Good Mexican food. We have all enjoyed our food every time we have been here. Quick service and handy downtown location. Can’t beat fresh tortilla chips and salsa.

The food was good and what you expect from the normal American-Mexican restaurant. The chips, salsa and queso were solid and I ordered the Chicken Flautas which was pretty good but far from spectacular. Prices are very reasonable and wait staff very nice. Not a bad choice for a quick lunch or dinner if you are downtown near the museum district.
Los Aztecas offers standard Tex-Mex fare with combination platters and lunch specials, and overall, it has been consistently above average throughout the years. Friendly service, and reasonable prices, but it is best to arrive early or late because, as reviewers have pointed out below, this place is small and becomes slammed at noon. The salsa chips are solid, but in my opinion, the salsa itself is way too sweet. My go-to order is usually the combination number one, with two beef enchiladas, one beef taco and beans; it is always tasty and very filling.
The food and service was good. The chips and salsa were very good. The price is affordable. Enjoy their version of salsa! We sat outside at a table under an umbrella watching the hustle and bustle of city activity!

Good Food.....Just a little to cramped!. The food was excellent....service excellent.....the seating well it wasn't too great. We ate here around lunchtime, and they litterally squeezed us in. If you can stand the crowd, then go for it. You won't be disappointed by the food!

Good, but not authentic. I can never find a place that serves delicious, simple, Mexican food. I came here after reading the reviews in hopes that I would be ousted. Unfortunately, it was just more of the same. You can find what they have here at any other generic Mexican restaurant. That's not to say the food isn't good, it's just not what I'm looking for. However, one nice touch was that the salsa was served in a glass bottle. I thought that was different and special.
Decent.. I like this restaurant, because it is casual and quick Mexican food made by people who know Mexican food. Not fancy, just good.
The only real choice for Mexican food in downtown. It is very crowded. Service is sparse at best. They have had recent price increases. The food is the basic fare as most othe Mex places. I recommend to go orders. You really will nit believe how cramped the space is.

So when visiting Los Aztecas be forewarned, a small margarita is 12 ounces, a medium is 27 ounces, and a large is the behemoth above. Or take the challenge and order a large but make sure you call a cab when you’re done. TGIF!
Everything in the picture was really good, except the tortilla soup. It was way too light on chicken, no flavor just just a slice or 2 of avocado. The rest of the food was really, really good.
Service unfortunately was awful. He was obviously expecting 20% or more, which I typically do for even good service. This guy was providing just a bare minimum and seemed to be milking us with a smile and nothing more. The hostesses we're great, but the server needs some training or to be let go.
He brought the quality of everything down.
Excellent restaurant. The service was superb, friendly, and professional. The ambiance is inviting, and the location is very convenient in the NULU area.

My favorite place ever.. the food is delicious, the service is almost perfect and the servers are amazing!! This place is great for everyone!! The pricing it's perfect. Great place to have a really good meal or to just sit at the bar and get a drink and chips and salsa solo or with a friend!! I highly recommend Los Aztecs!!
This place was amazing, the atmosphere it nice with a lot to look at. Food... FANTASTIC, i was full but still wanted to keep eating! Heads up, food comes out on a HOT plate. Servers were pleasant
The inside was nice the drinks were AMAZING!!!! Definitely the highlight. The food was good but not flavorful. The salsa wasn’t good either. Also no dessert 😔Would HIGHLY recommend for drinks !!!
From the moment we walked in, to ordering, to finishing up, was a great experience. I’ve missed service like this! The waiter was on it, and the food came out fast! The salsa was the best I’ve had in awhile and the spice to it was perfect. Whenever we’re back in Louisville this is where we’ll be eating when we want Mexican!
The food was fantastic. We loved the chips, salsa and queso. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The steak burrito blew me away and my husband loved his arroz con pollo. Also the coronarita was one of the best Ive had.
The issues we had were with the service. Everything was fast but they gave me the wrong dish. I ordered the quesadilla and received a burrito. It was late and I was hungry so I ate it. It all comes with beans and rice but they didnt give those to me either. Had to get someone to bring it. We waited over 20 minutes to get the check after we were done eating. Nobody was paying attention.
Great food but the service needs work
Los Aztecas is definitely our go-to place for Mexican. Service is lightning fast, their food is incredible, you're easily going to be able to get 2 meals out of most entrées. They have my favorite chimichanga in town, and their margaritas are great, too! We had ordered delivery from them consistently during COVID, but they're even better in person.

The restaurant is large, and spacious. Plenty of personal space.
The servers are uniform in dress, look like they want to be there, and act professionally! They look out for you - they're familiar with the menu and can give a good recommendation.
Don't get me started on how good their house margaritas are. They're served in a rose-shaped stemmed glass.
It was a refreshing experience to feel and taste authentic Latin foods and hand made margaritas! I will definitely come back and bring some friends!
Just looking for a spot to chow down before heading to the airport. I was greeted very warmly, juggling bags for the airport. I sat at the bar and Wilmer took care of me, an incredibly genuine and nice guy from Guatemala. His service was impeccable, always coming to make sure i was alright. The food at this place blew me away! I had the chicken soup(so freaking delicious) "Taquitos Mexicanos" (Flautas) and some wings Togo. The watermelon Margarita is where it's at!! And my dessert was a shot of hornitos reposado. They have a wonderful tequila selection with sustainable brands and delicious cocktails. I will definately be back on my next trip to Louisville!! Wilmer made sure of that!
Excellent service, great prices, and outstanding food. I had the beef Taco salad, which was outstanding. Parking along Jackson, and there was also a parking lot across Market Street for guests to use.

We ordered fajitas, tacos, and quesadillas. All were wonderful and tasty. We also ordered a guac with our chips in addition to the sauce they already give you.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone that's coming to visit Louisville.
A very fun and vibrant place to enjoy classic Mexican fare. Great for all crowds from families with children to a group of friends out for a drink. The setting is upbeat and portion sizes are very generous.
Great atmosphere, even better food. Drinks were on point and food was delivered quickly. Parking can be a little iffy due to location, but well worth it.
