We did not dine in but ordered some pastries and food to go. The Portuguese egg tart is quite good but a bit heavy on the cinnamon for me personally. My wife and friend loved it though. The beef empanada is pretty good and our friend ordered the breakfast sandwich which also looked good. Unfortunately it’s only open Friday-Sunday but one that I would come back to try more of the menu.

What a beautiful place with a good selection of lovely pastries! The pastel de nata is a must try! They serve a good lunch and dinner menu. The servers were very cordial and attentive. They have a small parking lot, but there are lots of paid street parking as well as regular street parking (watch the signs!).

My 1st time ever eating Portuguese food. The pastries were really good. The octopus salad had a nice flavor. The octopus was tender. I didn’t know bell peppers were the main vegetable. I would not have ordered it. I got a vegetable soup and added chorizo. The soup was good but I would not order again. I will definitely return and try additional menu items.

The good was delicious 🤤😋 We were three, so we shared three dishes including 'bacalhau a lagareiro' 'fisherman bowl soup' and 'caldo Verde' with spicy chorizo (à la Portuguese of course)! Everything was delicious and the waiters we're super friendly and nice, making us comfortable and taking the time to explain the menu. We did have to wait considerably long to get the first dish but they got us some garlicy bread to keep us entertained (:

Best Portuguese egg tarts in the area! Soft, eggy, sweet, and slightly caramelized. Significantly better than the ones found in Sawtelle. They've also got a large assortment of other Portuguese pastries and goodies. Definitely worth a trip. The service was kind and inviting. The ambiance was relaxed and quite European.

I came here many times and I drive from SD to have a “ taste of home” I’m born in Lisbon Portugal… so this Portuguese restaurant it’s amazing food and bakery from “ home”. Matar saudades da comida Portuguese Unfortunately this past Saturday June 3 about 10:30 am, the servers were different people. They happen to be Spanish people they didn’t have any acknowledgement of Portuguese food or Portuguese bakery or any traditional breakfast. I asked the lady if has “ bifamas no pao” I explained her it was a “ port beef in the bread” she look at me like I was weird.. so I told her never mind, I ordered something else. She even didn’t try to ask to other employee what it was. Then later after drinking my expressions “ bica” I asked if I could have a “ meia de leite” she look at me, like she didn’t know what it was, so I explained it’s 2 expresso with milk. Again she was look at me like I was weird. So she called other server a man, with gray hair in Hes 30s or 40s, he was speaking Spanish with other server, he tells me oh what do you want it’s a cortadito, I told him, no sr cortadito it’s a totally different thing then meia de leite, he was speaking in Spanish and I explained what it was meia de leite, he look at me with a mad face, make me feel I was not welcome, then he brings me a cortadito, expresso with splash of milk… and he was mad at me, keep ignoring me every time I asked something more to eat. He wasn’t not nice, he was mad, arrogant He DIDNT know nothing of Portuguese traditions foods. And was offended because I asked for a Portuguese breakfast he didn’t know about, and got mad because I ask something he didn’t know, make me feel not welcome the entire time. It was unpleasant be served by someone that didn’t not know about Portuguese traditions food and gets offended when customers asked for something he didn’t know. Hopefully the owner be careful and choose better the servers. I never had issues before because was always a lady that knew Portuguese food and speak Portuguese, she was very friendly and funny. Unfortunately this time I drove SD to LA to enjoy my country wonderful food and bakery. And I got not well received by this two servers. I’ll keep coming enjoy the delicious food from my country. Hopefully I get better servers more smiling, more acknowledgement about traditional Portuguese food, more welcoming. Congratulations to the owner for having this Portuguese restaurant/bakery 🥰🥰🥰😀

Cool place. Parking is a bit tight. The food is amazing. The pastel de nata were tasty. We tried the coconut, Nutella and regular natas and they were pretty good. We also had the Vege breakfast burrito. It was pretty big and filling. They charge a 3% fee if you use a card. Good service, good food, so so parking!

We wanted to try some Portuguese Pastel de Nata and googled a place near our home. We ended up sitting down to also have some breakfast and really enjoyed the coffee and omelettes. The service was fast and super friendly. We loved the inside and outside of the restaurant, a very inviting and nice place to sit for a bit. We got an assortment of pastries to try. We've never tried Portuguese pastries before, so this might just not be our thing, but they weren't our favorite. While these were good to try, there was something about them that felt like not a lot of time and quality ingredients were used in them. Not sure if this is the normal taste and look of Portuguese pastries but would not return just for this. Coffee and breakfast was great though and worth checking out for a nice morning out.

Got a taste of home while working near LA! Cod fish dish was not overly oily like others! So good! Very authentic Portuguese café! And the pastries 😍😍 took far to many home with me to try as well! Pastel De Nata had many varieties! And the Berlin Ball was just perfect! Service was very kind!

Local eats with wonderful pastries for neighborhood clientele. Transports us to a simpler time. People actually talk to people sitting at the next tables and socialize😱. We love it! Our fave spot to just relax and reconnect. Everyone should go at least once to check it out and relax over coffee and a pastry.👍

I can see why there are so many excellent reviews. First time here, and the pastries were some of the best I've ever tasted. Customer service was outstanding. Next time I'm in Sherman Oaks, I'll stay and try their breakfast.

I grew up in Portugal and found this place while visiting my son. It’s delicious and the staff is amazing! The food is authentic (including the traditional pasteis de nata) and the servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Cannot wait to return! Highly recommend.

The family and I went for breakfast last weekend. We arrived @ 8:30 and it wasn’t busy at all. I was surprised to see it was bigger inside than what it appeared from the outside. It was really nice and homey inside with beautiful tiles. We shared the crunchy French toast with berries and the stuffed French toast with strawberries/cream cheese. Both were delicious but we all preferred the one with the crunchy outside. We also stopped by the bakery to take home some natas. Wonderfully delicious!! Will come back again!

Amazing pastries. Lunch was delicious too. I had the soup with hearty veggies, beans, and chorizo. My friend had a panini and salad. It was great and I will be back again. Great service and atmosphere.

The only authentic Portuguese bakery I know of in LA. Excellent pasteis de nata. They are made fresh and very crunchy and delicious filling. They have different styles of them including cinnamon and Nutella and coconut but I prefer the original and basing my 5 stars on that. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. They also have other unique Portuguese brunch items that I will be trying when things open up more.

Came here about an hour before closing. Tried the natas (of course!) and the Bola de Berlin (house donut with custard). Both were so good. Pastel de nata - The puff pastry base was so pleasantly flaky, tender, delicate, not overbaked. The custard filling was also delicate, not too sweet and complemented the puff pastry so well. Bola de Berlin - The bola (donut) was so pillowy and almost melt in your mouth. The sugar coat gave a nice crunch and texture; it was a nice contrast to the soft donut and creamy custard filling. The custard filling is a little bit on the sweeter side (compared to the natas) but it was so good that even for me who prefers less sweet things, I thoroughly enjoyed it. What was more impressive was that they tasted so good even though I came at the end of the day. They are not cheap... but I will definitely be coming back to try more of their bakery items because of the great impression I had with what I've tried at my first visit. In my opinion, far superior to the natas at Paderia Bakehouse. Please come here if you want a great Portuguese egg tart.
