Gaw Gai - Long Island City - Photo album

Nice little Thai restaurant in a store front. Extensive selection. Many pictures of dishes hung on the wall. Food tasted pretty good. The only downfall was the cheap plastic cutlery they gave which was too small and flexible for hot food. At least if you are eating to stay, how about using real meta
Delicious. Usually if I am in the mood for some Thai food, I would just go to Spice/TukTuk, but I was closer to Gawgai so I decided to give them a try. Did not disappoint. Very larger portion, received it REALLY quickly after I placed the order with the young lady at the register. She was a doll, an
Food.taste good. The restaurant is help your self, have to put away the tray and trash by ourselves.
good food, good prices - small place with just 4 tables. big menu - many options. if you are in the neighborhood and hungry, try it out for sure. Updating to 5 stars: I've now tried every Thai place in this hood - Spice, House of Thai and a couple of others whose names are not even worth rememberin
We came in on a Thursday evening after dropping the kids off at music and art lessons. The service was quick and the waitress helped with a recommendation (we were trying to decide between two seafood dishes). Appetizers came out quickly. We had curry puffs and duck salad. Both were really good. (Cu
Really good food. I try to order different things when I go, and I haven't been disappointed by any dishes. The panang curry is probably my favorite. They do get a rush at lunchtime, I try to go just after the rush since it's a small place. I'll order pick up sometimes as well, but they've forgot
I especially like the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. I've also enjoyed the vegetable Pad Thai. There are lots of other good dishes too. It's a very small place so get there before noon if you want to sit in for lunch during the week.
To be honest, I didn't think highly of this place when I walked by. It looks just like those cheap and totally Americanized Chinese takeout joints, bearing the name of Great Work, or Golden Dragon of sorts. Surprisingly, I was dead wrong. Gaw Gai Thai Express has some really inexpensive yet authenti
This place has great Thai food. I find that the food is very fresh, and cooked perfectly. Having been to Asia, I find this to be very authentic Thai food on the cheap. Their Thai Iced Tea is awesome, and better than any other Thai Iced Tea I've had stateside. BEWARE: If you order it spicy, expec
I'd never tried Thai food before, so perhaps I'm a bit biased since Gaw Gai was my first. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff polite, and the food delicious as well as varied. If you remember to bring cash, try the Pad Kee Mao. Just do it.
Really tasty food, and a pretty good amount for the price. The chive pancakes are way different from Chinese style ones, too. They were much thicker and fluffy than I was expecting, but still pretty awesome.
An amazing Thai place - although I think their food is more Vietnamese. Food is SO good. Big portions, not expensive and it’s in a good location across from the 7. Small, so seating is some what limited but definitely a great place to eat.
