I tried again during a dinner service and I am happy to say it was a much better experience.
The food was good. Nice quality and helpful staff. The star of the meal was the Carne Asada plate. The meat was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. We all enjoyed our meals and will be heading back
I usually don’t eat at Mexican restaurants because my mom is a great cook and growing up with her food doesn’t compre to many places BUT THIS PLACE is the closest I can get to her cooking. Took my family there one Sunday and even my dad ate their rice. It’s as authentic as it gets. Love their serv
Our first time in and this place was great! Very authentic, flavorful, and piping hot. I could eat here every day. Try the chili rellenos! They are crispy, not soggy. Excellent beans and rice.
Food is good. Especially the tacos. They don't yet serve alcohol, so four stars. Parking can be hard to come by at times, but with the dance studio on hiatus it's much better.

Great food. I got a chile relleno and a shrimp taco combo. Very flavorful and balanced. Will definitely go back!
Kimberly always takes great care of us when we cone in. My wife and I love the fajitas trio. Chicken, steak, and shrimp. Love the portions and we never leave hungry
Chips and salsa are also good. Washed everything down with some tasty iced tea.
Me and the fiancé went here for a bite after coming out to the area. Came to Hortencias and had a delicious lobster taco and one of, if not the best california burritos I’ve ever had.
Highly recommend to try this if you’ve never been. A small little restaurant with solid prices and flavorful food!

This is a hole in the wall spot with pretty good food. I live in Palos Verdes and I have no problem driving for good food. I wouldn't drive here if I was home and wanted Mexican food, but if I was in the area, I'd eat here.
The lady ignored me for quite a while before I could order, (not busy). No signs posted about not having change, when I paid cash I received zero change, no explanation. They’re short changing everyone and hoping nobody will mention it. I would have paid with my card if I knew they keep the change.
As a former strict Pescatarian, these are THE BEST grilled fish tacos I've ever had! They are generous with the produce, plates are large and hot. Everything is fresh and salsa is made daily with a perfect blend of chunks and liquid without being runny.

Clean. Food better than our previous visits. Not everything on menu was available. Understandable, since we're still under COVID conditions. Everyone is trying/doing their best. Good service. Good food 😊👍👍🎄⛄
