Our server, Joshua, was great! Checked in regularly to see if we needed anything, never let our glasses get even close to empty, and even offered to provide suggestions if we wanted (haven’t been in a while so I took him up on that offer)! Very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, very friendly and personable while still professional. All of the staff were great - from the hostess to other waiters/waitresses to managers that checked on us. My steak was exactly as I ordered it - perfect medium rare. Everything tasted great! Definitely a great experience! We will be coming back!
My wife and I went recently and had an amazing meal with an even more amazing waiter! Glenn was so kind and thoughtful. We never had to ask for anything. The food was absolutely delicious and we can't wait to go again.
My husband said it was the best steak he’s ever had and he critics steaks everywhere we go. I’m a chicken girl and my grilled chicken was the best I’ve had, perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy. Plus the staff(all of the staff) was extremely attentive and nice. We will be back!!!
Great food, good drinks and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend them.
(if you want deafening music and a steak slathered in salt, go across the street to Texas Road House plus their service sucked)

I had not read any reviews until about an hour before we went yesterday, and with so many negative we almost decided not to go. However our experience was great. The restaurant was clean, food was tasty and prepared correct. The service was the best I've had in any restaurant in Longview in years. We both ordered a steak and shrimp. Hers fried shrimp and medium steak, both prepared flawlessly. Mine medium rare and grilled shrimp, again flawless. Wyatt out waiter was friendly and humorous and made sure we never waited for anything. After reading the reviews I watched almost everyone working there and they all seemed to be the caliber of service person as Wyatt. Maybe new management I don't know, but I found zero reasons to complain.
It was totally amazing... Great food and great service. Best Salt Grass I have had a pleasure of going in. Would highly recommend it to everyone!! Thank you Longview Texas Salt Grass!!!
I'm visiting from SC to celebrate my best friend's birthday. She choose Saltgrass in Longview for her birthday dinner tonight. One of the best meals ever! But even better than the food was the exceptional service from Joe Young. If you go to Saltgrass in Longview, ask for Joe! Thanks for making my friend's birthday so special, Joe!
We had a wonderful meal & great service. They cooked our steaks perfectly. It was a great Anniversary meal. Also having a Landry card makes us feel so special & welcome.
We have eaten here several times, and have never been disappointed. Excellent food and service

We celebrated our Dad's birthday and the experience was great, start to finish. The server, Joe was extremely attentive to detail and helpful in recommending food options for our parents, as it was their first time at this restaurant. All entrees were perfectly prepared. Excellent experience!

The food was excellent, our server could not have been accommodating and jovial.
My wife had her favorite T-bone steak.
I had a steak salad.
Both were well prepared.
Good table service.
We were seated quickly and at a good location with easy access for my wife's rollator walker.
Our waiter was very GOOD.
He paid attention to my wife's special food allergies and her preference for how the steak should be prepared.

JJ was our server and she did a wonderful job. We had fried mushrooms that were made from scratch. My steak and shrimp was perfect. Now the 6oz steak is small so if you are super hungry I would get the 8oz but we really enjoyed our experience.
Food quality seems to have declined a bit over the last year or so. The portions aren't nearly as large as they used to be. My steak was almost paper thin, tasted pretty good, but almost paper thin. The service is still above average, our server was very engaging, polite, and friendly. Still a very good place for an intimate meal with just a few people.

Food was good, but for the price I was disappointed in the service.
Two items were forgotten on our order. It seemed like the runner and the server were not getting along. The floors were messy and table clearing was slow.
I know there is a staffing shortage and people are just burnt out. And we are generally patient and understanding with our service staff and tip even when service is bad. But we were celebrating and a meal for two at this place costs more than $50. It was a little hard to swallow when the runner just drops one of the missed items on the table next to my plate and says "here. I got it myself."
Plates piled up on the table. My water glass was never refilled. I did love that it was served in a real glass water glass.
The ambience is also very nice, like an old barn.
Hubby still tipped over 20% but we will probably not be coming back. Our recent experiences at Cheddar's and Texas Roadhouse provided equivalent meals for less cost and better service.
I gave 4 stars because my husband was so excited he could order a porterhouse and that was the saving grace for the trip.
Susannah (my server) was amazing. The steak was cooked perfect, and my moscow mule was the best id ever had!
We were seated immediately and our drink order was quickly taken. We put our kids orders in first because we needed a few more minutes. Their food still came out at the same time as ours so that was pointless. Everything was great, the fried chicken was good but not seasoned at all. The steak was seasoned to perfection and cooked exactly how my husband requested. The only real complaint we had was our daughters sliders came out medium. We were not aware that is how they cook them, even for children.
