We just had lunch here, and it was DELICIOUS, and plentiful. We both brought home leftovers, can hardly wait to have them for dinner. Friendly staff, lively tastes, terrific service, and everything was very very good. Highly recommended. Suzy and Liza (and you have no idea how long it takes us to decide where the hell to have lunch in Albuquerque; this place will help with that.)

Amazing food. Only place like it in ABQ. Don't go for ambiance, go for the food, value, and very interesting owner.

Every time we eat here, we're delighted with the food and the service. We've not had a bad dish, ever. The samosas are awesome. The "fish 'n' chips" - salmon filet! I love the mogo, too, cassava fries. The place is a little hard to find, but it's absolutely worth it.

I'd never had Tanzanian food before but I loved it! If I had to compare it to food from other regions I would call it a cross between Ethiopian and Indian food. All of the meats we had were marinated with bold flavors then grilled. Several dishes had curry including the corn. Sauces (tamarind, green chile chutney and red salsa chutney) were served on the side, so the dishes weren't covered in them. It was really easy to eat a healthy meal there. I'll definitely be back!

We have came to this location for the various restaurants it held over the years. The Safari Grill is now at the top of my list. We had a little bit of everything off the menu. The family was unanimous and rated it five stars! My favorite was the Beef Skewer Tacos. Welcome to the neighborhood!

The Safari Grill 2.0… Excited to have you Back! Hey PigHippoMom/ster Fans Summer is one day away and I have a “mouth watering dining experience for you! Guess What? WHAT? The Safari Grill is BACK! The Safari Grill is located at 3001 Central Ave NE in the Nob Hill section of Albuquerque New Mexico. Nabil Young and his family has done it again! Expertly blending Tanzanian and New Mexican spices to create a travel experience in your mouth! Every so often I check in to see what Nabil is doing and was excited to see The Safari Grill was open for business. Today I rushed down for lunch with “Pig” and had a mini feastival. We started with the Seasoned Wheat Chips and Tangy Lime Salsa… This was just the warm-up. We then dove face first into mouthwatering triangles of Chicken, Vegetables and Beef goodness packed into the Samosas. We are almost there so hold on… Our last course was the “Safari Bowl” OMG Nabil’s Mom makes a “to-die-for” rice pilaf which could stand alone but…we covered it with a moist Salmon filet for “Pig” and tasty Mishkaki Beef for me. We’re not finished yet, our side which should be a meal on it’s own was the ever delicious “Curry Corn”. In a WoRd “WoW”. Mouth is satisfied, tummy is full, all is good with the world till our next visit. The Safari Grill is open Tuesday - Thursday for lunch 11-2 pm and 5-9 pm for dinner, Friday - Saturday 11-10 pm, Sunday 12 pm - 8 pm. They are closed on Sunday. Ample parking in the area, delightful staff and their beer & wine license should be available in the near future. Please ADD The Safari Grill to your MUST eats list!

From the moment we walked into this eatery to the time we left I'm sure there were smiles on our faces. The aromas in the air from the food being prepared to the amazing and friendly staff one cannot go wrong when chosing their next meal here. The waitress was the sweetest I've ever had: explaining the history of their food and describing their main dishes helps put one at ease while reading through the menu. We tried a few appetizers and dishes so that we could share. Samosas, tandoori chicken wings, short ribs, beef skewers, curry corn, veggie rice pilaf and one cannot forget to try cassava fries! Delicious!! Amazing and delightful vibrant colors and flavors! We were not disappointed! Next time we'll add dessert!
