In that weird place where I love this place & want it to thrive but don't want to recommend it as glowing as I ought to lest it become too crowded for me to enjoy myself. But what the hell. They deserve it. The place is a goddamn delight.

What a great place! The decor is stunning and all the staff are incredibly friendly. The cocktails are out of this world and not too expensive either. They’ve come up with some wonderful unique drinks, but also make the classics extremely well. Hell or High Water is well worth a visit. Make sure to explore the whole place once you get a drink - it’s such a gem and I can’t wait to visit it again!

This is, by far, the coolest speakeasy I've ever been to. I will not disclose any of the amazing curiosities and wonders here -- you'll have to go for yourself -- but suffice to say, this place has hidden rooms, tufted couches, buttons to call your server and the flair and music to match the prohibition-inspired theme. Make sure to go to the bathrooms to see the homage to the sex club that once occupied the space (!) and the House Rules. Incredible in every nook and cranny. MAKE A RESERVATION!

Despite the rising Ohio we were determined to attend the soft opening of Hell or High Water. The owner had a dream and boy did she ever nail it. The attention to detail was amazing. The library, the secret room behind the curio door, art deco lighting and ohhh the wallpaper in the bathroom is a must see. Flawless execution, drinks mixed to perfection, a fun fabulous setting, and friendly staff that are truly passionate about what they do is what makes this the new go to place in Louisville. Congratulations Hell or High Water, you knocked it out of the ballpark.

Able to attend the soft opening of Hell or High Water. The ambiance of the place alone made my heart skip a beat while the cocktails and excellent service made the experience that much more memorable in the company of good friends! I can't wait to come back here one day!

Gorgeous atmosphere and amazing staff. Definitely a "we have to take them there" spot for visiting family and friends. Jason was great at the bar, and general manager Reggie made his rounds, ensuring everyone was satisfied and enjoying themselves. Brandon is the perfect choice for the door with his good humor and demeanor. Everyone had great personalities.

My boyfriend and I had been dying to visit and finally had the opportunity last night; we have been to a couple other speakeasies in town, but this one had such a unique vibe and atmosphere from the rest! Excellent cocktail menu paired with stellar service and conversation! I'd love to give every detail of what I loved about the space itself, but it really deserves to be seen in person! To give away all of the details would feel like spoiling a surprise! Prepare yourself for a hell of an experience!.. We can't wait to go back!

Swanky place to begin a birthday celebration when the clock strikes midnight! Unlike any bar I’ve experienced! Great attention to detail and lots of surprises. Hell or High Water Bar is a must-visit while in Louisville. Try the Pimm’s Cup.

Great place. You would not know they are here without first finding them on google. Make sure to have a reservation if you want to get a seat. The drinks are creative and original. The atmosphere was cute and quaint. We each had 2 drinks and none of them disappointed us. If you are into cocktails, definitely make this a place to stop at. Cocktails were around $15 each

We had a pretty late reservation (10:15pm) on a Friday night, but all of the staff were very patient with us and did not make us feel rushed to leave. The cocktails were all so curated and thoughtful. Atmosphere was out of this world incredible and immersive. I would make this a must if visiting Louisville!

Such a cool place! Make reservations to ensure you’ll get in. If you are in a group of 2-4 then try to get the Boudoir for an intimate and private area. I’m a sucker for speakeasy’s and they did a great job keeping with the dark, private ambience of the prohibition era. It felt like we were in someone’s private smoker’s lounge/library from the 20’s with velvet couches and privacy curtains. After being won over by the atmosphere I was just as pleased with their cocktail menu. They had some of the most unique concoctions I’ve seen. I got the Smoke & Mirrors and WOW. I was blown away by this drink. It was incredibly tasty and unexpectedly savory, which I’ve never experienced in a drink before. And the flavor of the salted rim was so unique and tasty; we had fun trying to pinpoint exactly what snack it reminded us of. You should definitely check out Hell or High Water!

We did some pre-dinner cocktails here for two hours (you reserve a two hour time slot). It's a pretty cool place because it's underground and speakeasy style. No handle on the door - you have to call to get in. The cocktails were mostly phenomenal (I didn't love the Spring Forward drink). My favorite was the Fletchers Folly. My husbands' bourbon drinks were exceptional. The atmosphere was very fun and comfy seating to unwind!

WOW! What a great experience. This place is a hidden gem. The concierge at Hotel 21C recommend it and they did not disappoint. They are by reservation only (which is the best part o my review). Because of my reservation they were able to call me to let me know I had left my jacket. I went back as soon as I could get a Lyft just in time as they were closed and she was locking up. Thank you so much for being so kind and sharing your bourbon recommendations with my friend and I. We had a great time and if I’m ever in the area again I hope to come back.

Off the path with a hidden entrance , not a new concept but they do it right. Great vibes and atmosphere. Drinks are original and not overpriced. Dimly lit and music in the background is audible and actually quite enjoyable but not so loud you couldn’t enjoy good conversation. Love the private rooms. Great experience. I ordered the Love and Tender and I could have had several more .

One of the better places for cocktails that I've been to. The place has that speakeasy vibe to it, and it would be best to have reservations. We ordered a few different drinks, and they were all spectacular. I think the In Bloom and Red Eye Rye were my favorites out of all the ones we tried. If you want some great cocktails, I highly recommend this place.

Top notch classy for a speak easy. Door is the one under the globe light. Make reservations on a busy night. The library area is very unique and popular. Good Old Fashioned.
