Hey everyone, so the parking is extremely limited. The restaurant is cozy and gives you like an old diner vibe. I did not use the restroom, I did pick up. I ordered the 8 piece special, with greens and Mac and cheese and fries , and it was very delicious. It was seasoned very well and still hot when I brought it home. I will definitely order again.

Gus is consistent! The highlight is the chicken and it is always crispy, has a nice spicy kick and juicy. The best side to choose, in my opinion, the greens! Them greens are bomb! Succulent, flavorful...just always on point. Service is fast and friendly. Keep in mind that because of the location, parking is kind of hard. The back spaces state that they're for take-out only. Other than that, I recommend it!

My first time going and they did not disappoint. From the warm welcome to the service and food it was ALL wonderfully amazing. Eddy was helping us out and his service is the kind that makes you want to come back. But down to the nitty gritty THE CHICKEN 🍗 A++++++ I'm not big on fried chicken but I will be coming back. It's crispy without being greasy and NOT DRY at all!!!! Don't go in with an expectation but with an open mind to new flavors. I hope my review helps out. R.I.P KFC, Louisiana Chicken, Roscoe's and whatever other chicken spot lol. I've made my choice. See ya soon Eddy 🤗 also it's got a kick but nothing y'all can't handle. Happy eating 😉

I came here mid afternoon on A Saturday. We ordered fried pickles for starters. They were crunchy and the batter was perfect. We also ordered the 8 piece and chicken tenders. Chicken was perfect, fluffy and juicy. Mac & cheese was fiiiire🔥. We couldnt pass on dessert. We had the chocolate pie w ice cream. It was delish and we will definitely come back.

I read online that this was one of the best fried chicken places in la, and that is absolutely a correct assessment. gus’s was a religious experience and i got borderline emotional at times. fantastic chicken, i can’t overstate that. great sides (beans and coleslaw especially). then, after all that, the chess pie was almost the best part (only half true, i can’t pick a best part). i really couldn’t be happier with the experience, and i will be returning. also, the server angel was a really nice guy and he made an already exceptional experience even better. salute to gus’s.

Delicious. The chicken is really fresh and not greasy or too oily. I loved the fried pickles too and the sweet potato pie! Great comfort food.

Yeah. This restaurant deserves to be the world famous. Fried chicken was very crispy and its taste was also good because they served it right after frying. Service was also good so I have willing to visit here again if I go to LA again. Price is also reasonable, and parking lot is also in here. These are also good point for this restaurant.

My sister's friend recommended this place. Their chicken is great. Not only was it crispy, it was very moist and had a spicy kick to it. Unlike like other fried chicken this chicken was NOT greasy at all. The Mac and cheese was also great too. The young lady who helped us at the register was so welcoming. Being that we mentioned it was our first time there, she gave us great tips on what to do order. Oh ! There's also parking in the back. Don't get discouraged to stop by because it does seem like there's no parking but i can assure you that there is. You'll enter off of Crenshaw on the right hand side. I'll be back for more when craving fried chicken 🍗

This is maybe the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. The chicken is incredibly well seasoned, not too spicy, but super flavorful. The sides were excellent. I was going to take a picture of the food but it was gone before I remembered… will be back!

Took my mom here for her first time and she absolutely loved the food! She has a low spice tolerance so we were concerned, but with a little honey, the chicken was perfect. The portions were huge! We also ordered too much, but that’s fine by us. I’m not a fan of fried green tomatoes and fried okra but she is and we both loved it. Music was great, the location was clean, staff was very attentive, and overall just had a great experience. We both walked out full and happy.

Reminds me of back home in the south. Hands down some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Not greasy, insanely packed with flavor and the sides are to die for. Fried pickles are the move if you’re a real southern comfort foodie. 10/10 for flavor, value and consistency

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! the chicken is ridiculous 🤪!!! not overly breaded. fried perfectly. I had the 2 piece white meat plate. super juicy with nice crunchy corners like skillet fried chicken. the baked beans are great. the cole slaw is amazing(not too much horseradish). the potato salad reminds me of home; perfect mix of mayo and mustard. the fried okra is not house made, I'm sure, but wonderful nonetheless. fried green tomatoes are a lil soggy, but flavorful so I will order again. the mac and cheese is not good. lastly, I don't know what chess pie is, but get it!!

I'm addicted to fried chicken and Gus’s was one of the best I had. The service was friendly, we even got a couple of tenders to taste. The green fried tomatoes were an excellent side dish and the mac n' cheese didn't dissapoint as well.

Gus's is a strong concept. Traditional, thoughtful and very focused on their core offering: fried chicken. Don't go to Gus's for the sides. Go for the chicken, the ambience and, in my experience, the service. The fried pickles are good though, and worth the money as an appetizer. There are drawbacks, however. Unless you get very lucky, it will be a nightmare to find convenient parking. Which, like the fare, is an LA staple. Another more universal drawback is that Gus's is so similar to so many other Southern-oriented fried chicken destinations in Los Angeles. And though each might nudge ahead of the pack in some respect, they really are all pretty much the same. There's not THAT much that separates Gus's from Willie Mae's, or Roscoe's, or Mom's Haus, though many will claim otherwise. There's not much that separates them on price, either. They're all overpriced, but Gus's is slightly gentler on the wallet. Slightly. And in this economy, it does boils down to price. If you've got the extra cash and the time to spend heading to Gus's, you could do a lot worse. It's good chicken.
