I came looking for the pop tarts and it seems this is the only place in LA that’s sells a homemade pop tart? It was fine, $6.5 is a lot for such a small pastry with not much filling. The menu is awesome though, so many options and everything looked great. We ordered a scramble and the special that came with duck bacon and supposed to be a poached egg (I think it’s their speciality) but I swapped for scrambled eggs. Loved the interior and we had excellent service.

It’s the second time to visit and first time since Covid. We are so glad everything hasn’t changed so much even after the pandemic. The staff was super nice and sweet. The menu is still very good. We had the barbecue pork with poached eggs and sausage with eggs and of course the pastry. All were super tasty! If you are in downtown, it’s worthy to come and check!

This place is amazing I love the atmosphere and customer service. We were seated quickly and the food was not a long wait either. They serve different pastries daily they would check in with us periodically to see if we needed anything else. We parked in front of the place and put quarters in the meter we didn’t know if it worked or not due to all the graffiti that was on the screen but I would say bring quarters just in case better safe then sorry. This was a lovely experience I highly recommend anyone to eat here.

The food and the service were both excellent! The owner was very personable and visited with us and gave us some history about this wonderful diner! We definitely will be returning! Something you don't want to miss if you're in LA!

Took my mom for breakfast because she was in town and leaving right afterwards. It needed to be somewhere close and not packed as a lot of places get busy on Sunday for breakfast. It’s been years since I’ve visited this place and what can I say…it’s was such a good experience!! We parked on Los Angeles since we couldn’t find street parking on main..walked just a block to get here and were seated immediately! The staff was attentive, friendly..they checked in very often but not intrusive! Right after we sat down we ordered some home made pop tarts and they were buttery, sweet, flaky crust paired with coffee very well. The music is what we would listen to and had us in a good mood…I seen the owner again what a hard working woman and so cool! For starters My niece got a pancake and apple juice! My mom and I chose from the weekend specials menu…we got the chilaquiles over black beans with two poached eggs topped with cheese and crema and the breakfast burrito with salsa verde poured over it! The chilaquiles were amazing..sauce was spicy and I can handle spice but it was flavorful not overwhelmingly spicy just right. The tortillas were fried perfectly still a bit crunchy even with the sauce on there and the black beans below! The eggs still runny, over all my favorite. The burrito was filled with an egg scramble with mushrooms and cheese, sausage and potatoes. It was good as well! Had a great meal…and time! Be back next time.

Exactly what we were looking for! Great food (offering some new to me local favorites and outstanding traditional breakfast fare). Friendly staff to keep my cup full and table cleared. Would recommend for sho’.

I wasn't won over by the chicken sausage, but my experience with such is limited. The Dog Pile was great, and their coffee is good. Great meal, tremendous ambiance.

Really wanted to try a bacon donut. Alas, the last one was sold just before the waitress came to me. Tried the pozole instead. Very good flavor, but not traditional at all. It had cheese in it. Very strange for pozole. Tasty nonetheless.
