I had one of the best steak here. Perfectly cooked. Melts in your mouth. The staff was so attentive. It is expensive but worth it.

I went the two days I was in LA. Tuesday evening, Julian at the bar was Phenomenal. I started with the fried octopus which was really good, tough texture, but accompanied well with a delicious sauce. I then had the halibut and also some Lobster. Halibut was a nice portion and pretty tasty. The lobster was amazing. The next day I stopped by for lunch and started with the frito misto, which is a must try! And then ordered the Swordfish which was amazing. Crisp on the edges and just so tasty! Recommend trying the firestone walker on draft if you are into beer! Thanks again for the rest experience. I will be back when I am back in town for sure!

We came in for our pre-theater dinner. Delicious food. Marvelous dessert. Excellent service. We're very happy with our over all dining experience. Will definitely keep it in our short list of preferred restaurants in downtown Los Angeles. Pacmu building is magnificent. Couldn't believe such architecture still exists in Los Angeles. Best compliments to our waiter, Flavio, who so eagerly attended to our every need. Will definitely come here again.

The manager was lovely and made some great recommendations. But I was very impressed with the level of great service from our waiter Carlos. He was on the ball the entire evening and made sure everything went perfectly smooth from start to finish. Genuinely good service by someone who has perfected his trade. The ambiance is also great here. The menu is delightful for seafood lovers, and we indulged in some lobster, crab, and a selection of oysters and other things. Everything was done perfectly and tasted delicious. I also had a steak (who doesn't love a little surf and turf) and they do them perfectly as well! (Oh and don't sleep on the chimichurri) overall a 10/10 experience. We would definitely return.

Wow, What an experience! If your looking at reviews to see if it is worth a try... look no further. Normally I would not call eating at a restaurant an "experience", but this was extraordinary. Chris, our server, introduced us to the most amazing oysters we have ever had. I tried them a few times in the past (other restaurants) with no delight ... but these, Wow! We also had the clams which were just as fabulous. The broth was delicious. Our main meals were the Chilean sea bass and a Lobster. Everything was fantastic! And we could not have had better service. Even if you go for a few appetizers - go for it!!!!

Every single aspect of our visit was exceptional! Champagne was icy cold and bubbly! Salads were "tossed" not doused! Fish expertly prepared. All sides were excellent. AC worked great. SERVICE WAS PERFECT. One member of our party has severe food allergies and our server took them very seriously! Not enough room for dessert but I would bet it was perfect too!

The water grill specializes in seafood, including sushi, oysters and several types of shellfish. I had the tuna poke to start and it was perhaps one of the best over had. Very large portion compared to other places. Would have been enough for a main for me. I then followed it up with the King salmon roll served with an incredible soy lime vinaigrette. This was very different and a welcomed difference. I didn’t have dessert as I was stuffed. They start you off with a sourdough bun topped with sea salt. This was again very good. I will definitely go here again.

We liked the food, presentation, quality and the taste. We ordered different fish dishes / black cod, sea bass, salmon/ carrots, sprouts, puree. Our server Flavio was very sweet. Ambiance was nice. I love that open kitchen concept. Absolutely recommended restaurant.

Water Grill is Classy and Romantic. Dim lighting, comfortable seating and smells that will entice your taste buds. I allowed my waiter to choose the two best dinner entrées the restaurant had to offer. Jared (my waiter) did not disappoint! Absolutely amazing food and totally worth the price. I can’t wait to go back.

The Water Grill is a great place for me, it is right across the street from the hotel I have been staying at while traveling. Heading to LA for work, you get in, your tired and you want a good solid meal, you can get that at the water grill. The atmosphere is upscale causal, the cocktails have the right balance - however I wish the beer menu was more expansive - Coors light? - with so many breweries around offer craft local selections. I find the selections to be a great mix of seafood and turf based varietals. Having sampled both I can affirm that the culinary team has their A game on - my new favorite is the scampi with papardelle - explosive flavor, perfect amount of garlic and a generous portion. Server staff, is friendly, attentive without being intrusive - Kelly made our dinner even better with Her professionalism and care to ensure the diner had want they wanted and needed. One note however, being their with a friend out of Boston, the chowder needs work - hey he's from Beantown, tough crowd. Stop in, try it out I haven't been disappointed yet. Price is commensurate for the area in town, but you get what you pay for - here it is worth every penny.

Wonderful place to have a timeless, classy, seafood centric, meal. I love the service, seafood, and drinks here. Valet is the easiest way to park, as the restaurant is located at the retail space of an office building ( water grill does provide some validation) . Thanks for the wonderful seafood and service.

Emerson made our experience so amazing. The food was so good. I had the Sea Bass and it was flaky and so tasteful. The restaurant design was so nice. It felt like I was transported back in time. Thank you so much Emerson for making our lunch meeting so eventful. Highly recommend coming here

The food was amazing and as expected we went mid day and it was very slow. Got good service. The atmosphere wasn’t all there for me. I don’t like the fact that I had to pay for parking to go to this restaurant there should be some kind of ticket for them for their customers. I’ve last tried the water grill in Irvine, which exceeded my expectations compared to this one.

Amazing experience! We went for my partners birthday and she had the best birthday ever!!! The calamari was so delicious and the sushi was really good too but the star of the dinner was the king crab my gf ordered. It was HUGE and she finished ALL of it lol. Our servers name was Emerson and he was super friendly and just made our already amazing experience even better. 10/10 highly recommend

We walked-in after 9pm, so lucky they still seated us. One of the oyster kind wasn’t fresh and sands inside, which our server replaced it with his recommendation. Otherwise everything we ordered was tasty. Good variety of menu and 5 stars to the servers. We will visit again!

If you love seafood, please visit this place. Amazing food, great ambience and nice people. It is also in the heart of downtown LA. The service is a bit slow however, it is totally worth it. Definitely recommend the octopus, the oyster sampler( has a mix of East and west coast ) and the caramel bread pudding

Don't you hate it when you pass a place a zillion times and never gave it one thought for one reason or another and when you finally go, you wish you had gone sooner? Ugh! I wish I had gone to the Water Grill sooner but glad I did go this particular time. I went with some coworkers and a partner of our organization for an after work early dinner. In total, there was 9 of us and they were able to accommodate us. I was one of the last ones to arrive but I had made it there before the bread and cocktails were served and ordered, which is right on time in my book. Let's go through what we had, shall we? The sourdough rolls... freshly baked, served with softened butter - the only way to eaten them. I ordered a Mezcalero for my cocktail and was pleasantly surprised with the smoothness of my drink. Definitely recommend if you don't like sweet drinks. Then we started often with calamari and baked oysters. The calamari was cooked to perfection. I've never been an oysters girl, but the presentation looked nice. Then I was elated when they brought out my shriml scampi, which came with jumbo shrimps. I also ordered a side of their yukon gold mashed potatoes. Not the best mash potatoes I've ever eaten, but still extremely delicious. Very buttery and creamy without being milky or watery in texture. Others at my table had the sword fish, halibut, sea bass, shrimp salad, crab and someone dared to ordered filet mignon. O-kay. Overall, there were no complaints, everyone their food. I really enjoyed my pasta, found it filling and tasty. I loved the hint of heat with it. Maybe they used pepper flakes, but something similar. Regardless, it was delicious.

It's trendy, pricey, and more than a little pretentious. It is also very, very good. Everything I've had there is top-notch. Fresh seafood masterfully prepared. The seafood tower is probably my favorite, but again, I thoroughly enjoyed everything. The design and decor are absolutely beautiful, lively, fun, and inviting.
