I’m thrilled to have found this cafe! It’s been a haven for me during a less than ideal stay in Hollywood. The lattes are perfect, the thick bacon SO delicious, the homemade breads are amazing. I’ve tried sandwiches, quiche, and other breakfasts. Everything has been utterly satisfying!
Friends and Family has truly brightened my extended visit.
Best BLT I’ve had in LA so far :) not dry at all & very flavorful but still maintains bold BLT flavor components! And salad is yummy, fresh & light. Also enjoyed the mimosa!
Really good croissants and coffee. It's definitely pricey, and unfortunately, I was charged for a sandwich but it was not bagged with my order. An oversight on my end, but also a lack of attention theirs. Would like to go back again but it's definitely a treat for every now and then and not for my everyday life.
Out of all the LA bakeries that have wholesale accounts, Friends & Family is easily my favorite. Their croissants are so crunchy and hold a terrific form that immediately catch my eyes from those pastry boxes.
Friends & Family has a wide selection of pastries. Besides the normal croissant variations, there are also pistachio almond croissant, sweet and savory danishes, cakes, muffins and cookies. You can also get fresh baguettes and bread loaves.
The cafe has plenty of seats, and a full day time menu. I went there for lunch with a friend and had the beef short rib hash (two eggs, braised beef, yukon potato & pickled chili salsa verde) and wow it was palatable and got amazing value for basically the price of a toast in those fancy, over hyped coffee shops.
That's what I really like about Friends & Family: it's pretty much a hidden gem, a down-to-earth neighborhood bakery cafe, although I think it's worth being recognized by a lot more people.
Everything in this pastry case looked so good. I went with the pistachio almond croissant and it was heaven. The decor is pretty cute and there are a bunch of wines and breads available for people to bring home.
Brunch menu looks really good!
I loved the breakfast burrito. Amazing flavor
I went here because I wanted to get the heart tart but they were already out so I ended up getting the breakfast jam bar which was actually really good and highly recommend it. The croissant was a bit dry and was flaky while lacking buttery flavor. Also the chocolate chip wasn’t as good as I expected. It is thin and crispy which isn’t really my style. I liked the oatmeal date cookie though and the graham pig I just got because it looked funny. This is still a good option in the Hollywood area for a bakery/cafe that you should give a try.
I always take food to go. They have the best bread, croissants, sandwiches and baked goodies. Everything is super fresh. They just bake daily and some of my favorite things are gone by midday. So if you want to get the good stuff arrive early
Ok!!! This place is the bomb and makes the neighborhood cooler , better !
Pastries are phenomenal outside and inside !
Fantastic. I wish there were more places like this that really take pride in everything they do. The quality is top notch and I know they are sourcing high quality flours and grains. I got the Buckwheat pancake that takes 20 minutes and couldn’t be happier. It was a pleasure sitting to wait for it. It’s hard to find a good buckwheat pancake. They did a great job with it. I’ll be coming back, but with a friend to share it with next time! It’s huge. Eating here was a real treat.
