pita that I'd bet both are homemade. the Doner sandwich (beef/lamb) is yummy. During the week they include a beverage & soup with your entree, which is well under $10. Highly recommend Istabul!
Fresh,good food!. This is a very small, but well managed restaurant. The ingredients are VERY fresh, and the salads are out of this world! The tomato-basil soup tastes homemade, and authentic. The humus is the best in Little Rock; they have two: traditional, and red pepper. Their traditional is phenomenal!! Best kept secret in west Little Rock!
What a treat!. This little charmer is always spotless and attractive. The food is delightfully scented and flavored and bespeaks the care given to selection and preparation. Conveniently located near Fresh Market, it is our first choice for lunch when we are shopping in the area.

Istanbul Mediterranean Cuisine in the Pleasant Ridge Shopping Center is a demur little place, with six booths and six two-person tables pretty much fill up the dining room. Rustic dark woods and sage green seats complement the red and gold pendant lights and the wall-sized mosque image on the back wall. The menu includes sodas, several varieties of hot tea, and both regular (American) and Turkish coffee amongst its beverages. When in Istanbul do as the Istanbulites, as the saying goes, so we gave the latter thick, syrupy beverage a shot.
