Aji Long Beach

We started with delectable drinks made with maracuya (passion fruit) & Sauvignon Blanc, I only had 1 but I think I could drink a pitcher! I'd adopt it as a my new mimosa (but much better), for appetizers we had ceviche of fresh sea bass perfectly made with just enough limón, aji, leche de Tigre & topped with big white corn a couple slices of sweet potato & the anticuchos were served thinly sliced with a great sauce on top. I had the Lomito Saltado served with traditional rice and fries and 3 sauces; aji verde, aji amarillo, y aji rojo (rocoto), my friend had Steak a lo Pobre grilled skirt steak, roasted potatoes, fried bananas, & rice topped with a fried egg. Everything was delicious!! For dessert we shared picarones. The picarones are kind of like a donut made with sweet potatoe flour but their lighter & fluffier and made fresh. They serve them freshly made, warm, soft in the middle, slightly crispy on the outside played on top of chancaca syrup (sweet sauce made of raw unrefined sugar from sugar cane this one had a hint of cinnamon) and picarones were dusted with powdered sugar on top. Oh my goodness!! Talk about heavenly. We mmmmmmed & awwwwwwed. So perfect! The servers were very attentive, nice, curteous, & knew the menu very well. It was a great experience and I'd definitely go there again!!
