I've been dining here for over 20 years. There's a reason why they have expanded and stayed open. The owner is incredibly mindful about his food. Middle Eastern and Mediterranean is my favorite and I eat it wherever I travel weather in the United States or abroad and the grape leaf has long been my favorite it Remains the standard to which All Things Are judged
excellent food and service. spanikopita, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, gyro, saffron rice. all top notch.
Second time we've been. This time for dinner instead of lunch. The portions are plentiful and you definitely get your money's worth. Amazing food that takes both us back to when we've traveled to the Middle East and Mediterranean. Service is both friendly and helpful yet it so overbearing that you can't have a private conversation. It's our favorite Mediterranean restaurant in town.
This was my first time at The Grape Leaf. The baba ghanouge, hummus, and spanakopita appetizers were amazing! My Curry Masala with chicken was flavorful and truly wonderful! I sampled my coworker's biryani, and decided I need another visit soon so I can order it!
I love it here! I highly recommend for catering! It is so delicious!
We had dinner here last night with friends ( probably my 200th time eating here ) places have come and gone in the last 20 years or so but the Grape Leaf has remained solid .
I used to love it...but then they changed the menu..and evidently the chef....just not so good anymore. Wish they would change it back it used to be the only place i wanted to go for dinner. So Sad!!!!
Fresh food and great service! We will be back.
Great food! The Greek salad was perfect, the service was friendly and the entrees are ample serving sizes. A must visit for medditerian food!
My son's favorite meal is the mango salmon (with extra mango sauce) with a pomegranate mint lemonade.
Best restaurant in Louisville in my opinion. Food is excellent.

Love Grapeleaf! Great service and we love the hummus!
Really cool place to grab some local Mediterranean food but on expensive side...
We got the lamb swarma wrap, hummus and pita, falafel gyro, and Greek salads. Hummus was probably the best thing imo. Could tell the food was fresh and it was tasty. The lamb swarma kinda tasted like a burger tbh and lacked some pizzazz in flavor. But I still enjoyed it! The falafel gyro was bombalicious however. I honestly think this place is worth a visit and would be enjoyed
Wow! Loved all the flavors. The outdoor seating was cozy and relaxing. The filet was cooked perfectly, the avocado and tzatziki were freshly prepared and so good. Biryani rice and black beans were a tasty side dish. Would happily recommend this place to friends!
I came with no expectations but I started to love this place. Veggies are really fresh, steamed broccoli is creamy, lamb gyros was really great.❤️ i have a few Mediterranean diner experiences but enjoyed my plate a lot.
The Grape Leaf is a great place to grab some mediterranean dishes with a great atmosphere and friendly service. I’d highly recommend the Grape Leaf for a great meal
I absolutely love eating at this restaurant when I’m In Louisville. The Biryani with chicken is always my go-to dish. Fresh chicken, veggies, potatoes, and spices served over a bed of rice. I highly recommend it!
I’ve passed this restaurant a thousand times and never dropped in, but finally did and was happy I did. A fairly large menu of Mediterranean options for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. The hummus was great and the shawarma was delicious. The waitress was lovely and the service fast. Drop by and don’t delay.
The Grape Leaf is the best spot for Mediterranean food in the area! They have the best hummus I have ever had and they offer very good portions on all their meals! The service is always quick and polite as well. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for all my food to have come out either, very on top of it here at The Grape Leaf.
Had my birthday dinner there with friends. The food was very flavorful and I was given baklava for my birthday! I had lamb and vegetables with a Greek salad. One friend had a lamb gyro and another had chicken and vegetables. We also had appetizers. Spanikopita and grape leaves. I forgot the name of the third app. I will go again for sure.
I ordered the mezza sampler i chose the babaganoosh, avocado smash, and the spanikopita and added the grape leaves for an additional charge. The babaganoosh had an overly charred flavor that overpowers the essence of the actual eggplant. The avo smash had a verry organic taste with no added flavor but thats fine bc i enjoy plain avocados. The spanikopita was crispy and delightful and oddly the grape leaves were served very warm. For my entree i ordered the sumac chicken with saffron rice and cauliflower. Interestingly enough it was packed with layers of flavor and aromatic deliciousness that seemed more authentic. Lunch cost me $40 so its kinda pricey for what you get but the service provided was nice.
Initially this was as our second choice as our first choice restaurant wasn't open till later and boy were we glad that that restaurant was closed so we can come to this place.
The serving sizes were generous and everything was delicious. I loved their lentil soup. For some reason I had craving for it and it hit the spot! The soup came in a small bowl but I don't know how they do it; it retained the heat for a long time. The soup itself filled me up actually. My son had a shawarma and my husband had something like balsamic portabella chicken and it was delicious, too. I loved their interior, too. If we are in town, we would love to come back again. :)
Exceptional food! I was so impressed! Service was top notch - the waitresses family showed up and she STILL paid attention to me! Lovely place.
Always the freshest salads. I recommend any of them. Grape leaves, mousakka & lentils & rice are my favorites. I tried the Kinbee for the first time & and it was flavorful but dry. Thank goodness for Tazikki sauce. Yum
If you are looking for a nice Mediterranean, calming, and intimate venue, The Grape Leaf is your place! I want to personally comment about the outstanding service and food received during my sister’s brunch/luncheon bridal shower. It was absolutely the BEST!! We had about 25 guests to attend and everyone was very pleased with the food and service. A huge shout out to Hamza!!! He did a fantastic job overseeing our event. He was so professional, extremely knowledgeable, and helpful. He was very responsive and patient. Very nice guy! I highly recommend The Grape Leaf for your next meal.
My family and I love The Grape Leaf! The service is so nice and they are very attentive. We always go with large groups and never felt like they couldn’t handle the demand! The price is on point for the portions and quality. The seasoning is good as well. They have my favorite hummus of all time too (pictured), which comes with deliciously warm pita.
They also have a great selection of vegetarian dishes so pretty much anyone can find something to eat here! Love their selection and quality so much. We always come back :)
Delicious. Had the lamb shawarma and Greek salad. Highly recommend
I tried there gyro and it was really good. If you like spice then try there spicy habanero sauce has some really good spice and flavor! Try your meal with a Turkish coffee and the flavor of the notes really go well with the food!
The pomegranate mint lemonade was very interesting to say the least, I'm not sure I've ever had anything that tasted like it before and I did enjoy it, although I am a fan of mint as it has a very minty flavor. The chicken kabob rice and lentils were done really well, chicken was excellent, rice and lentils were good and filling, and I liked the garnish of grilled yellow squash, and zucchini, with cherry tomatoes, it completed the meal with a well rounded flavor. Also the hummus was really good for an appetizer if you are really hungry, Greek salad was really good, I especially liked all of the small cut vegetables and huge amounts of feta cheese! I would have to say this being a middle eastern restaurant, having different assortments of foods, is something different and a hidden gem in Louisville! Also the gravel outdoor seating under a shaded arbor would be fun if it wasn't cold and you wanted some fresh air out of the sun.
