Hosted a business dinner of 12 mid week. What a great experience! Vince our server was attentive and the food was spectacular! Short Uber if you are staying downtown. Devilish Eggs appetizer- wow! My wife would not share, better order your own.

I went there for the dinner theme, Star Wars. It was neat experience and nothing too much excitement. They only had two cocktails, lightsaber and blue milk. They took a while to make. The lightsaber was okay because it was just the glow stick in the drink, but I enjoyed the blue milk a lot. The food was good. It is pretty much the same of their menu but with few additional to fit in the theme. I would like to come back to try a few things and also their cocktails because I saw a few good bourbon on their shelves.

My boyfriend and I have been here 2x and both have been great! He got the stroganoff which I really liked the last time & I got the short rib which was very good! All the servers were very sweet & even the bartender continued to check up on us throughout our dinner. We enjoyed it being a quieter setting to just have a nice, relaxing dinner together!

There were 4 of us and it was a great experience for all. Jeffrey the Owner made us feel welcome and continued to check on us throughout our dinner. Luke our server was very personable and helpful. The brisket quest appetizer was very good. The brussel sprout salad was intriguing so we had to try. Would definitely get again. The ingredients and dressing were very good. The pork chop as the owner said “was life changing”. Others had the short ribs, shrimp & grits & the smash burger were the other entrees. All were good and we all shared. Will definitely come back here. Thank you for a great experience!

Friendly team and very welcoming. Food: Short ribs were excellent. Shrimp and Grits was like a stew and the shrimp were not seasoned. Deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes were very tasty. Good selection of cocktails. Service and checkout: Servers would benefit by gathering individual or pair orders to keep separate tickets upfront to make paying the bill smoother. There is software available now to assist with checkout so that the server doesn’t have to go around the table gathering this after the meal. Ambiance: Loved the availability of sitting outside. Simple, elegant decor.

Fork and Barrel was a lovely experience. On a previous visit, we stopped her for breakfast at Morning Fork, which we loved. We didn't realize until we pulled into the parking lot that Fork and Barrel were in the same spot. They are two restaurants in one building. Check the website for hours for each. And try them both. I had the Pork Chop, and my wife had the Fish Stew. That was on special that evening. The fish stew was spectacular. The pork chop was delicious, but the scalloped potatoes stole the show for me. I grew up eating scalloped potatoes at every family gathering. I never loved them and, most of the time, hate them. These were not my Grandma's scalloped potatoes. It was a stack of thinly sliced potatoes with a ton of flavor and a good balance of creaminess. In addition to the food, the staff was excellent. The owner/Chef Geoffery was visiting the tables during his time in the kitchen. He took the time to ask us about our experience and tell us a little about his restaurant and dishes. Not to say everything was perfect. Our waitress placed our drink order at the bar but forgot to bring them out. We only got them after asking the bartender. The bartender and the waitress apologized, went a step further, and comped our drinks for the night. I appreciated how they handled the mess up. Not because it was free, but because they acknowledged the issue, explained how it happened, and offered a solution before we asked anything. We can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Louisville.

Overall, it was a great experience. The only downside was that both meals had a smoky smell and flavor to them. We ordered the Roasted 1/2 chicken and Braised Shirt Rib. Even the pita bread with the appetizer had a smoky burnt taste and smell. Would love to know why. Everyone was pleasant and professional. Great atmosphere.

I selected Fork & Barrel as a dinner celebration with one of my best friends for my birthday celebration. It did not disappoint and you can skip to the end to see what happened that made it special. You have to make reservations, and our table was waiting for us, upon arrival. Parking was very convenient, as they have an onside parking lot. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and I am going to confess right now, that it was the best Old Fashioned that I have ever had. I said nothing to my server regarding it, because I didn't want to seem like a lush; but it was wonderful, and literally had a sweet spot at the end before I got to the cherry under the sphere of ice. I ordered deviled eggs as an appetizer, and requested the bacon be on side. Personally, I don't eat bacon, but my friend does. The deviled eggs have a mix of blue cheese, and it can be tasted; so if you are use to the traditional yellow mustard and vinegar - this may not be the appetizer for you - but I enjoyed it! My friend ordered a cup of the tomato soup, while I got the fried brussels sprout salad, that is topped off with a fried egg. We enjoyed our selections! For the entree, I got the salmon that was on top of a mixture of sweet potato spinach and quinoa, with a side of mashed potato. He got (beef) stroganoff. I wasn't impressed with the mashed potatoes at all; there was no culinary flare to them, I could have made them at home myself; save your money and don't order it. So here is the special moment that stood out - dessert. My friend had told Liza (our server) that we were celebrating my birthday (Happy Birthday to all the Scorpios!) and I selected the triple brownie. The brownie was large and warm, and had a happy birthday centerpiece alongside whipcream and vanilla ice cream, and a card! My friend and I shared dessert. I thought the card was such a nice, thoughtful, and creative touch!!! It was stamped showing it was from the team of Fork and Barrel, and they had all signed it! I really enjoyed that personal touch, despite if they did it at the beginning of shift or the beginning of the month; it was a pleasant surprise. Thank you to Liza, our server for the excellent service! I have included pictures below.

I enjoyed the atmosphere at this restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. The chef made it a point to stop by at all the tables as well. Overall we had a good time. The appetizers here were awesome! We got the hush puppies basket, deviled eggs and the Crab cake. The deviled eggs were the clear winners! They had a spicy, smoky sauce at the top which was extremely flavorful. The crab cakes left something to be desired. For our entrees, we got the Short ribs and the lamb which was the special of the day. The beef short ribs were cooked to perfection, the sauce was great, the dish came with a root vegetable mash , the dish was good, but not much to write home about. The root vegetable mash missed the mark, I would have preferred just roasted root vegetables and a little more sauce. The lamb was alright. Some pieces were cooked unevenly but the beet sauce was killer. I was not too impressed with the cocktails. I got the pear Prosecco and then later got a grapefruit & tequila drink which was better Ended our meal with the brownie dessert, which was delicious , but again nothing that made it stand out. I gave this 4 stars because of the atmosphere, the staff and the deviled eggs!

Really impressed with this place! Great food and service. It's kind of a low-key vibe with elevated food. The brisket & queso with housemade tortilla chips was really good! Brittany was the bartender and our server and we could really tell how much she cares for her customers and the work she does. All around good experience!
