Went to the one on John Barrow Rd. all around good experience, food very good, prices fair and home fries were just right. Sandwiches are served on bread not buns.
Out of town surprise. Being from Texas, I always take friends BBQ suggestions with a grain of salt. While I am sure most locals love their spots, I also love mine and I usually leave disappointed. But, I keep trying anyway. Now... Sim's was different. This is some great BBQ, even if I had never heard of a smoked bologna sandwich with coleslaw. (which was out of this world) I also tried some pork sausage ( great!) and slice brisket (good, but not as good as TX) When ever I make it back to AR, I willl be visiting Sim's again!
Best BBQ in town!! I always get a pulled pork sandwich and that's all that is needed. The service is good and food is good. Been going there since high school for a long time they would see my friends and I drive up and have our plates ready to within a few mins. Even gave us free sandwiches and extras to go!! That's great service!! Can't go wrong there!!
Number one on my list for their sauce and chopped beef sandwiches.
Real Southern BBQ. This Sim's is my favorite. I love the chopped pork plate! The BBQ sauce on the table is super spicy, The sides are terrific, and I really like how its served with wonderbread. Nothing fancy just real homecooked BBQ.
Best Ribs in Town. The ribs are juicy, big and smoky. The sauce is spicy and adds the perfect touch to the ribs. The greens are flawlessly flavored with pork and with the cornbread crumbled in it's practically a meal in itself. I love the sweet slaw and potato salad as well. Pulled pork is good but the ribs steal the show.
Excellent food. Have been here for lunch many times and never disappointed. The half chicken dinner is scrumptious! It's a small chicken, don't worry, you can eat it all. Good tea too.
Had the rib dinner for $8. So much food and I can put it down. Decor leaves little to the imagination but service is nice and homedown.
The Best. The best BBQ in LR.
There are two types of sweet potato pie. There's the really sweet version, and there's the spicy, more savory version.
Sim's falls more on the savory side, but splits the difference as well. Made over the years by different members of the family, the pie has essentially remained the same over the past several decades -- a spice-packed smooth concoction packed into a simple flour crust.
