When I think of great homestyle pizza with a touch of elegance I think imps. The ambience is electric. The people are friendly and beautiful. I find myself in disarray when I eat other pizza because my soul only longs for impellizzeri's. Have I even mentioned the meatball sub? Best meatball sub in North America; not even the great Chef Emeril Lagasse with his tricks could concoct finer dish. With the new updated TVs it's an excellent place to watch a game and grab an adult beverage for very reasonable prices. The updated deck outside is reminiscent of a clear October night on the Californian coast. The traditional pastas are immaculate, both the taste and presentation of the dish. I am not sure why this place doesn't have 3 Michelin stars. I would like to end with a quote from the famous Jacques Pepin, "You can't escape the taste of the food you had as a child. In times of stress, what do you dream about? Your mother's claim chowder. It's security, comfort. It brings you home." Sub the claim chowder for pizza and spaghetti and meatballs and you get the point.
This is our local pizza place so we're here often. The food is excellent and I highly recommend it. Not only the pizza but the meatballs and lasagna are fabulous. We like just about everything on the menu. Great beers, super Italian food in general, and great friendly servers make this a go to for us and it should be for you also.

Great pizza. Made from scratch dough that you can taste. Great, fresh toppings, and plenty of them. Never leave hungry, or dissatisfied. Classic pizza joint decor, full of flat screens. 100 on Health grade. Best pizza in town!
Every damn time my friend comes to visit I beg her to bring me a pep and jalapeño pizza from impellizeris. Sooooooo good. I think if I lived in louisville I'd eat there multiple times a week! ♡

Good but Expensive. Great pizza but very expensive. But since you can pretty much make a meal on a single slice of their thick, deliciousness, perhaps the price is not bad after all.
This is my favorite pizza in Louisville. They always pile on the toppings and are great with special requests. I get pizza from carry out at least once a week. The service is great, too. Always very friendly and fast.
This is one of our favorite pizza places in the city. The pizza is great, but the bread sticks swimming in melted butter are my fav. Yes, it's a heart attack on a pizza pan but I'll take my chances! They need to update the decor, it used to be a Pizza Hut, and basically all they did was gut the inside but didn't add any "vibe" or personality to the place.
I have to apologize for my last review. You're absolutely right: I did only order 5 wings. I thought it was supposed to be 10. If I was in your shoes, I'd be offended too. Sorry about that. Perhaps I'll try the pizza you're famous for tonight. Maybe I'll dine in this time. The atmosphere was awesome.
Fantastic pizza, breadsticks and sandwiches. We had to try it all after seeing it out and my lord was the sweet and spicy pepperoni one of the best I've ever had. Well done all around.
Ate here with my family and friends a few weeks ago. Not that crowded on a Friday night and had a very pleasant experience.

We live in Highview, between Okalona and Fern Creek and the pizza's in this area are not worth bringing home.
We have to travel aways for the Impellizzeri's pizza, and it's always worth the travel. Always delicious!
The pizza was great, service very friendly yet I felt like I was sitting in a Cracker Barrel lite. Slightly racist en overall a little prinky. Other than that, great food!

Every time I'm home in Louisville, I stop by Impellizzeri's. The pizza is my favorite, and it is always the same...delicious. There are always games on, and the staff are friendly. The breadsticks are pretty great too.
If you want bread sticks swimming in garlic butter or a great flavored pizza, Impellizzeri's is the place to go in the Louisville area.
Some of the best pizza I've ever had in my life! On top of that you can order draft beers, mixed drinks or whiskey on the rocks if it suits you! Had an amazing waitress and a great time!
I had one of the best pasta in Lou! Breadsticks were delicious too! I'm Italian and for once the food reminded me of home! Can't wait to go back!
The service could have been a little better, and they weren't really that busy. On the other hand, the breadsticks are to die for and the pizza is fantastic! I will return!
