Authentic decent sushi. Can’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had in the US but I suspect it can be one of the best in South Bay (also considering the price is reasonable). Vibe is what you would expect for the area. Overall I would be back for the food if I happen to be in the area.
New favorite sushi spot. Best sushi in Los Altos and within this community of South Bay. The freshest toro, uni, salmon, and hamachi Kama!! We always end up having a feast here and ordering all of the fresh nigiris and sashimi. We’ve been eating here at least once to twice a week!!
Chicken karaage tastes very awesome, highly recommend. Dragon roll looks good but tastes a little bit dry. The service is pretty nice.
Shrimp dumpings, Phill roll, white tuna sashimi and plum wine are my favorites here! The service is exceptional!
Great food, one of best Japanese restaurants in the South Bay
Tip: Authentic sushi-ya located in the sleepy town of Los Altos. Order from a broad assortment of Nigiri (check the white board special) as well as cooked dishes, such as chawanmushi or Udon. For lunch, the Chirashi ($24) is a solid choice.
I've been to many Japanese/sushi restaurants in California. Too many to count. Akane in my honest opinion is #1 in the Bay area, and I still have my favorite restaurant that I go to because of memories and such, but Akane is right there at the top with it. I recommend anyone to pay a visit and figure out what I mean for yourself. I hope your visit is as great as mine was.
