We didn't have time to lunch, it was too early for dinner, and we were hungry. What to do? We decided to sit down at the terrace of the Wine Cellar, a place that opens at 4 PM. Instead of having a full dinner, we decided to take multiple starters, and accompany each starter with a different wine. The waiter was very helpful making a selection. We had the Crab and Lobster Salad (very fresh, a nice opener), the Abalone (special and very tasty), the Ahi Tuna Tartare (with a Japanese touch), and the stuffed bell pepper (Mexican style). The waiter served two different wines two times, and he let us guess which one of both was considered the best of the two. All wines were great, but both times we managed to guess which was was the best one (the more expensive one). We had a fun time. We'll certainly return when we're back in Los Gatos.

This place has been rock solid over the years, the food is great, as is the service, and both inside and outside dining is a joy. The very few times I have experienced a mishap (which happens in any restaurant or business), it has always been corrected with a smile. Love this place, also best place to order Duck, as they they serve a generous , delightful portion. The salads are also out of this world, and their wine list has a nice range for all.

Was probably the best meal I've had there to date. I have been going to Wine Cellar for years and this was the best! Over that place. The waiters are always wonderful!!

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the Wine Cellar. Every course we ordered was amazing! Our server was excellent and was witty which we enjoyed. I highly recommend the BBQ Bacon Wrapped Prawns and the Fondue. I’m so glad we chose this place on my special day. We will definitely be back for our next celebration.

Food was excellent. My wife had the Abalone Dinner. Outstanding. I had the New York Steak with the roasted potatoes then the waiter brought out some smashed potatoes. We would go back again.

I love this place. The food and sevice is great. It's my favorite restaurant. Every special occasion that I have in my life, that is the place I enjoy the most. I highly recommend this resturant.

I like this Restaurant very much, the waiters are very polite and the Environment is very beautiful, they have a lot of choices and we enjoy very much, I will give this restaurant five stars!!

Great food and service. The atmosphere was relaxing. The flavor of the food was great. We had the French onion soup. It came to out table hot. The bread was fresh. Our double shrimp prawn avocado salad tasted as good. The presentation of our was beautiful.

Food and service are always great here.. Seafood or steaks or both! They make a good fondue too. My only mistake is I never leave room for desert!!

Loved the outdoor patio. Our server was great and the drinks were delicious! Definitely a lot better than we'd anticipated. Try the gin and cucumber drink. Yummm! Halibut and seared tuna were great too.

The Wine Cellar is a Los Gatos institution. This family owned and operated restaurant first opened in the 1960’s and has been in the same hands for 30+ years. Many of the staff have worked here for years and service has always been top notch. My wife and I have dined here often, mostly for lunch. The downstairs dining room is quiet and cozy with old world style decor and subdued lighting, but we prefer to sit on the large patio which we think is the best outdoor dining spot in town. Our last experience was at lunch on New Years eve day. I ordered the bistro steak medallions which I think are tastier and more tender than other beef items on the menu. The three pieces of meat were cooked perfectly (medium rare) but I’ll have to ask them to cut back on the sautéed mushrooms and onions next time so that the sauce doesn’t overwhelm the food. My wife enjoyed her double shrimp and avocado salad. She doesn’t really like tiny bay shrimp so our server just substituted a few more prawns without charging extra. The seared Ahi salad used to be her favorite, but the quality of the fish hasn’t been the same for a while. We make it a point to order their delectable mixed berry puff pastry for desert. The pastry is always fresh and flaky and the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream complement the berry compote nicely. If you’re in the mood for classic American fare with a California twist, I definitely recommend the Wine Cellar.

The food was cooked exactly right! It was absolutely delicious! Look at the mushrooms! And the chocolate fondue for dessert! Fabulous! The drinks were top notch & the atmosphere was friendly & fun. A great night at a new favorite restaurant!0

Had lunch on a Friday afternoon. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, which was super crispy and came with a tasty horseradish sauce. All the entrees were cooked well, and our server gave good wine recommendations. I would visit again.

Another great experience, provided by an established local restaurant that has kept its quality of food and service. Our waiter Moises, was bar none the best server we’ve ever had. The kind that stays in your mind. His demeanor, interaction and attentiveness was flawless. This is the kind of restaurant, you need to support regularly. The ambiance, food and service were some of the best we’ve experienced.

We just had the most wonderful dinner at wine cellar. The food was lovely, the view was great and best of all was the service! Our waiter was so kind to us and my little nephew. At the end of the night he brought over an ice cream for him :) We cannot wait to come back and thank you so much to our wonderful waiter!

The food was excellent. I had the halibut special with asparagus and Yukon gold mashed potatoes. delicious. The other folks in the past had the baby back ribs. The ribs were delicious, the vegetables were good.
