Decided to try little rocks sushi scene out. Ordered black dragon roll, philly roll. 8 piece sashimi. Black dragon roll was really good except it had cucumber in it which threw off the flavor. It was still a good roll. Ok next, the philly roll is a staple of any sushi place. This one come with green onions on it. I thought ok... philly rolls are good as they are but the addition of the green onions made it so much better +1 to the chef... sashimi consisted of tuna , yellowtail ,escolar (they called it white tuna) and salmon.all were very good... . If your in downtown little rock stop in this little joint and let them feed you. You'll enjoy it....
Great sushi! Not the best atmosphere or location, but service was excellent. Had the butterfly maki roll and the holy moly maki roll. Got my sushi fix and I'd return for more!

Every time I eat here I get the Little Rock roll. It seems to freak people out to think about potato salad inside of a sushi roll, but I promise it's great!! It's got a crispy outside and when you bite into it the potato salad is hot and creamy. All of the fried rice is fresh. The miso soup is a must. This place is overall wonderful. Best sushi I've had in little rock.
Work week dinner.... Just tried this place for the first time today. Definitely highly recommended for Sushi...have tried many places around LIttle Rock for sushi and I have got to say this little place is tops. Recommend several of the sushi rolls..and the tatiki beef was excellent. Beer prices were good for what we got. Definitely plan on going back!
Went for the first time today and was very impressed with the service and quality of the food. The waitress was very friendly and was very helpful. I had beef tataki and various types of sushi, all were delicious and reminded me of when I lived in Japan . I will definitely be back!

Great sushi, nice place. I read the other reviews and figured I'd try the place for myself. First off, prices seemed VERY reasonable. Service was extremely friendly and even though the other reviewers say it's slow, our service today was quite fast.
The food itself was delicious. We were in time for the lunch special, so we tried a sushi combo and a bento box. There was plenty of food in each, especially for the price. I had never had a bento box. Look them up, they're pretty tasty.
The sushi itself was amazing. I had the Happy Chad roll which is a salmon roll and it was easily one of the best salmon rolls I've ever had. Big pieces of salmon in the roll and very expertly prepared. It was presented nicely on the plate as well.
Overall, we would highly recommend this place.

It's slow. I'm not gonna lie, the service is slow. The waitress once overheard us talking about how slow it is and she told us that it's the Japanse culture to be slow and take your time.
She said the owner/chef guy has asked them to slow down the service.
I love the place, it think it's reasonable and the sushi is very tasty. The lunch special is a great deal. When I order from the menu I like to order the Crazy Maki.
It's worth it.

On my first visit the waitress helped me pick out my menu items. I loved it. Now I go there all the time. I normally try the specials on the chalkboard on the wall. I have never been disappointed.
Sake Bomb!. I like to bring friends here because it's one of the few places that you can do traditional sake bombs, the service has always been great but I've never been at lunch. Very attentive with the drinks and the food is always good esp. like the new roll, hot summer. One roll is big enough for a whole meal.
Love it!. I love their sushi (tightly rolled - doesn't fall apart)! The bento lunch boxes are also very good. Have tried the salmon teriyaki and the vegetable box. Both super super good! And it's a bargain at around 9 dollars.
Love it!. I love this place. We always get the bulgogi and it's great. I don't get too excited about the side dishes but they aren't terrible. The sushi is good too. The Little Rock roll is irresistible.
Favorite sushi in Little Rock. Super reasonable food and drink prices. Huge menu to choose from, and several options I have never seen at any other sushi restaurant, even restaurants in chicago, new York, and Australia. I love the staff they're always super cool to me when I go in.
Great Sushi!. Love the huge variety of sushi to choose from. They also have the best Fried Rice and my 7 year old loves it.

One of the best places to get sushi in Little Rock. They had an authentic menu and the food was prepared much faster than other sushi bars in town. I'll be back many times.

I visited Hanaroo with some good friends for dinner a few weeks ago. Two of us shared some rolls and another just ate sushi. We all had their delicious seaweed salad and I highly recommend it. It's quite a texture experience, but if you can push through that, the taste is worth it. Their rolls were prepared quickly and well. They had a wide selection to choose from and didn't try to combine silly things like mango, raw fish, and BBQ sauce like Sushi Cafe does. This restaurant lets fish taste like fish, and when I want sushi, that's a great thing. The only negative thing I have to say about our dining experience is directed at the dismal location and upkeep of the restaurant itself. The first thing you'll notice when traveling to the restaurant is that you suddenly wish you remembered to bring your gun. The next thought you'll get is, "wow, is this a restaurant?...ok..." When you go inside, you'll be slapped in the face with a wall of propane gas smell. I honestly was surprised the place didn't ignite while we were there. Other than the bad setting, the food and wait staff were great. I am going to "Like" this one, but I think the location is enough to keep me from returning. At least when it's dark.
Great Service and Food and Drinks, Bad Location. I met clients for lunch at Hanaroo around noon, it was very busy but we were seated and ordering in less than 10 min, the resturant was packed but our waitress was still very patient and helpful in explaining what came in the bento boxes and I was thankful for her suggestion on the Tuna Tataki Bento, it was delicious. A great place for a business lunch. I have also gone for dinner and I found the same friendly waitress who was helpful in pointing out local favorites, such as the sesame tuna and pork shumai. You could tell at night it is a much more local only crowd. Very inviting still, chef sent over a free appetizer, they were giving them to everyone that night, a kind of crab omelet which was delicious and not on the menu. It was a wonderful meal. The only compliant is that when I left at 9:00 I did not feel like it was safe to walk the block to my car due to nightclubs that looked very dangerous.

The best fried rice ever!. This is hands-down my favorite sushi joint in the LR/NLR area. Great sushi, great service, quaint, cheap, fast, and the best fried rice ever! That may not sound like much of a claim, but trust me, it's fantastic!
Terrific Sushi! Husband and I checked it out looking for a different sushi bar. Everyone was very nice and did a wonderful job. Nice because it doesn't have the habachi grill smoke and dramatics which can be distracting to a pleasant meal. And it was a pleasant meal. The rolls were delicious. We will be back and will bring our sushi loving friends.

I am sitting at the sushi bar waiting for my 5th to go order in 2 weeks. This is a strong indicator that the sushi amoung other items here ROCK! My personal favorties: spicy scallop salad roll, beet tataki, kani su, mussels yaki and I am planning to add to this list several more times before I move away from Arkansas. Mr. Yu=excellent sushi!

Best "little" place around! Sushi rolls were awesome at a great price, and I eat sushi EVERYWHERE. Menu is huge so there's easily something for everone. :)
Best Sushi!. Awesome sushi. Try the Downtown Roll. Tropical Roll is delicious too! My son and I have been coming to Hanaroo's for many years. The place is not fancy but the food is delicious. My only choice for sushi in Little Rock.
Best sushi in town!. I'm a sushi freak and i have been to sekisui, kobe, kyoto, mt.fuji, wasabi, and other japanese restaurants so far. however, Hanaroo is the best to my taste. the sushi meat is comparably fresh (i disagree with the other person's review about it being not fresh). and the servers are very very nice and friendly. the prices are reasonable too. sometimes the chef gives out free ice cream desserts if he feels like it. these are the reasons why I've became one of the hanaroo's regular customers. ohh and i lovveee their special rolls! you have to try every single ones. they have such a wide selections and they are allll nice. yammy.
