I used to go to Clifton's in the 70's when the RTD were only .25 to ride.... so great that it has been re-opened and the food(I had fresh off the bone white and dark turkey breast , super fresh like my mom's classic mashed potatoes, broc, cauliflower and carrots a wheat roll ., my friend enjoyed meatloaf, mac and cheeses and dressing) all of the food was delicious. Big portions so I got leftovers yay! Only thing that missed were the huge cream puffs and chocolate eclair so but the waiter says they are still tweaking the menu so keeping fingers crossed! There are so many hidden gems in Los Angeles , don't forget to stop by!

Clifton's was GREAT! Loved how much of the original cafeteria is still there like the giant red woods, stream, animals and little stone chapel (missed the cross above it though). The food was delicious and the live music was spectacular (including someone playing the washboard)! Well worth the drive into Downtown LA!

Excellent, efficient staff and great food! I was there with my family celebrating my father's birthday. He is in a wheelchair and Ms. Brianne (I believe that was her name) was very thoughtful in seating us in a place where we wouldn't have to struggle with moving Dad around. Our server was also very helpful and caring. The gentleman outside taking care of the valet parking was also very efficient. My father used to be an RTD bus driver many years ago and we used to come here quite often. It had been some years since our last visit. Thank you for making this celebration a memorable one.

I loved it! It has been 20 plus years since I have been to Clifton's. I used to frequent it twice a week for years. I must say that Clifton's has earned its place as a iconic downtown Los Angeles eateries, such as The Pantry and Philippe's. The ambience is great, the music was excellent and the food was extremely tasteful. I recommend Clifton's!

Unbelievable! Loved the food, the amazing ambience and the delightful staff. The meatloaf was delicious; next time I'll try the famous chicken pot pie. The swing music playing on the PA completed the experience for me. Am happily telling my friends about Clifton's!

I love Cliftons. The food is good, and the atmosphere/ themed rooms& bars are the best. It is also cozy with the fireplaces. That put on cool events. My friend surprised me yesterday and the staff was so friendly and nice with everything. Some knew and others did not, but service was great. I usually go earlier for dinners, thats my experience the most. I have been there for a busier night downtown.

It was a unique experience I really like it I am not crazy about the food... I I would say it is a little pricey for the quality of food. but I like the place and the environment. It was a good experience.

We had a great tour of Cliftons. We’d never been, our daughter had for drinks and special parties. We were intrigued by its uniqueness. Unique was an understatement. I highly recommend the tour! The cafeteria is currently under renovation so our only disappointment was that we were not able to follow the tour with a meal.

Multi-level bar with eclectic decor (particularly of the taxidermy variety). Came here with some friends on a Friday evening at 9:30 and there was no cover. There’s a bar on each level and they serve different drinks at each one. The cinnamon drink made on the third level was the most fun to watch. Restrooms were available on the second level. There’s a fair amount of seating and you can reserve tables. The Tikki room that night was unfortunately closed. The music was bumping and we really liked the big tree in the middle, which held a fireplace at the base with a couple of chairs.

Went last week and the cocktails are strong and the music was great. Love hanging out here and exploring all the little corners. I did feel disappointed that the tiki speakeasy and the other floors still haven't reopened. Hopefully they will return in full swing soon!

I want to live at Clifton’s Republic! I booked a tour of Clifton’s through the LA Conservancy. It is so cool. The tiki bar is insane. Looking forward to the renovations being complete.

Visited this place on a Saturday at around 7pm. My friend and I beat the crowd since they open at 6pm. The place is amazing! It has 2 maybe 3 floors? It was hard for me to tell. Each room has a different vibe and a different list of drinks. You can order a drink and roam the place which I love. There's a hidden little bar somewhere in the place. I suggest you check it out. The only complaint I have is about the bartenders. They take their sweet time to ask you for your order and when they do, they don't seem happy about it. One of the girl bartenders was completly ignoring the girls but was helping every guy walking up to the bar. A random person behind me even realized it and asked me, "weren't you next?" I said yes! And we both shook our heads. Gotta say the drinks were pretty tasty.

It was my first time visiting this venue and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the vive, drinks, and food Clifton’s offered. All the employees were super nice and I thought there was so much to offer. This place is great for most any occasion. The cocktails were great and I throughly enjoyed the pizza. I’d highly suggest checking this place out.

Probably the best bar in downtown LA. Dress code is relaxed to business casual and the vibe is great. There’s a massive tree in the middle and it’s also a restaurant/cafeteria. Next time I’ll try the food. It’s three floors with different types of rooms/styles. The lines outside can get long but it flows in pretty quick. New changes since I last stopped by in 2019. The new changes are great, I’d definitely come back again.

Great bar in downtown with lots of different levels and areas to explore. VERY eccentric and unlike any other place in Los Angeles. Note that the Tiki bar is on the top floor which is where the majority of the crowd was. Drinks are on the pricey side but good quality and tasty. Bar opens at 7pm - recommend getting there early before the crowds come so you can explore at your own pace without feeling rushed.

One of my favourite bars I've ever been to. The difference rooms are so cool. I like that you're able to dance but also there's tons of seating to the side of you just want to converse with your friends

Lots of different exciting spaces. Very interesting place just to walk through. Dance floor is hit or miss based on the DJ, but everything else if fun.

This is the most magical restaurant in all of Los Angeles. Flawless, historical perfection, in a monstrous, perfectly restored building, full of history, wonder, and delicious food. If you ever want to impress your friends or visitors from out-of-town, look no further. Ambiance abounds, with fantastic music playing at just the right volumes. The prices for food are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is in the Top-3 I’ve ever been in, despite travelling all over the world. If you’re looking for comfort food, look no further. The meat loaf, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, gravy, biscuits, desserts, and drinks are perfection. You’ll find a huge assortment of healthy options as well. Kids absolutely love this place, and the service is 5-star, every time. If you’re looking for cocktails, Clifton’s has several bars, tucked away inside, where adults can hang and enjoy time away from younger patrons. I can not say enough good things about this place.

A weekend is the right time. You are going to be mesmerized by the ambience. 3 floors each with its own decor from a stuffed animals to French architecture to Hawaii ambience. You will get something to satisfy your taste. Music is amazing and they will surprise you with some special show ( this time it was a Salsa number ) You will enjoy the fullest when you are Cliftons and that is a guarantee. Off course be prepared for a very very long wait if you arrive late.

This is not a cafeteria anymore. It now has drinking bars on every floor. The ambiance is still as I remember it. Dim, multi-themed. With so many of the same curiosities on display. I enjoyed my visit as I had not been there since the 80's.

OMG! This place is fantastic. So much fun. Eclectic collection of antiques and taxidermy animals. Defies description. Limited menu. Had the Soylent Green pizza. Hopefully not too realistic to the name, lol. It was delicious. DJ fired up at 10:00, great music. So glad we came out, will definitely be back.
