Love this place. Great cheap cold beer and a simple menu packed with delicious food. A must if anyone is in the Stift Station area or Little Rock in general. Great oysters on the shell and good crab legs for Little Rock.
It may look old and perhaps a little seedy, but The Oyster Bar really is your best place to pick up a po boy in Little Rock. The food may not be fancy but it is good and it is steady. Disregard the ancient wall panelling and enjoy some oysters and sandwiches.
OMG Fantastically great! Cold brew and seafood! Operated by the same family for many years! The chowder is the same today as it was in 91 when I first ate there! While looking like it could be a dive, the food is impeccable and divine! Order hush puppies with your meal... You won't be disappointed!
Great place!. Nice casual place for seafood!
HOLY COW. If you like raw oysters and shrimp in a laid back atmosphere, this is your place. It's rare to find a real "oyster bar" and I'm glad I've stumbled upon this place. This will be my new favorite oyster eatery in LR. Dozen oysters on the half shell for $8 (ANYTIME), can't beat that. To my skeptism, I wasn't sure if the oysters would be fresh tasting, chilled, etc.; however, to my surprise, it was everything I wished for it an fresh shucked, chilled oyster. Maybe I just went during the peak of their performance, but none the less, will be going back.
Great Meal, Good Times As Usual ..... Just had lunch at the OB once again and again they did not dissapoint. Great fried oysters, shrimp of all kinds and fried clams. Wish the hush puppies were not out of the freezer, but other than that another great visit. A must when in Little Rock.
Very good. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. Me and my girlfriend split some peel and eat shrimp and crab legs. Everything was very fresh and tasted great. And its a very laid back easy going atmosphere
Cozy dive restaurant with big oysters and cold beer. What more could you need? They also have a mix-your-own cocktail sauce station. The service is kind of slow on the weekends, but still worth it if you're hungry for seafood.
Little bit of heaven. Moving to Little Rock after being stationed in New Orleans, I was itching for some Cajun cuisine. Found the Oyster Bar...THANK YOU JESUS!! The seafood gumbo and the shrimp po-boys are excellant!!!
Lovin Life, Lovin Little Rock!!
Cool without trying to be. Good food and relatively cheap beer. Had the oyster po-boy which was great tasting but a little small in size for the price. Also tried the "special" shrimp creole. Skip it. I will go back and try some other items next time. Service was a bit lame - I asked for Tobasco sauce, and was told where to go get it across the room.
Bread, fried okra, and Bass beer.. If you see someone in here eating the aforementioned things and only those things, you have found me. I love the Oyster Bar, I come here exclusively for the atmosphere and when other people make me but I still think it is cool. Y'all alright by everydayfoodeater Oyster Bar, also the parking lot rules and has helped me lots of times.
New Favorite Place. As a former Louisianan, I love my seafood. I also love hole-in-the-wall places patronized by local people. The Oyster Bar has both. The service is good here but what we come for is the food. Nothing like oysters and a cold beer.....excellent. John has the "make your own sauce" sauce down to perfection! We've been twice and the first time I had the grilled shrimp....so yummy! The second time we both both the fried shrimp and the fried catfish. Will definately get the grilled shrimp and catfish. I wasn't crazy about the breading on the shrimp and they were cooked a bit much for me. Rest assured Oyster Bar.....we are hooked! See u Friday!
Shocking...in a good way. This place is awesome! We had raw oysters and cold beers! The oysters were surprisingly fresh, creamy and excellent! The service was great! The beers were ice cold! It has a really casual atmosphere and really shocked me!
Excellent raw oysters & boiled shrimp !!!
Fun fact. The building used to be a grocery store, owned by my great-grandfather. I believe the floors and the punched tin ceiling tiles are still the original from that era!
I always get the etouffee, oysters, and a nice cold beer. Service is quick and casual, napkins = paper towels on the table. I appreciate being able to mix my own cocktail sauce because I like it much spicier than most places serve it!
Just Ok. Friday Night. Hadn't been in years. 1 lb. of peel em and eat em shrimp $17. Just ok. Chicken Gumbo recommended by waitress was waaaay over spiced. Red beans and rice were spicy and good. Noisy atmosphere, casual and relaxed. Parking behind and on side street.
Service was very good. Beer and wine.
Dustyherk. Ate there last week. My wife and I had the oysters and they were great. perfectly sized and slightly salty. Washed it all down with a cold guiness ....so good!!
Oyster Bar Rocks. This "dive" has been a staple of LR for a long time, and still serves up some of the best seafood in Central Arkansas. I love the "make it yourself" cocktail sauce area. The get fresh oysters in on Thursday, so anytime over the weekend, they are absolutely incredible. Really love this place!
"Local Treasure" review by Pam says it all! Definitely a local hole-in-the-wall joint that serves great food and atmosphere! Highly Recommend!
Try the spicy chicken po boy with cheese! Alaskan Crab Legs! Good happy hour!
Music, food and service outstanding!!! Great place to relax after a busy day.
Love it!. Nothing is better than eating a spicy chicken po boy and listening to the juke box!
Great place for a pitcher of beer and a po'boy. Best jukebox in town.
Local Treasure. A local treat for many years, red bean and rice (on Monday nights it is all you can eat!), all kinds of PoBoy's (my fav is oyster, but my husband loves the sausage), gumbo, boiled shrimp, and oyster's on the half shell. If you are looking for a great affordable place to eat with the locals this is certainly one you don't want to miss. Check out the juke box ...it's known as one of the classic's!
...serves a variety of Cajun style food including shrimp creole, raw oysters, po- boys, and fried fish.
