This place is a hidden gem. The food was excellent, atmosphere was cozy, great wine and the staff were awesome!!! The calamari and also mushroom appetizers were very good. I got the rainbow trout and it was excellent. Prices were also reasonable. Worth stopping in if you’re in the neighborhood.
First time dining here and we weren’t disappointed. Jeffrey our waiter seemed a little nervous but he could have been new, but he took good care of us. Guy, the owner stopped by for a quick chat and I tried to remember some of my French from high school haha We got our desserts to go, the macarons weren’t my favorite thing but the sorbet was to die for. We will definitely return sometime. C’était bon!
Went for lunch and it was really good! French onion soup was AMAZING!
Server was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food, all of it, delicious!!
Second trip just as amazing!!
Brassiere Provence is my favorite restaurant in Louisville and that’s really saying something given I’m a food critic. Every course was delicious and exquisite. The entree was an array of different flavors complimenting one another. French food is now my favorite cuisine. If you’re in this
part of town then Brasserie Provence is a must try; you will certainly not be disappointed. I recommend the escargots, red ruby trout and the macarons for desert.
A perfect dining experience. The COVID precautions were in place and appreciated. The staff provided excellent customer service and make it seem effortless. The Upscale setting was comfortable and provided an ambiance that made our evening feel special. And then there was the food. It was everything you would want for fine dining. I had the pork chop, French onion soup, and raspberry cheesecake. All of it delicious and worthy a separate review. Thank you Brasserie Provence for living up to your stroller reviews. You've earned the praise. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Loved it! Everyone was super friendly. The salmon was modified a bit to accommodate my lactose intolerance, but everything tasted amazing. Incredible seasoning accompanied by a great bodied wine. Dessert was truly mesmerizing, I would have ordered another if I wasn't full already. Thank you!
Everything was fabulous!! The atmosphere was wonderful and every wait staff was so very friendly. We enjoyed the drinks, appetizer, entrees and dessert. I look forward to my next dining experience at Brasserie Provence!!
Guy and his staff always treat us well and serve fantastic meals. We’ve had many happy family occasions at Brasserie Provence. Highly recommend
Delicious authentic french cuisine. Great place for a birthday or celebration dinner. Extensive wine list. Amazing charcuterie boards and other appetizers. Loved the pacing of he courses and presentation. Would recommend to everyone looking for a fancy experience!
Had an amazing birthday dinner here. The entire staff was friendly, professional, prompt and truly gave an amazing experience. The food was phenomenal, even for those in our party that aren’t too adventurous. From the appetizers to the on the house birthday dessert the presentation and flavor combination was absolutely perfect.
We have been going to Brasserie Provence for years, and it is always, always excellent. My favorites are the French onion soup and Steak Frites, but I’ve never had anything there that wasn’t excellent. The steak frites is always perfect. I like my steaks almost well done and yes that ruins the steak at some places, IF it’s not a good steak to begin with or if the chef doesn’t know how to make a good well done steak, but here I can get my steak cooked exactly as I like it (almost no pink with a bit of char on the edges but still tender and flavorful), and it’s always PERFECTION. The little salad that comes with it is always fresh and the dressing is tasty, and the fries are also perfect, especially when I remember to ask for their delicious aioli. French onion soup to start and then steak frites at Brasserie Provence is my all-time favorite meal, and it is always perfect there. My mom’s favorite is the vichyssoises, which is fabulous. They didn’t have it when she was here visiting this summer (sad face), but they had cold cantaloupe soup and it was stellar. I’m so glad Brasserie Provence is open for lunch, so I can afford to go more often! I so wish they were open for lunch on Saturdays but that’s seriously my only “complaint.” And we have missed lunch a few times when we’ve forgotten lunch closes at 2:00. So yes, my only complaint is that I can’t eat there any random time I want to, ha. The atmosphere is really lovely and pleasant, and not overly stuffy. The staff is always friendly, too, and I love that they have outdoor seating in the shade. We’ve done Mother’s Day brunch there, too, and it was delicious and well worth the price. This is our place for special celebration dinners, taking guests to dinner from out of town, and whenever we just want a great meal. Definitely our favorite restaurant!
My second time having dinner here and it was excellent again. Had the prime pork chop (honey lavender) with ratatouille and gratin dauphinois. The pork chop may be my favorite pork chop I’ve ever had. Moist and tender, excellent flavor all the way through. We has their fromage (cheese) plate for an appetizer, with a pesto cheese, three-cream Brie, and a blue cheese with grilled bread, raspberry purée, and fig jam. I was so full from dinner I got my dessert (key lime tart) to go.
Service was also excellent and the owner regularly walks the dining room to greet and check in with guests.
One of our favorite places in the city.
The food was great! Was here on Saturday, June 17. Table of 11. My nephew bday and his deployment to Korea for a year. I got the lamb, which was great cooked medium and tasted amazing! My nephew got the chicken, amazingly cooked, wasn't dried with stuffed mushrooms. It was a great taste.
So delicious! Salmon over grits was outstanding! The veal was perfect with green beans and quenelles. The wine Picoul and Perrin were exquisite! Very very good meal. One slight disappointment was the creme Brule, we expected the best and got the B version. Will return.
Loved this restaurant experience and especially the atmosphere inside. We visited on Monday, which is perfect as most bottles of wine are half priced! Be sure to ask your server which bottles are included on this special before ordering. French Onion soup was excellent and my favorite part. Excellent place for a date night or special occasion.
One of the two vegan options was amazing!!! The black bean cake... The other, eh. But great atmosphere and huge selection of wine. Great for a romantic date!
