Cannot say enough about this place! The restaurant has been family owned and operated for decades. You can taste the love and passion in the food. As someone who has celiac disease and having to eat gluten free, they cook their gluten free pasta to perfection. They also have vegan options along with gluten free. The plating, the finesse, and everything they put into that restaurant is extraordinary. An LA must for visitors. I will be coming back without a doubt

The service was only secondary to the food. I have never been unhappy with any of my food selection. You can taste the generations of recipe with every bite. This restaurant is a must!

I booked Marino Ristorante from Florida, site unseen, for a work related dinner we were hosting while at a symposium in CA. I was simply going off of the reviews online and the location from our hotel. Sal and Mario were very nice to work with while making up the menus. They were lenient with me since i would not know a final count until the last minute. They let me customize an abbreviated menu and even added our company logo. The dinner couldn''t have gone any better. The private room was lovely, the food was delicious, and the owners and staff were so sweet. I would recommend this restaurant to L.A. visitors for sure! Thank you, thank you!!! Gina

The food was amazing; the halibut was creamy & flaky, the butterflied veal chop was like butter, the carrot fennel soup was perfect, the avocado stuffed with crab I could have ordered as often as the Campari spritzers! The staff is very knowledgeable, accomodating, friendly and efficient. A wonderful experience.

Amazing food accompanied by an elegant atmosphere. Sal and Mario Marino treat their patrons as if they were part of their family. Hands down, one of the greatest restaurants in California. #StellarWineList

We love Italian food so we went to a traditional restaurant in LA. The food was great, if you want something like pizza or spaghetti and meatballs it's not on the menu but they have it upon request. Food and service was phenomenal, but what we were most impressed with was the owner who greeted us as if we were close family, carrying our bags, shaking hands and having a real conversations! He was absolutely delightful and the customer service was beyond 5 stars. They even stored our pizza in the kitchen to keep it warm for when we wanted seconds instead of leaving it on the table! Will return for sure

Intimate atmosphere, exceptional service, and very reasonable pricing for the quality. The chef's passion for the food, from the sourcing of fresh ingredients, to the simple preparation and the excellent presentation, made the taste of the meal the hero of the evening, precisely as it should be. All of this wrapped in a genuine and sincere hospitality. I've traveled the world, and this is precisely the kind of restaurant I've always loved to discover wherever I was. Simply one of my very favorite spots in LA. Thanks Sal and Mario!!!

Marino Ristorante is an Italian Bon Appetit experience for your taste buds, a 4 star dining experience in Hollywood. Do not be surprised to be sitting next a Hollywood celebrity. You will return again and again! It is as if you where in Italy.

I love Sal. He’s the owner/chef and he loves to create new and exotic dishes at his restaurant. His brother Mario is an amazing host and know all of his customers on a first name basis. I love the raw snapper. But If raw fish is not your thing then there are many other options where you can’t go wrong

Absolutely love coming back to this restaurant. Service and food are just fantastic. It can get hectic towards the weekend. It is nevertheless worth it any day.

Not just for special occaisions. Marino is one of those restaurants in LA that does everything right the first time. You also need to know that after one visit, you are essentially family to host/owner/bon vivant Mario. Not only does he have the skill to run a true gem of an eatery, he knows EVERYONE, even you, just give him a few minutes at your table, you won't be sorry. He truly is someone there not just to help you choose the perfect wine (the wine list, my god!), he wants you to relax, take your time and truly enjoy. There is no rush, there is no pressure, you are there to escape and unwind and feast. The Food: He has the skill to organize a masterful menu that makes use of exceptional seasonal produce, fresh cheeses (some homemade), to create with his chef mind-blowing menu specials, to suggest something to you that may not be on the menu but he can have whipped up. The pasta is exceptional, the sauce truly homemade and clearly an old recipe, the fish cooked perfectly... everything is done right, the first time. And doesn't that count more than anything? Go here, on a weekday if possible, when you can be the object of Mario's obsessiveness about making everything just right. The weekends are fine too, but be prepared to get there early unless you want to wait a bit. Apparently there are others that are catching on to Marino as well. You won't be sorry.

Could be fancier, couldn't be better. When Mr. Marino's in the kitchen, the food is spectacular. When he's not, it's merely great.

Comfortable, quiet, tucked away in a little storefront on Melrose, Marino serves wonderful Italian pastas, meats, and fish with grace, style, and enough romance to make it the perfect business lunch, perfect after-work dinner, perfect makle-an-impression date dinner spot.

An excellent wine list complements a broad menu.

The most amazing experience, service, and food I’ve ever had in Los Angeles. Sal and Mario Marino are absolute PLEASURE. My friend and I ordered 4 different dishes and all of them were truly extraordinary. We’ve both been to Italy and this is what it is to have true Italian pasta in America. We ate the pumpkin & sage tortellini, zucchini blossoms, cassonetti pasta, and the truffle gnocchi. All 4 were amazing… so decadent and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients. Sal, the chef came out to speak to us and Mario got us a reservation so quickly. We’re coming back. It was truly a great experience.

I showed up without a reservation for a quick bite. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I've had a mushroom cauliflower salad. It was very light and fresh, and served quickly. Two gin&tonics went well with it. On a side note, I loved their glassware!

Went there for dinner. We did use open table to reserve it. Everything we had was top notch. All of the servers we so pleasant. We didn't have room for dessert but couldn't pass up on the experience so we got the cream puffs. Yum.

Right. Strange one. The owner (or manager) is an amazing person. Their food is nice. Decent cocktails. But some of the staff is.... Rude or passive aggressive. We understand it was an Italian restaurant but why giving us a lesson on every since thing we asked for that wasn't "The Italian way"? Even more, the waiter in fact was Romanian. Then, they slapped 20% tip without asking us or giving us an option like any other place in the US, probably thinking we are some kind of tourists? Very mixed feelings. Lasagna, tiramisu, tagliatelle steak, fried mozzarella are great. Kudos to the chef.

Marino is genuinely a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is elegant and inviting. One of the restaurant’s owners, Mario, will always welcome you with a warm hello. Sit at the bar, and you'll have excellent service from the bartender Raul who makes exquisite cocktails. You'll always feel well taken care of by each service staff. The food is absolutely delicious. A must try the cauliflower mushroom and the cheesecake—an incredible Italian restaurant in La.

Fantastic food last night at @marino.losangeles. The grilled calamari salad was one of the best I've had. The squid was seasoned extremely well and was presented ornately. I decided to split the black truffle gnocchi with my date for an appetizer instead of as an entrée so we could both try it and still sample other menu items for our main courses. The gnocchi was easily my favorite course of the night. When it comes to the table, the server grated a generous portion of the black truffle table side filling the air with the glorious aroma of truffle. The gnocchi itself had the most incredible texture and magnificent creamy sauce. What can say, it was phenomenal. For my main course I had the NY strip and was pleased with the crispy, flavorful sear on the steak. I can't say as much for the branzino. It was average at best and outshined by every other dish. Finally, the ricotta cheesecake had a delectable flavor, with a hint of citrus. The texture was was absolutely mouthwatering. Great job last night Marino.

The service is five starts. People take care of you like if you were princes. The food is delicious and served and a good pace. Received 8 services in 2 hours. The cost is high but you get what you pay for. Totally worth it and would recommend. The chef came to see our group at the end. Lovely place.
