best prices and best sushi i’ve ever had

Fantastic Sushi. My wife and I love sushi and we have trouble affording it sometimes, but this place has by far the best value for sushi we've come across and the quality doesn't suffer one bit. We'd eat here every day if we could afford it. I haven't had anything on their menu I didn't like yet, and it's all very fresh. If you love Sushi and you live in the Livonia area, you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to try them out.
Loved It!. I wanted to try a new sushi restaurant and saw all the great reviews so I had to try it. I'm always a little nervous when a sushi restaurant is in a strip mall. My husband and I loved it! We tried four different rolls, miso soup and spring rolls and were not disappointed. It's a cute little place and the sushi is fresh and delicious. They don't offer a huge selection of sushi rolls but what they do have is wonderful. This is our new go to place for sushi.
I have been going to New York Sushi for a few years now. It is always my go to sushi place in this area! They're really affordable and always have amazing quality to their sushi! Small menu, but everything that I've tried has been perfect. Great flavors, I would recommend their spicy crabmeat and spicy tuba rolls. I've tried both of these other places and am always disappointed that I didn't go to the New York instead!
High quality for a low price.. Was working late and was craving sushi. Did a quick search for places in my area. Due to the great reviews I decided to try. Like other reviewers have noted, this is a mom and pop diner style joint.
The sushi is without a doubt some of the best I have had, and I have been many spots in and out of Michigan. The low prices scared me but I'm glad I took a chance. Very small menu, but in my opinion that's a good thing. Do a few things great instead of a lot of things decent.
Got several rolls including specialty rolls and still spent under $20. Shrimp tempura roll was very crunchy and tasted great. Most times it doesn't have a crunch except the tail.
Sushi House used to be my go to place in Livonia but NY Sushi wins that battle hands down.

Decent price, limited menu. The spicy tuna was actually spicy, which is a plus. Service needs major help. Great place to pop in if you need your sushi fix.
I had been driving by this place about 4 times a day, but had avoided it just because it looked tiny and I was unsure of quality. One day I decided to take a shot at it since it is about a half a mile from my office. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and price. I typically eat at izakaya sanpei, which is near my house, but now I eat @ny sushi about 3 times a week. It is no frills compared to where I usually eat, but the man and woman that operate it are very sweet. I've yet to be disappointed. My only gripe is that the cucumbers are sliced chunkier than I like, but if it keeps the cost down and allows me to eat sushi everyday, I will not complain...

Good Value, Good Sushi, Small Selection. Tucked away deep in a strip mall - what do I always say about hole in the walls - anyhoo...tucked away deep in a strip mall, New York Sushi offers a small selection of basic sushi rolls and nigiri for an amazing price.
The small place seats maybe.. 10. And the husband and wife team are both cashier, waitress and chef. They are nice and she is a comforting waitress, almost makes you feel like your at grandma's..."You want more kimchee? I get more kimchee" and she runs off to the kitchen.
New York Sushi offers only about 10 different sushi rolls and they are the basics. No weird tempura- philedelphia-cosmopolitan-not-real-sushi-rolls here. Just your basic raw fish with a few extras. But its good and its fresh! And...And...IT'S CHEAP.
They have a few other regional dishes...rice, katsu, kimchee, udon, bulgogi (or however you spell that) but really let's be honest, I can get fried rice almost anywhere...her I get CHEAP fresh GOOD sushi.
I mean $3.00 spicey tuna and $2.50 california rolls? And they aren't tiny either, they are regular size rolls. Just goes to show all that fancy decor....doesn't make better sushi...just higher prices.
The menu is limited but everything is very good and the prices can't be beat. New York Sushi is a small, clean, and well run storefont in a strip mall and is easy to miss. If you are in the area and want some tasty sushi at a reasonable price, this is the place.
Great value.. Nice little place. Very friendly and affordable. I avoided it at first, then saw a few online reviews and decided to give it a try.
I had a spicy tuna roll and bulgogi. Very fresh sushi and a steal at $3. The bulgogi was tender and not too sweet. I actually should've just stuck with the bulgogi, it was plenty for lunch.
A diner seated next to me got the Dragon Roll. It was huge and looked delicious, especially for $7.
I will definitely go back soon.
I like..... Stopped in to NY Sushi this week and really enjoyed it. The prices are very good compared to alot of the sushi restaurants in the area.
Best sushi value in Detroit area IMO. I love sushi. I am no connoisseur, I just know what I enjoy. I have had better sushi and I have had cheaper sushi. There isn't enough room for a sushi bar, and there is no Kaiten-zushi belt. The selection is relatively small. Just a few tables, great prices, great sushi and great service.
I'm so glad my boyfriend and I found this place. It is an incredibly price for the amount of sushi you can get. I enjoyed watching the Tigers game while eating sushi it was the best!
This is an exceptional sushi resturant. Clean, attractive and great service. The sushi is very well priced and is also the best sushi I have ever had. The staff is adoreable and polite, and give amazing service. I highly recomend this resturant.
I recently started trying sushi so I was very selective of what I tried. I got the Crunch roll for the first time and it was so good. It has just the right spice to it. I use to get the tempura roll which is just a bland version of the crunch roll. So glad I gave this one a try.
So glad I tried this place! Service was great and fast! Sushi was fresh and better than I expected. Can't wait to go back. I got the Green River roll (white sauce), pink dragon roll, and the Firecracker roll (orange sauce). All three were delish the Green River & Pink dragon were my favorites.

Great prices. Example... 3.95 for a full size spicy tuna roll. It's fresh and tastes good. Really nice couple that own the place. What more can you ask for. Highly recommend. Sure the hours are odd, but it's worth it! Great place to grab take out.

We got 9 rolls and they were amazing!!!! We of course had leftovers but truly the quality was great and the quantity was amazing! The price is extremely reasonable and definitely worth it! As someone who just found out about this place it exceeded all expectations! Thank you so much! Sam

Best sushi for the price anywhere in this local area that I have tried. It's not that it's exceptional, but it's quite good, nice selection, and a perfect price. I always go here when looking for dinner quick sushi rolls
